Pours a light yellow color with a faint head.

Smells a little bit skunky, with a little bit of a mineral hop note.

Taste is crisp, and pretty clean without that skunkiness I smelled. It is a little bit creamy from the malts and slightly sweet. Finish is crisp, and almost seems fizzy like mineral water.

Mouthfeel is fairly full, but comes off a little too carbonated and fizzy feeling.

Drinkability is ok. There isn't much here in the flavor department, but it's not horrible, and it's cold, so it's at least refreshing my thirst.

Bottle from Sardinian supermarket. Another bland, weak pale lager. Very malty in the aroma and taste, dry finish with chalky character. Slight hint of lemon in the palate.

Bottle my parents brought back from Italy

Very pale blonde colour, one finger of white head, dissipates quickly with no retention. Smell is mostly malty, biscuity, some mineral like notes, slight grassy characters. Taste is quite bland and fairly tasteless, bread like malts are the most distinguishable flavours if you don't count cold and wet. Light-med carb, slightly watery, light body. Not very good, for the style I guess its ok but I would never seek this out again.

My Italian sucks so I was excited to see this can of Splugen with the big 3 LUPPOLI on the front which I understood to mean 3 varieties of hops. Maybe that's what they have at the factory but if theyare in this beer, they are well masked. Appearance is a very pale straw yellow. Gave me about 2 fingers of head then quickly dissipated. Smell is slightly floral and slightly malty but lacking any character. Taste is below average to me, no heart, slightly maly, slightly bitter but uneventful. Mouthfeel is not horrible but still, noithing special. Blends with all the other euro lagers from the low end factories paying social benefits to uninterested workers for their life. Overall, not impressed, especially after they bragged about 3 hops. I guess if they didn't brag I never would have known...

660ml (a uniquely Italian size) brown glass bottle served into a Westvleteren goblet in Rome, Italy. Reviewed live

A: Half finger head of no cream at all, bad thickness (i.e. it's thin), and terrible retention. Clear yellow colour.

Sm: Stale lemon esters and bad barley. A light scent (thankfully).

T: Artificial cream, generic barley, and slight bad malt. Very simple and crap. Imbalanced.

Mf: Too smooth, too wet. Artificial. Doesn't complement the flavours.

Dr: Below average ABV, poor quality, fair price, and bad drinkability. Avoid. This belongs on the shelf - and not for aging.

Poured from a bottle purchased at a local grocery store on Lido Island near Venice, Italy 6 17 09 for about one Euro. Poured into a clean, clear glass. Review from notes.

A Lager with a minimal head. Boring.

S Minimal barley smell.

T No hops. Only slightly more complex than the recently sampled "Forst," a horrible Euro Pale Lager.

M Thin, near water.

D Poor. I did not want to finish my glass but I did for the sake of the review.

Notes: Another disspointingly boring Euro Pale Lager.

This beer pours a straw yellow with an essentially non-existent head. Smells like skunked pilsner malt, hops, and maybe a hint of citrus. Not much else there. Taste is pretty much the same, though the citrus kind of disappears to leave a bitter, sulphuric watery beverage. The feel is par for the course--it would be plain bad if it weren't for the carbonation.

Borderline offensive, I would hardly call this drinkable. It's hard to find a beer that I just don't like, but here's one of them.
