On tap at the brewpub. Poured into a pint glass. Comes in at 7%. Use crystal and horizon hops.
A-Very clear amber with a half finger white head that sticks around. Lots of bubbles constantly rising from the glass. Nice looking pale ale.
S-Not a huge hoppy nose for being a double pale ale. Floral/earthy hops and caramel malt are detected.
T-Huge level of bitterness right upfront followed by a nice sweet malt backbone followed by more bitterness. The horizon hops give it a minor citrus flavor, but the floral aspects really win out. Some alcohol is detected. After a few sips the taste of grain pops up.
M-Medium bodied with nice carbonation.
D-This is a very, very bitter pale ale. The crystal hops really kick up the bitter. I enjoyed the pint but palate fatigue would definitely hit fast.
I enjoyed this one, but I prefer a citrus hopped IPA. I would order it again.

Had on tap at the brewery. They bill it as a "double strong pale ale", but at 6.75% it is still relatively tame. Pours a slightly hazy medium golden with a tight head and good lacing. The beer smells sharply of grain along with some floral/citrusy hops. This beer is not quite as intense up front as their Epiphany as far as hops go, but the hop bitterness creeps up on you. It is soft and slightly malty up front and then big notes of spice and citrus develop with bitter orange especially noticeable. Mouthfeel is a little soft- abit more oomph to support the hops wwould be nice. All said and done, quite delicious and veery drinkable.

This is a review of the Crippla 5.0, released in the spring of 2013.
This pours a tan amber color with a great foamy head.
There’s a light aroma dominated by fresh, zesty grapefruit notes. The flavor is mildly bitter with more of that grapefruit citrus character squeezed all over the tastebuds. Hoppy, crisp, fragrant and zesty. It has a dry finish. Real tasty.
