A- Pours a clear, golden color, very thin white head.
S- Light, grainy malts. Some citrus. Grassy, slightly floral hops.
T- Light citrus, grassy, floral hops produce an even but not overpowering bitterness. Lots of grainy hops. Finishes crisp and dry.
M- Medium to light bodied, well carbonated, very crisp.
O- A solid Kolsch, represents the style very well. Very drinkable. This is a great choice for summer or to pair with lunch.

Light body, biscuity flavors. Nice malty aroma with a hint like honey and pollen. A bit sweet and murky. Some sharp flavors. Really just a beery beer. Not as crisp at first as one might expect in a Kölsch, but it does have a tart lemony touch. Slight hop flavor, more on the perfumey side. Looks nice enough, and tastes better at first pour when it's cold and streaming with foam.
A very drinkable and pleasant quaff if you just think of it as a slightly off-kilter lager.

Tasted at Whole Foods in Novato, in their tasting area. Poured into a snifter.
A: Light golden color. Not much of a head with very little lacing.
S: Reminds me almost of a Pilsner. A bit grassy, citrusy but not in a heavily hoppy way. Nice malt smell as well.
T: Malty, grainy, crisp flavor. Definitely grassy and herbal notes.
M: Very clean and crisp. Good carbonation. It is a beer I would definitely buy around the summertime.
O: I enjoyed this guy. I thought it was nice and crisp without being flavorless. For the price, I will for sure be getting more of this guy.

Pours hazy, pale, light yellow. Many carbonation bubbles rising in the glass.
Aroma - a slight sulfur note, lightly malty, very nice.
F - Malty, grainy, with mild earthy hops. There is a light citrus tang. It is initially sweet from the maltiness, but finishes dry.
M - Med/high carbonation plus a medium level malty mouthfeel make it very enjoyable.
Overall a very enjoyable kolsch.

This is a very good kolsch with nice character if unimpressive appearance, at least from the bottle.
Deep gold, it has a smallish fizzy white head quickly thinning to nothing at all.
Aroma is grain, mineral, some apple, grass.
Taste is a good, full kolsch character, light, crisp but flavourful. It has a full grain, fruity character with hints of grass, wild herbs, weeds, etc., and is nicely balanced. It is highly drinkable. Feel is light but firm, zesty, not watery.

Last of the Iron Springs haul....Sad day...ANyway, Pours a rich golden-ish yellow. Head disappears as quickly as it pours, no lacing. Nose is, as my pal commented, something akin to dirty laundry. So far, not so good...Flavor is a weakish, heaty mixture of maltiness with a touch o' da hops. Finish is short and watery. Not great, but refreshing...

Picked this up at Whole Foods/ Petaluma, nice selection by the way. This was a nice pour, clean golden pour with a bright white head. Smell was a bready crisp hop, very clean. Taste came off the same way, very simlilar to Heiner from the Big Easy, very tasty. Overall the beer was solid, had some of the others and was not impressed but this was good, i'll pick it up again.

I haven't had much kölsch (many kolsches?), so maybe it's just the style, but this is only ok for me. It's light, relatively dry and there's a very mild vinous quality to the malt, but I bet that there's more than that to a great kölsch. I'd prefer a stronger vinous note and a richer malt flavor. The hopping is nice, but I always like Hallertauer hops. There's an acrid flavor to the beer that prevents it from being good for a session for me. I'll need to try more beers in the style and revisit this one.

On tap at the brewpub. Poured into a pint glass. Comes in at 4.5%.
A-Pours copper with a smaller off white head that sticks around as a nice layer.
S-Pick up on pilsner malt, some Hallertau hops, and a tad bit of cat pee. The cat pee sibsides as it warms.
T-Lots of German flavor immediately come out from the pilsner malt and Hallertau hops. Get some wheat taste. At the finish it has a nice tart and tangy feel.
M-Medium bodied and quite crisp. Tart and tangy.
D-Very refeshing and has a low abv.
A pretty good version of a kolsch. I prefer their pilsner over this one.
