Poured from my Growler filled at Joe Canal's Iselin into my Firestone Walker Nonic Pint Glass

Appearance - Pours a hazy yellowish orange with a fairly active tight white head. The head remains and leaves a clingy lacing that extends far up the glass and remains.

Smell - A very limited initial nose with faint aroma of lemons. Nothing overpowering in the aroma to tell you what awaits. The aroma is slightly tart, but in no way overpowering.

Taste - A lite citrus taste with a yeasty backbone, back this very tasty funky beer. There is a subtle saltiness, mixed with the yeasty nature of the beer that balances out the citrus / sourness that is apparent, but well balanced. This is a very flavorful and complex taste profile, but not deep or heavy tasting. A hint of spice which I suspect is coriander, just based on the similarity to other spicing in wit beers. A tang of sourness is apparent, but this is not sour, but mildly so, funky, not sour.

Mouthfeel  - very crisp and very tightly and fairly highly carbonated with a yeasty residue, very similar to the residue from the  wit beers, or a mild hefeweizen. Almost no bitterness is apparent, except for a slight spicing.

Overall  - This is a very pleasant, drinkable and unique beer. The complex yet light flavor profile makes it extremely drinkable, and the subtleness keeps you sipping away. I had this style once before while living in Germany, it is unique, refreshing and definitely  worth seeking out. Sixpoint created a unique and drinkable beer and we are beneficiaries.

On-tap 2/7/2013 at Julian’s in Providence, RI, served in a tulip glass.

A: The beer is a cloudy gold color, with a short white head that fades slowly and leaves a thin lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains wheat, esters, some citrus and light caramelized malts.

T: The taste starts out with sweet flavors of citrus and some caramel. Then some sourness comes in along with some wheat and malt breadiness. The hops presence is very mild but complementary and provides a decent balance. The after-taste is slightly bready and slightly sweet.

M: Smooth and very crisp, light-to-medium body, medium carbonation, finish is clean and dry.

O: Tasty and complex, goes down easily, not too filling, mild kick, good representation of style, this is a solid beer to drink if you’re in the mood for the style.
