This one pours up a very clean and clear gold with a one finger head, not much retention, and not much lacing. The nose is lemon, honey, oranges, and biscuit and is a fairly strong smell. Taste is a lot of citrus followed by a goodly amount of spicy hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is nothing special. I enjoyed this one and recommend it.

A: The beer is slightly hazy yellow in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a finger high frothy white head that died down a bit but consistently left a short head covering the surface and some lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Light to moderately strong aromas of citrusy hops are present in the nose - orange and grapefruit seem to stand out in particular.
T: The taste is similar to the smell and quite citrusy but only has a light amount of associated hop bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This is a nice easy to drink IPA if you like citrusy flavors but don't want lots of hop bitterness.

A: Pours a lightly hazy medium golden yellow in color with moderate amounts of visible carbonation. The beer has a finger tall white head that fades to a patchy thin film covering the majority of the surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate aromas of floral and citrus (orange/orange peel) hops over lighter aromas of caramel malts with some light pine hops.

T: Moderate amounts of caramel malt sweetness with slightly stronger flavors of citrus (orange/orange peel) with some more subtle hints of pine hops. Moderate bitterness.

M: Medium bodied with moderate to heavy amounts of carbonation.

O: Enjoyable and easy to drink, this would make a nice summer session beer for warm evenings. Nothing exceptional but a solid offering and one that has improved since Foothills took over.

Poured from 12oz bottle into HF tulip. Pours a hazey orange with slight quick head and some slight lacing. Very strong bitter rye malt aromas with a big hop presence and very mild citrus. Its meh...
Flavor is on the malty side. Really taste like a rye IPA. Im getting some citrus and crisp fresh water type flavor. Its a bit bitter; not the good ipa kind, but a little harsh. Its a better than average brew, but not an amazing ipa.

A: Pours a light yellow orange. Really clear after hop haze/chill haze wears off. Not a ton of head, it's bright white what is there. Doesn't leave much lacing.

S: Smells really soapy. Almost like a bad homebrew I made once (sadly). Moderately fruity hops. Nothing crazy. Biscuit malts.

T: On the tip of the tongue, you get a good amount of pine not citrus. Then some fruitless comes in along with malts. Mild breadiness. Close is dry with a mild bitterness.

M: Light leading medium.

This was a gift to me from my friend, San Knocken. Today seems to be a good day for me to drink some IPAs, whether from bottle or CAN.

From the bottle: "True to its roots, this American IPA delivers on the floral, hoppy notes that made Cottonwood Endo a Boone favorite. 100% malted barley and copious amounts of Cascade, Magnum and Chinook hops do the trick, artfully brewed by Foothills."

I was relatively gentle with my pour, but the intense carbonation still produced a finger of bone-white head with decent retention. Color was a light golden-yellow with NE-quality clarity and loads of CO2 bubbles. Nose had kind of a grassy quality, perhaps from the intermingling of the hops. Mouthfeel was medium and the taste was both earthy and grassy, very reminiscent of a wet (fresh)-hopped beer, although that process may not have been used in this case. Finish was semi-dry, very tasty, with a lingering earthiness that lent a tea-like mellowness to the beer.

Poured golden orange with a finger of bright white head. Floral aroma with some mild pine.

Moderate carbonation and a full mouthfeel. Floral notes up front followed by tangerine, orange, honey, and gentle pine bitterness on the tail end.

Nice hop/malt balance here...good IPA.

Picked up a bottle while out at the Outer Banks, NC. The bitterness isn't huge, but there's a nice array of citrus juice hop oils with a mild herbal edge and lingering bitter rind. It would have trouble standing up to the heavy hitters of the style, but you consider this a tasty summer-weight IPA and great BBQ companion. Certainly a beer I'd pick up for the beach again.

Poured into a snifter on 8/7/12

Light, slightly faded, tangerine color. Foam is on the lesser side - I managed to get only 1/3rd inch of bubbles that didn't care to last long.

The aroma is simple and fairly clean with notes of floral hops, tangerine, lemon, citrus candy sweetness, caramel and bread. It isn't what I usually care for, though not entirely bad for an "East Coast" IPA.

The hops fare better taste-wise, but not exactly by leaps and bounds. Sharp citrus a la grapefruit, lemon and orange peel set out before and candy/floral sweetness grips the mid-section. Caramel and bread are moderate on the back half. Raw bitterness moves in on the finish and lingers.

