750 ml bottle acquired in a trade with KingG, thanks again Joey, shared with Bill yesterday, drank from a snifter, color is a light pinkish red, 3/4 inch white bubbly head that goes away quickly, no lacing, aroma consists of ripe raspberries, bettanomyces, grassy accents, lemon, other berries, lactose, and candied sugar, flavor starts off with a light raspberry taste, sugary and tart in the middle, finish is light and does not pack the sour punch you hope for from a wild ale, it has a nice fruit flavor but lacks complexity and is not characteristic of the style in that it is mellow in taste, sweet, slightly sour, and sugary mouthfeel, light to medium bodied, high amount of carbonation, could have drank this whole bottle because it is light and goes down easy, overly smooth for a sour, no alcohol present in the flavor either, a bit hilarious to think about how much controversy this beer caused and then to see first hand that it did not really live up to its hype, it is a decent beer do not get me wrong, but I have had dozens of wild ales better than this one, worth trying but wish I did not trade so much for it now

Huge thanks to Dyan for bringing over this rarity.

Pours a hazy pinkish-red with a thin white head. Smell is awesome: raspberries, oak, funky and some lacto sourness are all in there and blended rather nicely. Flavor is a bit of a let-down after the fantastic smell. The raspberry flavor isn't as bright as I'd hoped and it's not nearly as sour as I thought it was going to be. There's a nice amount of oak in the finish. Mouthfeel is very carbonated and mouth-coating. Overall, this is a tasty sour, but after the smell, the flavor didn't blow me away like I had hoped.

Bottle shared thanks to Dion, thanks man!

The look is nice with a deep dark reddish brown color, very hazy and thick looking. No head or lacing to speak of.

The smell is really nice like a great raspeberry tart dessert with some nice caramel overtones too. A true confectionary nature to this smell with just a slight tartness.

The taste has a very bright acidic raspberry that is great. Has some pie crust taste and a nice funky aftertaste with farmhouse malts as well. I enjoy this quite a bit.

The feel is great and the flavor lingers nicely, it has almost a thicker feel for a wild ale and less carbonation.

Overall I enjoyed this beer quite a bit!

Bottle into a Weyerbacher tulip. Huge thanks to Nate for sharing this storied brew at CdC.

A: Cloudy red-amber body with a persistent cap of off-white head. Nice.

S: Raspberry essence, including both the flesh and stem. Vanilla, fruity tartness, and general sour goodness.

T: Sour raspberries up front, with dry oak, more fruit, and some vanilla afterward. This is really all about the raspberries, which is impressive given its age. Great.

M: Soft, still medium body. Ok.

O: This was my first experience with an (in)famous Bullfrog sour, and it was terrific. I wouldn't trade my whole cellar for another one, but it was a real treat to try.

Cheers!

Thanks to suitcase for sharing this one.

Pours a small beige head. Color is a ruby hued amber.

Aroma: A ton of raspberries, but very acidic with vinegar flavors. Oaky with some spice. Lemon citrus. Pretty fruity.

Taste: Very medicinal and acidic. A lot of raspberry and fruity flavors. Oaky with a touch of spice. Fairly one dimensional for a sour.

Mouthfeel: Tart and sour. Lighter bodied with a lower amount of carbonation. Ends clean.

Overall: This was alright, but nothing too special. Just not to much going on here. Somewhat drinkable.
