Bottle lists the beer as a limited small batch release and describes it as an oak aged imperial porter that is brewed with chocolate. The bottle cap and neck is coated in a white wax.
Poured into a Dogfish Head glass.
Pours a dark, dark brown/black color and formed a light, soapy tan head that grew to about a finger in width and settled into a thin film within the first three minutes or so. When swirled, the lacing initially coats the entire area and then breaks down into an oily, spotty appearance.
The beer has an extremely pleasant nose. The aroma of chocolate is the biggest and most forward flavor. Dark, roasted malts, caramel, toffee, raisin, plum, and a hint of vanilla are present. There is a slight oaken or earthy aroma in the background.
Mouthfeel of the beer is medium with moderate-high carbonation. The initial flavor is a sweet chocolate with subtle vanilla/caramel that transitions into an oak flavor that then becomes a smoked, bitter finish with a slight hint of hops. The finish is dry and has an aftertaste of bitter, roasted malts with a slight chocolate undertone.
Extremely drinkable and well balanced throughout.

Poured from a 22 ounce bottle into a brandy snifter.
A: Dark brown, cream-coloured head that fades fast.
S: Musty beans, smoked(?) chocolate malt. Not that great.
T: Woah. Hugely sweet, creamy, and immensely tasty and complex. Smoke? Yes, nice porter. Strong? Yes, imperial porter. Chocolate? Sure, but it's bittersweet and not overwhelming. Bourbon-oak-vanilla sweetness. The aftertaste is bitter dark chocolate and lingeringly interesting.
M: Rich, smooth, and delectable with a hint of bite.
O: Everyone else liked it more than I did, but this was damn tasty and does what it does well. Recommended.