The feel is bordering on brash; the body is taught and snagged by high carbonation.

Overall impression - Seems like this better than I remember in the pre-Foothills days. While I'd call it a pretty average IPA, it ain't a bad sippin' beer for the summer time.

I can't say this beer is bad, it's just nothing special.

Pours a nice color, thin white head.

Smells like "beer" with a very faint citrus smell.

Tastes similar. Some malt, some hop, just not enough of either to really stand out.

Mouthfeel, again, it's just bland.

Overall, I'm glad I only paid a $1 for it, but then again, I didn't pour it out. If I didn't review it, I'd probably forget all about it.

I just sat down and popped the cap off a Foothills Cottonwood Endo. This beer poured nicely into a pint glass, with a cloudy amber look & a great 2-3 finger head.

First sip, sweet to the taste! Smooth in the mouth & the transition from sweet to a light bitterness switched over nicely! These flavors rolled together, which I enjoyed very much & the great taste lingered on the taste buds for awhile. It wasn't like you needed to go back & chase the taste because it stuck around. Very good!!!

I also enjoyed the aroma, which came with every sip & the lacing was excellent. Happy nose, happy mouth from beginning to end. Definately the hang loose sign to Foothills Brewing, WELL DONE!

I haven't done a review in awhile, but after drinking this one I felt an obligation to come do one.

I bought a six pack at Harris Teeter. Poured into a New Belgium Tulip.

Appearance is a golden copper clear with lots of carbonation bubbles rising up through it. The head was not very large, but didn't go away. The lacing was small bubbles, but not much.

The Smell was a a sweet citrus hoppy one. I didn't notice a floral smell until I drank some.

The Taste was citrusy sweet with a good bitter aftertaste. Nothing to blow your socks off, but still solid. For an IPA I usually expect more bitterness, but this was still good. The malt was subtle, but there.

The mouthful was smooth and carbonated. I could finish the whole six pack in an hour.

This beer to me is a great bridge or session IPA. If I had a brewpub and needed a consumer grade IPA it would hopefully be as good as this one. I'm going to give this to my yellow fizzy beer friends to see if they like it. It is just a good balance between extremes.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass. Light amber in appearance, very clear, with a one finger white head that dissipated quickly leaving behind minimal lacing.

It had a faint citrus aroma.

Taste and mouthfeel: I just didn't find a lot going on here. I was hoping for more as this is brewed in Winston-Salem, a short drive from here and I've had some decent beers at their brewpub.

This might be a good IPA for a person to introduce themselves to the style but it is not a hop bomb or for someone who finds most IPAs over the top on hops.

[Best served in a Shaker glass]

The pour was a clear medium amber with a large (2-3 finger) white frothy head that diminished down to a large collar and a few puddles of residue which produced some excellent sheets of lace.

The aroma was very light of a floral hop, straw malts and a moldy yeast with a nice subtle note of caramel.

The taste was mildly bitter sweet with a note of caramel early on and then became harshly bitter and with a good hoppy feel at the end. The flavor hung on for quite a while, with a good strong hoppy taste that faded away slowly.

Mouthfeel was light in body and dry in texture with a medium carbonation.

Overall a decent IPA with a nice strong bitter finish...

Pours a bright orangish copper with a quarter of an inch of soft, white, foamy head that fades to a thin layer. The nose is quite floral and fruity with some citrusy notes. There are also hints of light malt and some underlying alcohol. The taste is lightly bready malt up front followed by some light grapefruit and apple-like fruitiness and then finishes with a big, earthy, bitter, piny hop bite. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, but quite crisp and a little bity.

This isn't a bad beer by any means. The malt character is lacking in my opinion and some of the fruity notes didn't seem to mesh well, but overall it was enjoyable.

Fair if a bit tepid and unremarkable IPA

Presentation: 22 oz brown capped bottle. Simple label framing a landscape of hills over a brown background. Back narrative notes background and main characteristics. Shows SRM 4.5, IBU 66, and 6% Alc. by Vol. Served in a tulip glass.

A - Clear deep gold pour, small finger of good foam with fair retention and surface memory, alongside rich touches of lacing.

S - Nose is fair but rather soft, lemony, grass… very tepid.

