Thanks to the legendary woodychandler for this beer. Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a cloudy yellow color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is sweet, grains, malts. Tasteis also sweet, malty, a bit of grains, very easy drinking. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall would be a good beer on a hot summer day.

this one is a little underwhelming. pours a clear brassy color, a little more orange than the pilsener style usually show up looking like. there is about a half an inch of white fizz, but it fades quickly. the nose is rather generic, especially on malt front, which doesn't work in a Czech pils where those grains are supposed to be the stars of the show. this one misses that mark considerably, but from an American standpoint its not a bad beer. more hoppy than a lot of these, and light enough in mouthfeel to be very sessionable. a balanced, beginners beer I like to call it. like training wheels for craft, its familiar enough to the BMC stuff, but made to a much higher quality standard. could be a good gateway beer for that reason. could use a little more carbonation, but overall I thought this was slightly above average.

This beer has won some awards, and I'm not sure why. It's a good beer, but it seemed to me to lack the hops of a Czech Pilsner. There's just not much zing in it.
Still, it looks quite nice. The head is dense and medium sized atop a light golden, clean beer.
Aroma is soft. Biscuit and hints of caramel, some zest and florals. Not much.
The malt is more intense in the flavor, but not a malt bomb. It takes over the hops that are trying to come forward. I think if it had a touch more hops then this would be worthy of medals. Right now...or at least the 2 I had...it falls a bit short.

Review from BeerAdvocate Magazine Issue #49 (Feb 2011):
Big-bubbled white lace, polished golden color. Smells of the Old World, with hints of sulfur, grape skin and dried grass ... very Pilsner lager in the nose. Sufficient crispness with a smooth, creamy lighter body. Maltiness is fresh: doughy biscuits and baked crackers. Hops prick the tongue with some bitterness, and grace the taste buds with a uniform but very flavorful herbal tone. Clean, very clean ... actually almost immaculate other than that very faint sulfur flavor. It would be pretty hard to pick this one out in a blind tasting amongst its counterparts. The biggest flaw this beer has is that it is not in tallboy cans.

Pee-pee gold, topped with a thin, white head. Nice and clear, with good head retention, but no lace.
Really not much in the way of aroma. A light, bready sweetness and a whiff of floral hops. This one isn't giving anything away.
The flavor opens with sweet pils malt. Not as hoppy as I would like, this is more towards an american palate, with lower bitterness. Some spicy, floral hop flavor in the finish, with a touch of artificial cherry candy flavor in the aftertaste. Grassy throughout. Reasonably clean, but not as assertive as the best examples of the style. A robust medium body, with peppy, forced carbonation. Despite being loud, the carbonation helps with the drinkability. If it were softer, I think the sweetness would overtake the palate. Good, but not great.

Poured into pils glass
Pours 1 finger of off-white head. Decent retention once it fades down. Leaves some lace rings. Color is a clear golden yellow.
Aroma: Pale biscuity malts with a skunky nose to it. Some grassy hops. Nothing pleasing.
Taste: More skunky flavors here. Bready malts. Grassy hops. Not much here. Maybe some grains.
Mouthfeel: Crisp and skunky. Light bodied with a medium amount of carbonation. Ends dry.
Overall, it is hard to enjoy this because of the skunk flavors. Most American takes on this style don't have it, but this does big time. Not drinkable to me.

Was looking for an easy drinking beer for a Sunday night, and went to grab a six pack of Mama's Little Yella Pils, but saw this one and figured I'd give it a shot. It's solid, but nothing spectacular. Pours a golden yellow color, with a good white head. Aromas of biscuits, caramel and just a hint of hops. Pretty similar on the palate. Not bad.

A - Poured out a clear, bubbly golden-yellow color with a small, white, fizzy head of foam. It left some soapy residue on the sides of the pint glass.
S - It smelled of caramel, grain and floral notes. Basically, it smells like a pilsener should.
T - It has a nice sweet caramel flavor upon first sip. It has a crisp but mild bitterness from the Noble hops. There's even a touch of citrus.
M - It was very crisp and sharp with a dry finish. A light bodied lager that is very easy drinking.
D - This is a really nice German-style pils. It makes a nice starter beer before digging into a meal a Pug Ryan's.
