Far and away my favorite distributor. Great selection of micros and imports for the building size. Locals are well represented with Troegs, Victory, Lancaster, Stoudts, Sly Fox, Weyerbacher, Springhouse, etc. Tons of domestic micros like Stone, Bells, Terrapin, Brooklyn, Sierra Nevada, Anchor, Smuttynose, Dogfishhead, Flying Dog, Flying Fish, Oskar Blues, Great Divide, Bear Republic, River Horse, etc. Great place for cases of good beer, plus they carry out your beer while you pay. Never talked to anyone there about the beer so I don't know how knowledgeable the staff is. Nonetheless, highly recomended.

I've been a regular customer of Wheatland Distributors for many, many years. Their selection is very good and the prices are reasonable. They pay attention to the prices of their competition. I know this because on a number of occasions, I've found their price to be a penny less than their closest competitor. They have a great variety cold as well. If you want German Lagers, English Ales, Belgian offerings, etc., they have some real good choices. As far as micros, they do a very nice job with selection, including an obvious focus on variety cases, which I think is a plus. The prices are not on the cases. They're in the book. The book hangs on the pole just to the left of the register. It's on a hook and customers are encouraged to take the book with them as they go through the store. When I walk in, I'm greeted with actual customer service. A couple of weeks ago, when I entered the store I was asked if there was anything special I wanted. I smiled and said "Yea, I want an Ommegang Variety Case." The employee said "nice choice, and do you want it cold?" It came to the counter, I paid, and as always, it was put carefully in my car. Oh, and they'll card the kids, because they care. I recommend Wheatland.

Ok folks this the place to go for cases in Lancaster. No other place has such variety. Keep in mind it only cases which sucks and cuts down on selection in this shop, but still very nice. They have all the local stuff, midwest stuff, and all the others. The building itself looks tiny but they have a lot stuffed in that place. I do like the locals they carry but have not seen any weyerbacher their. They have many mid west breweries that other do not offer. Overall if your in need of a case in the Lancaster this is your place.

The is the closet distributor to my house. I used to shop at this place a lot before I purchased a kegerator and found Kirchners. The selection is very good but a little pricey. The one thing I didn't like was their insistence on carrying the beer to the car for you even though you don't want them to. I believe they also have 2 pack minimum on cigarette purchases.
I prefer the service I reciew at Kirchners. They offer a bigger selection of harder to find brews as reasonable prices. Plus they even stock micro brew kegs ranging from 1/6t to 1/2 kegs.

I decided to check out wheatland last night and was pleasantly surprised. It was based on gfb108's recommendation. I was greeted kindly upon walking in and directed to the cooler which had plenty of local craft variety packs among other assorted imports and macros. I was assisted later with a price by someone who was stocking and given some good info on specials.
The place is very well organized if not a little tight for space. The climate was reasonable and the clean environment was welcoming. I was able to find everything and the craft selection was close to the door which is convenient putting the macros closer to the back seems wise. I found the selection to be very good with plenty of fests like Otter Creek, Brooklyn and Pumpkins like Smuttynose. They have some unique locals like Intercourse brewing, Spring House as well as great regionals -Founders and Southampton. The selection will definitely bring me back and the prices are so reasonable it is hard to imagine another distributor besting Wheatland

Quality: Plenty of rows of beer to walk through and select. Looks like most of their stock is already on the floor b/c of the overall abundance. Tall shelving for the beer. You can also buy cigs and lottery tickets if that's your thing. Buy the beer cold or warm.
Service: Good. Workers ask if you need help. They probably have some knowledge of the beer but not extensive. My buddy used to work there. They take your beer out to your car if you want them to. Cool.
Selection: Pretty good. Again, they get their stuff from Kirchner. All the local craft brews, LBC, Stoudt's, Weyerbacher, Victory. Some imports. Nothing crazy.
Value: On par or lower than normal PA prices. Worth going and buying. See if they have something you like. They put stuff on sale quite often.

I live on the east side of Lancaster and this is on the west side, its a good 30-minute drive from my house. So while it is not far, I had never been here before. WOW, was I impressed. Not that out of towners would necessarily be so awed, but this is by far the best selection of micro brews and craft beer in Lancaster County. They had cases of Weyerbacher: Winter Warmer, Blithering Idiot, Insanity, and more. Tröegs, Mad Elf, Rugged Trail Nut Brown Ale, Sunshine Pils, and more. Victory, Storm King and Old Horizontal. They even had other Micros that I am not familiar with, these are just my favorites.
The store is relatively large, open and spacious, very conducive for leisurely browsing. The have a convenient price list hanging on a pillar just inside the door, that makes it easy to see what they have from various brewers and what the price is. The service was remarkable. When I walked in the door a woman immediately asked me how she could help me. I told her I'd never been in before but I wanted to price some micro brews she directed me to the price list and showed me where to start browsing. I was shocked that a place like this exists here in Lancaster.
The prices are about what I'd expect, maybe even a good deal. Victory: Old Horizontal and Storm King both about $45 a case e.g.
I'd highly recommend stopping in.
I thought the prices were a good deal until I found Chester County Beverage http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/13153/?view=beerfly&ba=Phatz
This is closer to my house but heading East instead of west. I usually have little reason to head that direction and it crosses over the county line out of Lancaster into Chester County but while the selection is not nearly as good as Wheatland Distributors the prices are much better.
Hope this is helpful.

They had the full range of regional brews with your choice of any Stoudts, Victory, or LCBC brews. They did also have some hard to finds with British, German, Southhampton and Lagunitas selections. Gets extra points for all that, including a 12 pack of Stone smoked porter. For the usual beer wasteland that most "distributors" in PA usually are, this one seemed like a welcome treat.
Help wasn't much, though I believe that they'd be able to help me discern Pro wrestling moves and find the best menthol price in the area. Beerwise, they appear to be macro luvers.
Prices were reasonable for the area. Cases of Stoudts for only $19.
Overall: From the other reviews, there definitely appears to be better joints in the area.

Visited store for the first time after seeing listing on Beer Advocate.
Had a very large selection of North American Microbrews, along with lots of german and British Beers. The selection was larger than most stores in the Lancaster area. This is the first store that I have seen stock any Southampton or Lagunitas products. One problem was that prices were not marked so I had to ask about every item, Prices seemed comparable to other stores in this area. The big problem in PA is that to get a reasonable price you have to but a case and there's always the chance of being stuck with 23 bottles you hate. I will be back soon to make some selections. Store seemed clean and the stock looked fresh.
