Thanks to Alex for this one. Poured into mini-snifter.
A - Pours a dark brown, thin collar, bubbles on top, with a slight head that vanishes quickly.
S - Brown sugar, malt, caramel.
T - Brown sugar, malt, caramel, sweet candy-like finish.
M - Medium, light carbonation, creamy finish.
O - Solid, good for the style, very sweet and malt-forward.

25cl courtesy of bosse. Batch 62, holdbar 2/10/12. That would make this beer about 3.5 years old I suppose. Served in a tasting snifter.
A - An aggressive pour roused a finger of light brown foam that eventually settles to a thick collar. Very dark brown body, and a few spots of lace remain as it's consumed.
S - Intense brown and burnt sugar, caramel, roasted grains, maple, and light oxidation. It's enormously sweet and malty in true English barleywine fashion.
T - The taste has a bit of residual earthy hop bitterness as well as some spicy alcohol esters that cut the sweetness, but a part of me wishes it was a straight-up malt bomb like the aroma. A bit of oxidation has crept in as well, and unfortunately not in a complementary manner.
M - Thick, viscous, full body, with low carbonation and minimal alcohol heat. Pretty much spot-on for the style.
D - I get the sense that Sean didn't dig this as much as I did, so I ended up drinking the majority of the bottle. It's a solid English Barleywine that has held up pretty well and masks its alcohol content well. Still, I don't think I'd be putting down multiple bottles of this one. There are much better and easier-to-obtain examples of this style out there.

Bottle@Tastingsession.
A: Orange/Redish with a creamy, small, head.
S: Ripe fruit, Butterscotch, Malt, Caramel.
T: Ripe fruit, Caramel, Malt, Caramel, Butterscotch.
M: Not much carbonation in this one but oh so sweet and filling. Almost creamy. Absolutely no alcohol anywhere in smight. Smooth!
One of the best barleywines i've ever tried. Wish i could try it again!

Poured from a 25cl bottle dated 021012. The beer is ruby amber with a frothy beige, 2 finger head. Retention and lacing are good. Sweet and spicy malt. Smells of sugary maple, caramel malt, and a mild earthy hop aroma. Smells a bit like crème brûlée
Very sweet and sugary. Reminiscent of a Belgian Quad. Burnt caramel and toffee flavors accompany light fruits. The alcohol is noticeable but relatively hidden considering the 11%. The finish is very rich and the caramel malt leaves a lingering sweetness on my tongue. For a brief moment I feel a slight numbing sensation toward the back of my tongue. The numbness quickly goes, but the alcohol and caramel linger.
Medium-Full bodied with good carbonation. An impressive Danish offering.
