This undefinable black brew is part black IPA, part American Stout, but 100% Diesel powered. Robust chocolate and roasted flavors, with thick pine hop flavor and aroma.

Reviewed solo served out of an East End pint glass.
Appearance: dark and deep brown with 1 finger of creamy and frothy head, leaving spotty/webby lacing.
Smell: dark over roasted grains.
Taste: opens with coffee bitter as a cofee sour/ dark grainy profile emerges in the middle. As this warms up a bit a dark chocolate and dark malt profile emerges in the middle to finishes as hop bitter sets in leaving a roasted and hoppy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: medium bodied at most, minimal carbonation and rather smooth.
Drinkability: I would have this again paired with chocolate and/or nuts. I recommend this to those seeking a stout that has some coffee profiles with a hoppy twist on the fnish and no real prominent malt profile.

It pours a dark brown and gives a nice one inch off-white, almost slightly tan head about an inch thick and then gently dies to a half centimeter. It leaves some nice lacing. The smell is hoppy and has some slight coffee notes in the background. The taste is basically the same. The mouthfeel/palate is about a medium, maybe close to heavy, kinda creamy, I like it. Overall, good American Stout worthy of having more of.

Pours black with a small head, last poor of a keg. Smells excellent, roast caramel burnt and lots of it, tastes like it smells a hearty stout lovers dream, feels thick like no gulping allowed. Overall a very good/excellent stout

Reddish clear edges to an otherwise black brew, leaning toward brown ale.
Smooth chocolate aroma, with just a hint of piney hops and sour grapes.
Much hoppier on the palate, not exactly a black IPA, but close. Big piney hops, a little citrus, and powdered cocoa.

On tap at the Hat Tavern in Summit. Pours an opaque, foamy hue with moderate frothing. Smell reminiscent of burnt molasses and candied figs. Dark chocolate, espresso flavor. Great stuff.
