Pours a mocha brown with a thin head that fades into a sticky ring.

Light smell of Oats and burnt Coffee. Not a very pleasant or inviting smell.

Not a bad taste but a little thin for what it could be. I'm thinking it could be a Goose Island Oatmeal Stout. O wait, it is [for the most part], just a tad bit watered down. Very mellow hop and oat flavor rolled up with an over burnt coffee flavor. Not a horrible beer but it could be so much more!

It's a very smooth and easy to drink beer. It's a watery version of GI's oatmeal Stout. Decent but just could be so much more.

Yeah it is drinkable. More so than many.

Appearance: Looks exactly like black coffee. Little foam, moderate lacing.

Smell: Malty, with a slight hint of chocolate.

Taste: Muted malts: chocolate, coffee, roasted oats. Just a hint of dark fruits.

Mouthfeel: Medium to full bodied, very creamy. A hint of coffee bitterness in the aftertaste.

The Verdict: Not bad. Smoother than many oatmeal stouts, but it could use a touch more raisin flavor and some hops to kick it up a notch. One of the best values for your money if you’re in a stout mood (5.99 a six pack at Trader Joe’s).
