Pours a hazy dark orange with a creamy off white head that fades slowly and leaves gobs of lacing. The smell is very inviting, huge hops, pine and citrus are the dominating aromas, with a hint of sweet. The taste is huge, the pine comes through first in a big way followed with grapefruit like citrus, not as bitter as I expected from the smell, but some bitter comes through and extends through the aftertaste. A nice balance for such a huge flavor, the beer is medium, but a good consistency. A great IPA, well done with big flavor that doesn't get annoying.

(copied from blog - written September 25, 2012)
Appearance – Three finger, white head that lasts a long time. Golden orange in color. Leaves a solid lacing as I drink it.
Smell – Citrus (heavy on the oranges), hoppy.
Taste – Just how it smells, heavy citrus influence (especially oranges). Strong hop bite which lingers in the mouth but there’s also a subtle amber-like malt back.
As I’m writing this I’m drinking my second one, and preferring it straight out of the can (it just seems fresher and crisper). I have to give homage to Six Point Brewery for accurately naming this beer because it definitely reminds one of the majestic creature — the liquid is a respectable golden orange and as it disappears down your hatch it leaves a brilliant white striped lacing on the glass and forcefully yet elegantly attacks your taste buds with a combination of carbonation, citrus and hops.

Appearance: Hazy gold/copper. Head is bright-white. Leaves a little lacing. Nothing too crazy going on. Moderate carbonation on the pour. Head drops pretty quickly, but leaves a small cap and collar.
Smell: Citrus, floral, and resin. Citrus hits oily and almost astringent. It’s like overactive citrus oil. Pine and floral mix well. Malts run a touch sweet with some earthy notes. Carries the same odd characteristic of all Sixpoint beer...must be the yeast.
Taste: Pretty mellow. Malts are a nice balance to the hops which come off a little dirty (as in very earthy). Citrus rind. Some grapefruit. Yeast is potent. Almost a peppery flavor under it all. Big ass yeast profile coupled with the citrus hops makes this unique. A bit bready with a slight toasted element.
Mouthfeel: Mediumish body with a moderate to light carbonation. Slightly dry finish. A bit oily and slick.
Overall: A striped housecat.
A bit of an overall letdown. Hop profile is decent, but that yeast damn near kills it. Weird off-spiciness that just doesn't really jive. Still drinkable overall.
