I have tried a bunch of Sixpoints and every one has been a surprise. Sixpoint ales seem to always be unique and very tastey.
Opening this you are greeted with a pungent, yeasty brew. Going for such a rich taste they could have easily messed up and gone too far, but it totally works. It has just the right wheat tartness to make it a really interesting beer.
Don't think that this is a light weight summer wheat. This is a serious beer. Like all other Apollos, this is one to have again and again.

let me preface this review by saying I find Sixpoints cans to be a little off. Not NEARLY as good as on tap and I'd argue that they are entirely different beers because the cans are contract brewed and kegs are brewed in Brooklyn. Better quality control in Brooklyn for sure. I've gotten skunked Sixpoint cans.
however, that being said, i think this is their best canned offering.
A- Nice pale, deep straw color that has a golden hue to it. very slightly cloudy from the wheat
S- bubblegum, a little citrus, sweet, pretty delicious smelling. no real sign of hops other than aroma.
T- this is a great sessionable option. a bit sweet for a full session but it's a great one nonetheless. wish there was a BIT more hops just cause Sixpoint tends to have a nice well established (although a bit predictable) hops profile with their beers.
M- they always nail it with this. a little creamy from the head but other than that, a beer that begs to be drank. great stuff from em.
O- not really wowed by this but could be enjoyed by any and all. looking forward to having it on tap at Pony, Blind Tiger, Rattle n Hum, Ginger Man, Etc. will update with another review when i have it on tap because i'm sure it will only be better.

wow. sixpoint nailed it on this one. clear, burnt gold color with an off-white head that holds and leaves proper lace. nose wafts clove, banana, bubblegum, melon and wheat exactly as it should and also carries a faint, almost flinty kind of rustic note as well. taste gives me just what i expect. clovey banana bubblegum melon bread in excellent balance. body is as full-bodied as light beer comes. spice and colve all the way with no overstated or unpleasant aftertastes and no alcohol detactable at all. to me, this is perfectly to style. tons of good things to say, but so spot-on, it almost needs no hyping. this it the stateside hefe-lover's kristalweizen supreme. very very good job sixpoint.

This is beautifully clear with a nice head and decent spots and streaks of lacing. Head has varies a bit with the pour and a vigorous one is well rewarded. Moving the score up from 3.5 to 4.0. Smell is stupendous with large amounts of banana, vanilla, clove, wheat malt, and bakery bread. The nose is so close to perfect to me that it almost pains me to score it as I do. Same with the taste. It follows the nose with clean rich flavors of juicy melon and banana, clove, cinnamon, light pepper, bubble gum, wheat malt and bread. Finish is very clean with light toasted grains and cinnamon to balance the superb banana clove spice notes. Feel is light with a spritzy carbonation and smooth overall swallow. This is one of the most drinkable beers I have ever had. At or near the top of the class. A great overall beer and one I am loading up on for the time being as this is one of this hefe head's dream beers. Just super and super drinkable. I'm in love!

Brilliant golden in body topped with marshmallow head that stays. Beautiful aroma of vanilla, floral, honey, and bubblegum. Great flavors here: floral, herbal hops, vanilla, juicy citrus, gorgeous output from the wheat and yeast. Light in body with medium carbonation that tickles the palate. Really well done. A perfect beer for the summer, hell, perfect for anytime of year.
