Poured from a can into an imperial pint.

Hazy golden in appearance. thin white head.

Smells of tart lemon and stone fruit.

Tastes lemon, wheat and tart at the end.

Effervescence fits this beer well, and helps deliver some of that tart finish.

Really lovely summer offering. Good out of the can as well.

On the box, it says: Best by July 29, 2013:

Thanx to a non-BA for this going away present:

Into a weizen:

A: somewhat hazy yet clear yellow/orange body, one finger white foamy head that rapidly dies, some carbonation is seen rising

S: bubblegum up front, some light malts coming through very sweet, slight banana/yeasty aroma trying to come through, some light cloves are there too

T: very sweet (bubblegum) and malty, slight banana/yeasty and banana aftertaste, dry finish

M: medium, semi-sessionable, adequate carbonation

O: as much as I`ve been wanting to try this for a long time I`m actually slightly disappointed as I`ve had all 4 and this is just me: though I`m not an expert on kristalweizens, it seems as though there`s just too much "bubblegum" all around, mostly just an average kristalweizen IMO, I`d seek out other "kristals" before this one

A - Hazy golden-amber coloration; nice bubbly white head that retains and laces along the glass nicely.

S - Green apple, lemon rind, coriander, and pepper, some yeastiness to it.

T - Beer immediately hits with a sourness and finishes with a tartness. Very nice, balanced flavor evolution through the sip. Flavors include green apple, papaya, tangerine, sage, coriander, wheat, pepper.

M - Light to medium-bodied. Less carbonation than you might expect (could use a bit more in my opinion - not that I care for carbonation). Sourness/tartness lingers after each sip but clears thereafter if you're sipping it.

D - Quite an interesting beer. I really enjoy this. I will definitely be getting this again. Another impressive offering from Sixpoint.

On tap at Kickbacks in Jax. Poured into a snifter. Fluffy, large white head, high retention. Slightly hazy, golden body, with soapy, sticky lacing. Aroma includes banana, bubble gum and banana taffy. Taste includes similar flavors. Certainly slightly different than a hefe, more hazy than expected for a kristal but overall quite tasty and I would think easy to drink for amateurs and beer geeks alike.
