Thanks to JW77 for this one.
A: Pours dark black with a small tan head.
S: Simple aromas, coffee, chocolate, and a blast of roast.
T: What you smell is what you taste. Fresh coffee, chocolate malt, with a nice roasty undertone.
M: Fairly light in body, good carbonation.
D: Good, falls short of great.

nice black-strap molasses nose and similar mouthfeel. Wish I could pick out the origin or blend of coffee used, but not totally positive. The malt, coffee, and hops seem to have a great balance in a brew that could easily be dominated by any one of them. Certainly has body to it and enjoy the back palate on this brew quite a bit. Another ringer from Sixpoint.

Thanks goryshkewych for sending this one my way!
Poured a dark brown color with a large sized off white head. Aromas of coffee, roastiness, chocolate, a little earthy, and lighter vanilla. Tastes of coffee, chocoalte, and roastiness.

Received in trade from Shane at sixpoint, hand bottled at the brewery, thanks for the opportunity and generosity.
Pours a dark brown with faint garnet highlights when held to light. Huge fluffy tan head sticks around forever and coats my glass all the way down. Smells of coffee, roasted grains and bitter dark chocolate. Tastes of coffee, chocolate, roasted grains. Creamy silky mouthfeel, medium body. medium carbonation. Another exceptional brew from sixpoint. Send your beer to NH already :)

I got this bottle in a trade with Nutbrown. Thanks Alan!
This pours a dark brown with some reddish highlights. There's a very small head of foam that shrinks quickly but it still does have some good lacing until deep into the session.
The smell is on the light side but I get some notes of coffee and roasted malt with a touch of sweet malt.
The taste is a bit more assertive than the nose. Good, but not overly done, flavour of coffee with light chocolate, some roasty malt tones, and a light sweetish flavour, with some bitterness, that comes through near and through the finish.
This is not the most complex coffee Porter I've tried but sometimes simpler is better. Oh and the alcohol doesn't come into play here at all as it's an easy drinker.
The mouthfeel is medium and the carbonation is also medium.
Drinkability? For the abv, it's damned easy to drink and, well, the fact that I like how the flavours are tickling my palate helps too. Overall, I favour this brew and can easily recommend it if you can find it.

Hand bottle courtesy of Shane poured into a pint glass.
This is a great looking porter with a deep mahogany hue and a huge creamy tan head that maintains a cap for the duration and leaves big sheets of lacing.
The aroma is dominated by the English malts but with plenty of coffee and chocolate in the nose as well.
The taste is slightly more complex than the nose with the same English malts as a base. There is a more noticeable hop presence up front with a slight bitter kick before the dark chocolate and coffee take over. The finish is a slightly bitter combo of coffee and hops.
The mouthfeel is unbelievably creamy and pretty full-bodied for the style.
This is a top-notch porter and one that I would be drinking a lot of if I had access to it. Thanks to Shane for the opportunity!

Thanks to Shane for the bottle.
12oz. unlabeled bottle poured into a tulip.
A: Pours nearly a solid black, very little light. 2 fingers of light mocha head forms pretty tight and holds nicely. Decent lacing.
S: Some light coffee notes and a bit of starchy chicory like aroma. Light roast and a bit of sweetness. Very subtle.
T/M: More of the light coffee and starchy flavor. There's a decent amount of alcohol, bringing some light fruity phenols. Plenty of roasty flavor as well, bringing some bitterness to the table. Carbonation is quite high, making it feel like a Belgian hybrid? The Bolshoi I had from Sixpoint Craft Ales was the same way, very unique. A touch of tartness in the back with the fruitiness. Body is medium to medium full with strong carbonation to lighten the feel a bit.
D: ABV is up there a bit. Tasty and very interesting.

A - Pours pretty darned close to pitch black. Light mocha head, thick 1.5 inch. Slowly leaves. Clingy sudsy lacing.
S - Coffee, coffee, coffee. Some Soy and Anise, too.
T - Wow. Heavy frothy coffee mixed with dark toasted malt, some chocolate at finish.
M - Medium, creamy, nicely balanced.
D - For the style, very drinkable!

Pours black with some sediment evident, a good sized tight fluffy head slowly dissipates with a good deal of lacing as it does. Aroma is a nice mix of cola, roastiness, some sweet malts, and a really nice chocolatiness and dark fruitiness. Flavor follows with a good deal of chocolate and vanilla coming through in the flavor, some earthy roasty and nutty notes, a bit of a cola tanginess and a slight coffee bitterness towards the finish. Mouthfeel is medium in body, but fairly full feeling in the palate with the help of the nice creamy carbonation. A hint of pepper on the tongue and a somewhat dry finish. Very good porter, flavor and drinkability are high but I must say I have been very impressed with the mouthfeel on all the sixpoint beers I've had the pleasure of trying. Just the right amount of body and a beautiful creamy carbonation. Well done. Thanks Shane for the opportunity.