T - Somewhat better in the palate, with a longer hoppy note but not that long, citric, light floral and resinous note, over a soft biscuity note.

M - Medium-light body and carbonation a bit bland at point.

O - OK, it is not a bad brew, but nothing to remember here...

Notes: Probably the most forgettable of the offerings I´ve been lucky to try from Foothills. Maybe the bottle faded? I took it from the brewery… But either that or this is a soft entry point IPA at best.

Straight clear gold pour with 1 finger of near white head. Thick, active bubble streams. Very good head retention and thick chunky lace.

Nose is floral hops, with esters underneath. Light pineapple in the mix. Getting a bit stronger with each sip.

Taste is floral hops and a woody, earthy malt background. Soapy, floral finish. Light pine notes, but really a stretch to feel them. Bit of pepper in the finish, too. The flavors are nice, but for an IPA I really need more strength to them. They serve as more of an accomplice here.

Feel is very nice, with a bit of cream and very smooth. Not overly thick.

Overall, I remember this being richer with flavor the first time I had it at the pub in Boone all those years ago. Not bad, though.

A: Poured from a bottle to a pint glass. Had a golden yellow color and a clear texture. There was a half inch of foamy, somewhat long-lasting head. Pretty good lacing.

S: A typically IPA aroma: Hoppy, citrusy, and sweet.

T: Tasted of hops (not too over the top), citrus, and some malt in the finish. A decent, well rounded flavor that's a bit more subtle than I expected.

M: A well-carbonated beer that's a bit slick in the finish. Medium-bodied.

O: On the whole, this is a solidly made, easy to drink IPA.

Stopped by the pub for some Sexual Chocolate after work yesterday, after which I decided on this as my "cool down" beer.

Came out a crystal clear orange, no haze at all. Nice finger-width foamy cap. Good lace sticks to the glass. Smells fresh with lemon-lime, orange zest, grassy hops. Not too sharp, but just a nice pleasant citrus aroma. The body is easy-drinking. Moderate-to-light body, good carbonation, clean finish.

My buddy got the Hoppyum as his "closer," so I took some sips to compare this version to their standard IPA. I've also had that one many times, so I had a nice comparison. Where that beer is juicy and fresh-tasting, this beer comes across a little muted. This is more like an IPA-light. Definitive bittering hops, but there is no lasting flavor on the finish. Mild citrus, slight peppery flavor. Finish is a little dull.

All in all, I much prefer their Hoppyum to this one, but it wasn't too bad. I may have it again, but most likely will reach for better tasting IPAs when available.

Enjoyed on-tap in a mug.

A: Pours a light to medium golden color with a 1 finger head and nice lacing.

This one seems a bit...unusual. The first thing I thought when I tastes it was that it might be a Belgian IPA? But, no. It's isn't. It's just very soapy with a fruity tone to it. Kind of an odd tone to it, though still pleasurable enough to drink. A bit too bright and twisted in that area for an IPa, but it's drinkable.

deep mahogany tinted amber with a smallish half inch or so head, that quickly faded leaving nothing but a thin film. No residual lace, and only a slight bit of visible carbonation.

S - Very sweet, lots of candied sugar mixed in over a nice citrus hops with a good malted back, very well balanced aroma.

T - Nice bitter IPA taste. A bit sweet, and definatly an east coast IPA as the the major harsh citrus hops were definatly not that prevelenet. An average IPA/

M- Very smooth, somewhat slick, not alot of carbonation on this. Not a very dry finish, taste did linger.

D - Fairly high on the drinkability scale as this was definatly a gulper. I could see myself throwing down quite a bit of these to be honest. Not bad at all but pretty average.

Overall not bad for a regional IPA. I would try it again, but would not buy it in great quantity.

I am not sure what is going on, I see that Carolina Brewing once had an ENDO IPA....however, according to the menu and bar tender Foothills has taken over brewing the ENDO IPA. I am trying this at the Taste of Carolina in Councourse B of Charlotte airport. The beer is a pale yellow with thin white head that is lacing slightly. The smell is mostly floral...not much pine of citrus to note. The taste is also mostly floral....like corriander, etc. I am guesing Columbus hops were used...but do not know for sure. The mouthfeel is light to medim with decent carbonation. Overall this is a decent beer...a bit to floral for my liking.
