This is a decent witbier, though I can't get past the "double" part. I think this beer would be much better as a single, but it's still good. The beer pours to a light yellowish color with not enough suspended particles to give it the white appearance, but very close. The head is nice and rocky. Lacing is there, but could be better.

The smell has a nice sharp orange zest with a none too impressive malt bill. Tons of coriander and other spicing. The taste is better. Strong orange and lemon zest. Not too bitter, but highly spiced. Has a sweet zing that dries off a bit towards the finish. A bit of alcohol in the taste as well.

The mouthfeel is very interesting. A tad bit tart. Fairly sharp from the carbonation, and seems to hit the palate in every possible corner of my mouth. Seems fairly light in body still.

I would say that I'd drink it again, but it's much too expensive to warrant buying it again.

The beer poured into the chalice lightly hazy pale golden straw with a huge off-white and frothy head which rose very tall and fell slowly to coat the glass.

The aroma was fruity with a strong coriander spice component. The fruit was citrus and was oranges and perhaps some lemons. More spicy phenolic aromatics were present with a bit of pepper in the mix.

The flavor was light with a crisp wheat flavor and a very light acidity which was not quite sour, but seemed to be heading in that direction. The flavor contained a light fruity component which was citrusy and mostly orange in nature. The spices in the flavor were muted, but contained slight coriander and a smidge of pepper. As the beer warmed the flavor became more bready in character.

The finish was dry with a lasting impression of oranges and citrus and a light spice contribution of pepper and coriander most pleasantly into the aftertaste. The body was just below medium and the carbonation was very high. The mouthfeel contained a roundness and a presence of wheat. The beer was 7% ABV and contained a bit of alcohol warming. A nice beer that could use just a smidge more complexity in the flavor department.

750 ml bottle, crown capped with a paper wrapper. Bottled on 14 JAN 2006.

Bottled okt 12 2005. Nice presentation with forever lasting head, nice pale golden white clouded beerthat continously has streams of bubles going to the surface. nice is very delicate also giving lts of sour citrussy, koreander and nice hoppy note, litle yeasty note gives it a bite and in the back there is also nice wheaty carracter. overall very fresh and fine.Taste is dry and pale wheaty, barley and oats maltyness next to a litle koreander and some candy. Not bad but missing IMO some body for the high alcohol level or at least a sprakling touch although it has some sourness to it. Good brew that's very enjoyable and probably with fine tuning work done by the brewer even better.
