Poured from a 12-ounce can into an Otter Creek pint glass.

A: Pours a very pale and clear golden yellow color with a bunch of carbonation and just a slight head of fizzy foam.

S: Smells of sweetened and cooked grain and corn malts with a little hop zestiness and that metallic can aroma.

T: Tastes fairly clean and palatable, with slightly sweet, cooked corn and cereal flavors to it. There's just a little bitterness in the brew, but I can't tell if it comes from hops or if it's some innate skunkiness.

M: Mouthfeel is light, crisp and sharp to the taste.

D: You could probably session the hell out of this brew, but it doesn't taste that great at all, so I wouldn't know why you'd want to.

Good for killing on a hot day or consuming en masse with a bit of an older, simpler crowd. Fairly iconic, and up there with Ballantine, PBR and Old Milwaukee for that taste of great American mass lagering history.

From a six pack of Tallboys a friend bought for me when he visited friends in Milwaukee.

Poured from a 16 oz can into a mug, served at fridge temp.

appearance: lemon yellow with a 1 finger white head that fades away to nothingness quickly.

aroma: subdued noble hoppiness

mouthfeel: soft and smooth, good for an adjunct lager.

taste: solid malt heft, balanced perfectly with hops. finishes clean. very tasty.

notes: The poor head retention and lack of lacing detract from an otherwise very nice beer. Taste-wise I think this beer edges out Pabst slightly but Pabst is better all around. Still, I could drink this all day long.
