Just picked up about $65 worth of beer here. Made the 35-40minute commute from the Eastside specifically due to the good things said about their beer selection. I was NOT disappointed! I found a bottle of Hennepin for $5.59 and a bottle of La Chouffe for $7.79 - great deals! Also picked up many classic brews that I just haven't tried yet and am looking forward to. Given this is really a grocery store, service isn't exceptional but I did run into someone while perusing the beer aisle and he was very friendly and more than happy to answer my questions.

All in all, great location if you live in the U-Village (I don't, but still...) and awesome selection of local NW beers as well as Belgian imports. Very impressive for a grocery store. Almost rivals Bottleworks, but Bottleworks still has the edge due to their massive selection and vintage stock!

If you're visiting or live nearby, this is one stop you must make for many a beer run!

I stopped in here to use the bathroom after leaving the Big Time once and wow!! What a place. besides being a chain grocery store I saw lots of good brew too. They had a lot of bombers and plenty of sixers. They ahd some locals from Tacoma, Seattle area brewers and surrounding areas. I saw Dick's and Fish from Olympia there as well. It was reasonably priced too. I guess they wanted to draw bizness from thr UW students who appreciated GREAT NW beer. I wish this place could have been down the road from me when I was in college. If in the area, down in the U you should check it out and bring some cash.

This place saved my ass several times when I couldn't go far but wanted good beer at U-Dub.
On a recent visit I went again, and despite my greater beer knowledge was nearly as impressed with the selection here. I think this beats some of the Top Foods selections, which short of Bottleworks have generally been my best experiences selection-wise in the state of Washington.

I picked up several bottles of Son of Spot, Elysian's exceptional Dragonstooth stout, some Allagash reserve bottles, and a few other more widely distributed but no less excellent offerings like Obsidian, 90 Minute IPA, etc.

The number of beers in the coolers is impressive and appreciated. I don't ask for, no do I receive much in the way of personal service in here, but as long as the corner grocery store has a selection like this, I think it'd be hard for any BA to have much complaint. Prices weren't the cheapest I've seen but to beat the price/selection a University Village resident would probably spend much more than the difference in gas. I'll be back, probably right before the next UW tailgate/home game.

Considering the fact that this is a chain store, the selection of beer is fantastic. Having a lot of experience in the chain markets of California, I can say that this place blows away any store in the southern part of the state (CA). There is a 40 foot shelved section of cold tasty craft brews. Several local beers like Elysian Brewing Co are represented, giving people a taste of the Pacific Northwest, along with a nice selection of decent imports. The section had a nice mixture of 22oz bottles, along with the customary six-packs. The best part of the journey is heading back across the store to an impressive selection of imported and domestic cheeses, meats, olives, etc. Great beer pairings at your finger tips. Opens early enough to grab your tailgating brews for the Seahawks game...good times.

We went to Seattle to visit my girlfriend's sister and brother-in-law. The brother-in-law is a chef so we decided to cook dinner but we needed to go to the grocery store to get food. Now, being from Canada and haven't been in the States for a while, I forgot about how liberal the government is about where one may purchase beer. While at the QFC, people started talking about getting some refreshments and I thought "oh yeah, there's a liquor store across the street..." so we walk up an aisle and turn a corner and what I see next is like out of a dream. Coolers filled with beer! And beer I have never heard of. Many american micros I've heard of but never tasted, craft brews from here in Canada, european ales and the typical macro crap most people call "beer."

Long story short, I always keep looking forward going back to vist the in-laws so as to try a new beer. Oh, and the price is pleasantly low (compared to canada).

The QFC on Broadway has everything that the University Village store does and then some - and they're open 24 hours as well. You can get more types of DogFish Head, some in 4-packs, one or two more types of Chimay, everything that Elysian bootles, Kwak (one of my all-time favorites), a couple of Finnish brews, more Belgians than you'd believe you could find in a grocery store, and occassionally, when the stars are aligned, "Gouden Carolus 'Grand Cru of the Emporer'" - which is absolutely amazing. I'd say this is my favorite beer ever.

This is incredible. QFC is a chain grocery store in Seattle. They have 24-hour stores every 20 blocks or so throughout King county, and nearly every one of them is overpriced and mediocre. The University Village QFC, though, stands as a shining beacon of sensibility valiantly floating amidst a sea of inadequacy. This store has a truly amazing selection... Allagash, Dogfish Head, more than one Trappist... all in a (admittedly gigantic and nicely appointed) 24-hour grocery store! Unfortunately, Washington's liquor control laws allow these folks to sell their alcoholic wares only until 2am.

This store is the only candidate in Seattle when it comes to buying beer between the hours of 10pm and 2am.

Don't expect anybody at the store to give a damn about what you're doing there (at least between the hours of 10pm and 2am). Wtih 1.0 - awful service, though, comes the chance that the poor cashier will scan your $8.99 Dogfish Head Raison d'Extra and decide that it mistakenly rang up under the 6-pack price and should actually cost $1.50.