Bottle - Pours a brownish/black - with a small tan/caramel head. Strong smells of strong dark roasted coffee. First sip is pure coffee - strong and bitter. Slight hint of bittersweet chocolate. Finishes bitter and very well carbonated. A coffee lovers beer.

12 oz. bottle poured into a nonic.
Pours a cola black with a monster three finger tan colored head takes its time fading to a thin layer of bubbles. Some spotty lacing clings to the sides of the glass, but not much. Smell...I hope you like coffee. Big French roast java and fresh espresso followed by sweet caramel and cane sugar. Some dirty hops and mocha in the nose as well. Without taking a sip, I could see a lot of people that would mistaken this for a fresh cuppa joe! If you like your coffee black and your beer bold, this is the beer for you. Bitter Columbian blend coffee flavors up front with some musty earth hops that follow. Molasses and dark chocolate midway with a dry birch aftertaste. Very smooth and robust in the mouth for a porter, I like it a lot. If you're a coffee lover, this beer is not to be missed. I would love to have the chance to try this one on cask, maybe someday ;) Keep up the good work Sixpoint!!

Bottle courtesy of Jeff from Sixpoint.
A: Pours jet black with hints of ruby around the edges. Huge coffee colored head. Some lacing.
S: Smells like coffee and some dark chocolate.
T: Lots of coffee and some bitter chocolate in there too.
M: Almost creamy mouthfeel, nice thickness, well carbonated, a little bit sticky.
D: Doesn't taste like 7.8%, but that would probably keep me from sessioning this beer.

Thanks to PEBKAC for this glorious handbottled gem.
It pours a thick, viscous dark chocolate with a proper thick fluffy froth. The aroma is chocolate and espresso - but not too assuming. The taste builds with more coffee flavor and a bitter dark chocolate bite. I loved the creaminess of the body. Very tasty.
I'll hold this up with Berkshire Coffeehouse Porter and AleSmith Speedway Stout as the triad of truly phenomenal coffee flavored ales.

Not as prominent a coffee smell as some; we recently had the Kona Wipeout Porter, made with Kona coffee, and that had much more of a prominent coffee nose. Doesn't have the roasted character you might expect, more sweet than deep roasted. Pours a nice clear brown, lot of lace in the head. A little thin for a porter, but nice color, very drinkable.

Thanks to PEBKAC for this. Sent as part of Brews N Tunes 3.
Pours black with maybe a slight brown highlight underneath the head. Great head that sticks around with bubbles constantly rising.
Don't detect too much coffee in the nose. Mostly chocolate and figs. Maybe a touch of black patent.
Awesome coffee taste with a nice acidic finish. This a straight to the point coffee porter.
Chewy, creamy, light and fluffy.
I wish I had more than one.

Served on tap at Comet Cafe. Appearance is a dark muddy brown with two fingers of billowing brown head. The nose is rich chocolate and dark roasted character with moderate char. The taste is deep coffee paired with roasted barley and a bit of bitterness at the finish. Mouthfeel I some

Delicious. And just how I like my occasional coffee. Gotta keep this short leaving for vacation, but quite simply one of the best beers I've had this year.
Coffee, cream and sugar. With notes of chocolate and even a nice hop presence making this a little at bitter at times. But mostly sweet beautiful coffee, did I mention cream and sugar? Yes, please.
Outstanding. Get some? No get more.

This is not a style I typically reach for but I thought I would give it a try. I am happy that I did this is a nice sipper. Being that it is early June, I will try to find this in the winter when I think it would be great.
Overall- enjoyable though a bit too citrusy which has surprised me.

Had it on tap at the City Beer Hall recently. Review entered from notes.
A: Body is dark brown, nearly black. A small light-tan/beige head rests on top.
S: Bigtime coffee. Roasted coffee beans and roasty malt.
T: Coffee and roasted barley malt. Heavy on the coffee, which overwhelms everything else. There is an earthy, roasty bitterness towards the finish, and as it warms and I can get past the coffee (a little), I get some chocolate. Lingering coffee aftertaste is no surprise.
M: Medium-plus in heft. Carbonation is moderate.
O: Decent. Too much coffee for me.

