Dating system on the bottle is unclear. There's a full 12 months and 3 years printed but not way of determining anything there.

Poured into a pint, pours clear sunflower yellow. Little white head, no lace. (But I share the pint glass with dirty hippies) Aroma is sweet, grainy and bready. Butter comes in as it warms. Little in the way of hop aroma. Taste is grainy, moderate bitterness and a slight astringency in the finish. Again butter comes in as it warms. Medium body.

I can't take a APA with a buttery note.

Enjoyed this beer on tap at Nimbus Brewery.

A: Pours a golden hue with a thin white head that ends in a solid persistent lace.

S: Malty lager aroma.

T: Equal malty and hoppy flavors mixed together.

M: Medium carbonation and medium body.

O: Just an ok pale ale.

12 ounce bottle - $1.99 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Appearance: Pours out a hazy, pale copper-hued body with a small-sized, everso off-white head. A few stray pencil points of lace on the descent.

Smell: Slender pale malts with a mild aroma akin to damp, crustless bread. Faint, vague sweetness in the background. The citrus notes aren't particular powerful, but agreeable.

Taste: Soft pale maltiness with a thin sliver of crisped grains. Drizzle of house-made golden syrup for a noted sweetness. Hop flavors of lemon and white grapefruit, lightly pithy, though not overly bitter. Drying, citrusy, but, again, not particularly bitter.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-plus carbonation.

Overall: While I enjoyed it, those looking for the hop character and bitterness to give you what for may be disappointed. I appreciate the relatively low ABV's for the Nimbus beers thus far.

Enjoyed in a taster glass at the Tucson brewpub. This pale’s been hopped four times with a combination of Cascade and Columbus.

Soft and spicy nose, with grass, lime and orange peel. Smooth caramel and big biscuits on the malt side.

The flavor steps up the malt. Biscuits, raw sugar, orange peel, some grass. Bitterness slides in after the swallow. Clean and crisp.

The body’s a notch under medium-light, with moderate electric carbonation that tingles the tongue. Mild fizz.

Nimbus’ pale isn’t bad. A little dull, perhaps, but a step above Sierra Nevada Pale Ale in complexity.
