A - Red beer with a little bit of yellow on the edges. Off-white head that left some fat lace on the sides of the glass.
S - Caramel malts, little watered down.
T - Taste is a very boring and straight forward red that is a touch lacking in flavor. Basically just a red beer with caramel malts. Has a slightly fruity finish on the end that is nice.
M - Medium bodied, lower carbonation.
O - Boring beer, wouldn't get this one again, but it doesn't taste bad.

On tap at the brewpub - Dec 20, 2007. Light grain and brown sugar aroma. Faint. Pours a mostly clear ruddied amber. Head of off-white. Flavor is a light, thin dry grain sugar and fusel nips. Hops show as gummy in the backstretch. A really underwhelming red ale.

Pours a dark amber, small thin white head. Aroma was pretty faint. Some caramel and malts to it. Taste was initially sweet malts with hints of caramel, but a relatively strong bitterness came soon after as it went down. Body was a little on the thin side. Overall, wouldn't mind getting this again at the pub, but nothing speciail.

On tap at the brew pug as part of their sampler...Pours a light copper, hint of amber, light tan head...The aroma is tons of caramel, light rye but that's about it. Too much caramel on an amber...The taste is really dead, a really super light amber ale.
It doesn't taste bad or good, just not a whole lot here, worth skipping.

On-tap at the brewpub.
Huh, well they call it a red, but this looks more like a light amber a la pale ale. The taste isn't too far off for an amber/red, but it reminded me of Middle Ages's Grail Ale, a ringwood amber. It had creamy, sweet caramel malts, without any sharp crystal malts or hops. Really there aren't any hops going on, but that's ok. It tastes ok and is pretty drinkable. Worth trying if you stop in Grizzly Peak.

Sample at the brewpub: Pours a dark amber color with a thin ivory head that lasts awhile. Thin rings of lacing. Faint malt and sweet fruit aroma. Smooth, medium body with a sweet caramel malt flavor. Some hops are present, but not a lot. The finish is sweet roasted malt and it doesnt last long. Not very impressive overall.

Another Grizzly Peak recipe brewed and bottled by Jolly Pumpkin. Dusky amber, clear, topped by a gauzy, glass-crawling, beige-white head. Spicy fruit mixes with sour candy, lemon, and apple cider vinegar. Smells like a Jolly Pumpkin brew to me! Light toasted biscuit malt up front. Quickly turns to sour cherries and tart candy. Gets more acidic, with light fruit undertones, and dries out in the finish. I think this batch underwent some wild fermentation! The thing is, even though I don't think this is what was intended, it's pretty good! Still, I would really like to try an "uninfected" bottle/pint of this to compare.

Dark red, lots of lace, well malted down, caramel, and noticeable malty aroma. Lots of different malt and hops and fresh and refreshing. Sweet aftertaste, but not cloying. Easy mouthfeel, good transition suggestion. Would keep this around as a standard in my fridge.

I don't like a lot of Grizzley Peaks' beers, but this is one that I'll drink. It's a bit sweeter/maltier than most any other reds I've had, and that's a little shocking at first. I definitely like it better on draught than in a bottle. But by the second bottle I was over the shock of that sweet taste and was able to enjoy it a bit more, though it was still the dominant flavor. Mouthfeel was just your typical non-hoppy ale. Mild carbination, et cetera.

Undated 12oz purchased at Village Corner in Ann Arbor. "Brewed and bottled for Grizzly Peak Brewing Co. by Jolly Pumkin Artisan Ales LLC, Dexter Michigan". The label goes on further to state," Five malts are used in brewing this wonderfully drinkable British style ale. A careful blend of caramel malts lends smoothness, and gentle hints of roasted malt in the finish."
Clear dark amber under an inch of vanilla. The head falls to a layer of foam in a couple minutes yet it clings to the pint glass and leaves lots of wispy lace.
For all the talk of malts on the label, this has quite a bit of hop aroma. Cascade? There's also a slight tartness in the back. Faint, but its there. Is this gonna have some weird Capt. Ron funk like the GP Pale
Ale?
I found the malts! Good dose of the caramel that is tempered by just enough hop bite. A bit roasty towards the end which is a nice clean finish.
Moderate mouth that fits in nicely per style. I could sip a few of these after tossing a frisbee around the Diag or taking a stroll through the Arb, or maybe even after dropping tons of quarters at Pinball Pete's.

This arrived at our table topped with a creamy, off-white head. Deep red, clear beer. Good head retention and a little lacing was left behind. Mild aroma overall, some caramel and a bit of hop. Sweet and malty with low bitterness. There's a restrained citrus hop flavour that adds a bit of depth to the character. Short, clean finish. Medium to light body with a smooth, almost creamy texture. An easy drinking red and another good beer from GP.