Common American Porter flavors of chocolate and coffee are exacerbated with coffee infussion and higher rates of chocolate malt for a fuller and more intense session. Keeping the beer medium in weight and the citrus hop character well within balance , there's a lot of finesse that goes into this dark masculine ale.
The Porter pours with a creamy and velvety appearance. Mildly hazed for a richer and denser effect. Creamy carbonation matches that of the liquid and retains wonderfully with an understated tan cap. Lacing well, the beer holds onto its structure very well going down to the final sips.
Rich aromas hit the nail on the head with the full brunt of coffee and chocolate. Backed with supporting notes of caramel, nuts, citrus hops, grassy hops, and a note of earthy woodiness. Very appetizing to say the least.
Flavors come across even stronger than suggested by the nose as the beer continues to up its game with every turn. Richer chocolate flavor, more intense coffee, and more background heft of caramel and nuts. Hoppy components of grapefruit, freshly mulled grasses and pine resin develop the right amount of flavor at the middle palate and developing into a slim bitterness to balance the malt focus in finish. Surprisingly, the flavors of all these element are vivid and well placed, the beer alludes the heavy sweetness that often accompany these flavors. This, and with the absence of any detrimental flavors make this a highly enjoyable session.
Velvety and rich to start as the supple carbonation plays softly on the palate and helps to create a sensation of richness when joined with light caramel sweetness and milk chocolate notes. The creamy chocolate starts goes toward coffee thinness in the middle, before turning decidedly malty-dry in finish where the hop resins and moderate alcohol warmth set in wonderfully. A linger of coffee and chocolate form the lasting impressions of the focused and varying beer.
Absolute delight is the memory that I'm left with as the beer finishes out. Surprisingly drinkable as all of these flavors are on prominent display and with the right amount of malty sweetness to inform the sweeter taste but to keep the beer lighter and easier to drink than it should.

On draft at The Lark, East Northport, NY.
Poured a deep black hue with a one finger foamy white head. There was good retention and lacing.
The smell featured spent coffee grounds with a bit of caramel.
The taste consisted of dry coffee, charcoal and a slight caramel malt.
The mouthfeel was typical of the style.
Overall a tasty porter. Coffee infused beers are not my thing, but this was enjoyable.

Pours a clear deep brown with amber highlights. A thick one finger tan head dissipates into a ring around the glass, leaving slight lacing.
Aroma is heavily roast coffee, with chocolate and nuttiness underlying and accompanied by a malt sweetness.
Flavor begins with slightly acrid roast coffee, which dominates until the bitter, astringent finish. Charred roast malt comprises the mid palate flavor. Notes of chocolate and sweet caramel malt add complexity, with a decidedly nutty aftertaste.
Body is on the light side for a porter, with moderate carbonation accentuating the acrid finish and moderate astringency.
Overall, a very coffee forward porter. The abv is dangerously well hidden. The acrid taste prevents me from loving this offering. But I'm not the biggest coffee fan, either. If you love coffee, this is your beer!

Poured into a snifter, this stuff has a modest head of relatively thick beige foam atop a layer of deep black liquid. The head isn't terribly persistent, but the lacing is tenacious. It may be best served a little bit warmer, as it might benefit the aroma. That said, it has a faint coffee aroma. I expect for the prominence of coffee in the flavor it would smell more of it. Subtle hint of. chocolate behind the coffee. Body is light for a beer this rich. Aftertaste is slightly bitter and earthy. Very pleasant combination of flavors. I'm not a coffee drinker (can't stand that stuff, unless its in beer) but this would be a great way to start the day.

A - Completely opaque, low carbonation (growler so dependent upon serving establishment), nice tan head, lots of lacing.
S - Lots of roasted notes with a touch of hop.
T - Like the smell, tons of roasted malt, I would say more chocolate than coffee...not a complaint, just expected over the top coffee. Nice hop bitterness on the finish, no acrid bite...nice.
M - Moderate body, but nothing too heavy, keeps you wanting another sip. Would not mind a touch more carbonation but this could be the place I get the growler fill.
O - Very solid porter, have enjoy it a couple times and will certainly enjoy it again. Especially like that it is local-ish.

Served on tap at Rattle N Hum in New York, NY
A: Pours a jet black with a tall thick light tan head. The head retention is excellent, lasting 30 minutes while the beer warmed up to room temperature. Significant lacing is observed.
S: Huge aroma of coffee, slightly bitter like the smell of freshly ground coffee beans. Hints of vanilla are also present.
T: Wonderfully full of coffee flavor and coffee bitterness. There are also nice hints of vanilla, roasted malts, and a subtle hint of chocolate in the finish.
M: Medium to full bodied with light to moderate amounts of carbonation. Creamy.
O: Really enjoyable at brunch time, you could almost substitute real coffee with this beer and not notice (other than temperature). Perfect mix of coffee flavors in a beer - nice mouthfeel, great taste, and a pleasant aroma. Definitely one to have again.
