Served on tap in a 10 oz chalice glass

Appearance – Served a golden amber color with a one finger white head. The head fades relatively quickly to give a lighter level of lacing.

Smell – The aroma is quite light overall. Some hop aromas of a citrus and earthy aroma. Creating a base are some sweeter smells of a tropical fruit and melon nature.

Taste – The taste begins with a bready base and a grapefruit hop taste. There is a lighter melon and tropical fruit taste upfront that fades fast as the taste advances. While the fruit taste fades, other hop flavors of an earthy nature come to the tongue. At the end a rather earthy/musty bitter hop flavor are left to linger on the tongue.

Mouthfeel - The body of the beer was rather average in terms of thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that was quite average as well. Overall the feel was decent for the bitter hop and breadier flavors of the beer, but was nothing too exceptional.

Overall – I liked the hop flavor that was left on the tongue, but other than that it was nothing too exceptional. I like the idea behind the Spice of Life series through and would recommend others to trying the beers if they get a chance. I look forward to trying more.

On tap. Pours a hazy dark sraw color with over an inch of head. Lots of lacing. Nose is a bit faint. Some citrus and tropical fruits but they are subdued. Flavors of melon, orange peel, and some other tropical fruit flavors I cant quite figure out. Slightly dank with more bitterness at the end. Has some qualities that are more reminiscent of maybe a Belgian IPA. Medium bodied. Got to say I'm a bit disappointed with this one. Overall, an average beer from a great brewer that I probably won't get again.

Served in a shaker pint glass at SmallBar - Division.

Review #2600! I have no idea what hop is really in this, as I've never heard of a "Summer" varietal, but I'm game anyway. It pours a clear brass topped by over a finger of cream-white foam. The nose comprises grapefruit peel, lemon peel, light soap, and grass. The taste brings in more of the same, though the soapiness is toned-down (though not altogether gone), flowers spring up here and there, and there's a twinge of light biscuit in the very back. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a fairly dry finish. Overall, a nice little IPA, though one that doesn't wow or anything. Not bad.

A- hazy gold amber. Creamy foam white head with decent retention and lacing.
S- a little plain but there's some light tropical fruit and a little resin
T- bitter, a little fruity maybe of the tropical persuasion.
M- medium body and smooth, light lingering hop bite
O- underwhelming aroma takes away from an otherwise nice ipa

Poured from tap into pint glass at Terrapin in Rhinebeck, NY. Pours a hazy golden hay color with nice foamy head. Great citrusy hop aromas, maybe mango and sugar sweetness. Really nice aromas! Taste is very mango and citrus hop with a nice sweet malty balance. Very low bitterness, but the hop flavor is great. A really nice IPA. As always, nice job Sixpoint!
