Served on tap at Dockyard in Bermuda.
Pours clear golden. See through, and with very little foam to interrupt. Very light taste, almost watery. Straw smell, which is nondescript. Barely any hop.
Very clean, but little if anything going on here. A minimalist approach to beer.

Had this on 6/8/11, but just found my notes now; didn't want to try to guess and enter without them.
Very pale light yellow. Description at The Frog & Onion says straw-colored, but it's lighter than that.
Nose is faintly of hops and yeast.
Tastes okay and somewhat refreshing. There's not a lot of flavor, but more than a Big Brew lager.
Decent mouthfeel; foams up nicely, and somewhat creamy.
Not a bad lager. I'd have it again, but wouldn't ask for it again.

6 oz. pour, sampled at The Frog & Onion (The Dockyards/Bermuda).
Apparently all North Rock beers are now being brewed by Dockyard Brewing Co., on premises of F&O. NRBC then sells them at their South Road pub under the same names.
Description (from menu): "Brewed in the Pilsner style, this light, straw-coloured beer is delicately hopped with the finest European hops giving it a satisfying crisp flavour with a dry finish. Great brew to accompany the lighter meals.". ABV not listed.
A: Straw yellow, very pale and weak-looking. Generally clear but with few rising carbonation bubbles- a bland look for a lager. A thin coating of trailing white lace and a scant creamy head.
S: Traces of clean grassy hops with a hint of citric tartness. Cracker-like maltiness can't conceal a bit of off-putting metallic twang.
T: Fleeting cracker-dry grain gives way to a quick bite of hops. Finish is a long chalky bitterness.
M: Doesn't feel very crisp. It's notably thin, but still manages to seem a bit chewy with a lasting graininess that doesn't marry well with the dry hop finish. Kind of a mess, especially considering it's a 'light lager'.
D: A light, rather weak example. ABV seemed to be in the 4-5% range. This may sound like a good pick on a steamy hot day, but I'd probably opt for a glass of ice water instead.

Sample at the Frog & Onion in Bermuda: Pale yellow-gold color with a thin and foamy white head. Patchy lacing on the glass. Light hoppy aroma persists throughout, along with notes of grass. Light-bodied and effervescent with a clean hops flavor, as well as a bit of fruit. The finish is mildly bitter hops with a short fruity aftertaste. Overall it is decent.

Very pale straw color, no head to speak of. Not much in the way of smell, nor in taste for that matter. Very watered-down, very bland. If you have the chance to visit the North Rock Brewing Company, don't bother with this one.
