Pours a clear, dark brown color. 1/5 inch head of an off-white color. Slight retention and slight lacing. Smells of alcohol, slight liquor, wood, sweet malt, and a hint of pale malt. Fits the style of an American Double / Imperial Stout. Mouth feel is smooth and clean, with a low carbonation level. Tastes of slight roasted malt, sweet malt, slight chocolate, alcohol, slight hops, hint of liquor, and a hint of candy. Overall, lacking in appearance, but good feel, body, blend, and complexity.

Had on-tap @ the International Tap House in St. Louis, MO during the Black Friday release of Whiskey Scented Santa event for $4.

Appearance: On the verge of opaque. The darkest mahogany reds at the curves of the 12oz. snifter. Looks fantastic.

Nose: Dark and yet creamy aromas-- coffees, chocolates, dark malt roasts, and a moderately generous bourbon booze behind it all. Yum.

Mouth: Mouth justifies the nose. it is a very well blended and executed taste. Deep, baker's chocolates, moderately dark coffee roasts, an obvious use of sweeter malts to compliment the darkness, all backed up by a fairly sizable bourbon/booze. Masterfully blended. Even with the big booze and the dark roasts, t all wraps up into a very sip-worthy, session brew that s very dangerous. No alcohol whatsoever! SO SMOOTH! Coats the mouth w/o being sticky.

Overall: f you live in STL, this one is worth looking forward to. if you are not, its totally worth trading for if you can get it growlerized. Legit. Should be a Winter Warmer.

Enjoyed on-tap @ the International Tap House in Chesterfield, MO during the Black Friday "iTap Style" Event for $5. Tapped from the Black Tap Handle that has a Santa Claus on the plate & writing too small to make out into a 12oz Snifter Glass.

Aroma- Very rich malty aroma with tons of bourbon and booze behind it. Bourbon really covers up most of everything else but enjoyed!

Appearance- Received with a .5 finger head that dies quickly. Has the deepest amber/reddish body that almost looks black and is definitely on the verge of going opaque. Does not leave any lacing behind.

Flavor- A very sweet, malty flavor starts this off and then has a nice booziness. Has a medium hop bitterness and very clean as darker flavors come out of nowhere! May have spicy hops involved but not sure due to how much booziness is present once again.

Mouthfeel- Medium Bodied, Light-Medium Carbonation, EXTREMELY Smooth, and very mouth-filling. Leaves bourbon on the palate afterwards.

Overall Impression- While being so boozy and malt friendly, this one should definitely be a Winter Warmer (not a Porter). Enjoyed very much and appreciated how smooth this one was! Didn't expect this to happen with the mouthfeel after having such a complexed flavor. Nonetheless, throw this on your "Wish List" for Santa and see if he brings this one to you for Christmas!

The beer pours dark, almost black, with a hint of red that peeks through. The head drops to a nice lace that lingers for the duration of the beer.

The smell is almost all whiskey, but after a few smells, sweet malty qualities come through.

After taking a sip, raisin notes are apparent, and the sweet maltiness that was on the aroma is also in the taste. Whiskey is the underlying taste and lingers after each sip.

With this beer you know what you’re getting. The imperial qualities are there, but the whiskey is the star of this beer. At 11.5% ABV - stick to one.
