Poured from a can into a Sam Adams Perfect Pint glass.

Pours a very nice amber - looks beautiful. Very light head, about 2 fingers, doesn't stick around long. Very subtle lacing.

Surprisingly disappointed in the lack of smell, given other reviews I was expecting more. Lacks the strength of other IPAs, but what I get is nice and balanced. Floral and hoppy.

Very nice flavor, smooth, very hop-forward. Hop flavor lingers in a pleasant way, no real bitterness sticks around. You can definitely taste the 9.1%.

Not highly carbonated, syrup-y. I like the characteristics more than I thought I would - it matches well with the flavors.

Overall, it's a good, but not overly impressive DIPA. I like what they've done here, Resin is definitely the right name for this one. Glad I have a 4-pack to try this again, but there are quite a few other DIPAs I'd prefer.

Appearance: Hazy golden amber. Initial pour left a dense two finger head. Not much retention though. Lots of lacing. This looks bright, crisp, and refreshing

Aroma: Floral hops. Some pine and grass. Some sweet grapefruit perhaps. Definitely some pear and apple fruity esters. Possibly even some bananas. Very sweet smelling. This may be one of the best smelling beers I've had

Taste: Malt forward then big smooth hoppy finish. Banana bread. Caramel. Dry apples. Really nice start. Resiny (appropriate) piney hops. Tart grapefruit finish. Faint metallic aftertaste but not unpleasant at all. Awesome

Mouthfeel: Creamy and a little oily. Really nice spiciness

Overall: I'm thoroughly impressed by this beer. Not typically a fan of the style but I really enjoyed this and am eager to try more by Sixpoint. Pick this up
