Got sent a 12oz hand-bottle that I *think* is Apollo. I'll update if it isn't.

Poured a hazy glowing gold with a creamy white head that settles to a nice ring and slight haze. Lovely aromas of spicy, resinous hops, crisp wheat, and juicy orange peel. Taste is very close to the nose, clean and crisp with flavors of citrus hops, wheat, and toasted grains. Very drinkable and refreshing. Mouthfeel is crisp, with a medium-thin body and good carbonation. Very sessionable, I could easily drink a few pints of this. Overall an enjoyable beer, whatever it is!

clouded and nice looking golden color. A big head of white coming up and over the top had some decent staying power I have to say. I was quite impressed with nice side glass lacing and the smooth, light look to it. Aroma was a bit off, nice touches of wheat, light grass, and a hint of banana or maybe clove, but it needed a bit more for me to really push it over the top, still through a decent overall presentation. The first sip was very clean. Nice herbal and grainy flavor to it with a bit heavier feel then I normally would have expected. Nice carbonation though gave it a very good overall presence. Lots of bready taste, lots hops coming though, a touch of lemon perhaps in there as well. Light fruit notes mid palate, bananas maybe, light apricot touches

Poured a cloudy gold with good head that stuck around for awhile on top of a spicy and mild citric aroma. A little too leafy/dry for my taste but still has a good balance between fluffy wheatiness and citric lemon zest and some sweet malt tastes in the background. Finishes sharp and crisp and is a great summer beer.

Pours a very dirty honey brown color with a big fluffy head that slowly setting into a nice cap. The aroma is a bit spicy though I cannot quite pick out what spice. There is a very subtle tart note as well. The taste has the same spice, almost tastes like rye. There is some brown sugar sweetness and a light lemony tart bite towards the end. Almost has a buttery taste which is odd for the style. The beer has a moderate feel with airy carbonation; fairly balanced. A different american pale wheat. It does have some interesting flavors which distinguishes it from the herd. The spice and sweetness are different. It's enjoyable but I don't dig that buttery taste that I picked up.

A-Slightly hazed golden orange with a medium off white head that reduced to a thin cap that left light lacing.

S-Light spicy earthiness and a bit musty. A touch of citrus and sweet malt.

T-Sharp and biting spicy hops up front with a nice balancing support from biscuit like wheat malt. Light lemon brightness in the background.

M-Medium-light bodied sharp and crisp with good lingering spicy hop bitterness.

D-A finely made and flavourful American wheat. Very quaffable, making this a most desirable summertime session brew. Needs a touch more up front in the aroma but overall a good beer.

Poured a hazy light amber color, with an off-white head, that didn't lace very well. The smell was surprisingly hoppy for an American Wheat, but there were also floral, herbal, citrus, and biscuit hints. The hoppiness was much better blended in the flavor with more herbs coming to the fore, and a nice biscuit finish. Citrus hints were very, very subtle in the flavor. Medium-bodied, not heavily carbonated (if at all), and silky on the palate. Very sessionable. A very good example of the genre, but was expecting a little more fruitiness from an American Wheat, like some other fine examples such as Flying Fish Exit 11. That being said though, this is a very well done wheat ale.

Got this at the new whoe foods on the upper west side in Manhattan. The best thing about that place is the growlers.

Don't know many other pale wheats, so i don't have much to compare it to but this is another good Sixpoint, a brewery that makes very different kinds of styles; not necessarily the intensely hoppy or intensely belgian.

It's always telling when I look at my notes from a beer tasting and I write three paragraphs for one beer and three lines for another...

This beer poured cloudy and had a nice golden color. The spice on the palate was not coriander (typical of American wheat) or clove - it was more like a white pepper kick. I also was not tasting the banana.

I was not blown away by the beer, but still give it marks of being well-made and I would definitely try it again.

You should have stopped by the stoop sale yesterday. In a serendipitous turn of events the whole block was cordoned off for some neighborhood meet and greet completely separate from our plans, and the street was a wide open swath of squatters and passersby ripe for the kind of bargain you only find when folks empty the contents of their apartments out on the sidewalk. Everything must go, because I'm sure as hell not carrying this crap back upstairs.

First thing, Marilyn sent me and Rocco to the four corners. Armed with chalk, fliers and tape, we festooned the intersections that bookend our block, North, South, East and West corners declaiming: "STOOP SALE =>, We stoop to conquer! Join three generations of stoopers for the stoop to end all stoopage!!! Saint Joan's Place btw 5th and 6th Aves. (All proceeds to go to the Nobdy Family Implosion Avoidance Coalition and Charlotte's Web Lovers of America.)"

Secondly, we set up the sale. The kids interest was kind of hit and miss, but luckily they had their trikes and scooters to keep them occupied whilst the adults haggled over hand-me-downs and the junk that was going to Goodwill later in the afternoon if it didn't sell first. Some of Marilyn's friends came and went with purchases in their pockets--I mean, who doesn't want to help the Nobdy family avoid their own implosion brought on by the imminent move to a new apartment--and even our landlord bought a few things, including the stuffed dog his wife gave Rocco two years ago for Christmas. Woops.

Thirdmost, the day waned on toward the evening of a truly Brooklyn affair. There were skint knees and dirty faces, and for all my wife's work, she walked away $100 dollars the richer. Not half bad for a day's stoop. Mostly hobnobbing and half-truthing the denizens of our block whom we were meeting for the first time after five years just in time for us to move. Eh, whattaya gonna do and fuhgeddaboutit. Life happens. Almost time to head upstairs for bath, books and bed--but before that, Beer.

Fourth and lastly, I head down to the corner, growler in tow. What I'm looking for is something to cut a day's worth of dust at the back of my throat. A quaff to quench this liquid sun that has shone overhead throughout what my son deemed, "The bestest summah day so fah." (He still has trouble with his r's.) Lo, and be-hold, what should my local Bierkraft have on tap but none other than my favorite 6pt brew bar none, the Apollo Wheat--aptly named for the sun god to whom this day we pay homage. That's the one.

And back at home on the couch with the Missus after the boogereaters have gone off to bed, I hoist my favorite mug in silent salute to the forces that have conspired to bring such a day about. These are the kinds of days we endure the rest of the year just to reach. And this is just the beer for such times.
