Straw color, transparent, with weak head and no lacing. Corn, rice and white bread in the aroma. Weak malt flavor and lots of adjuncts. Slight apple sweetness. Hint of herbal hop. Kinda boring. Smooth, light feel and descent carbonation. Overall, subpar. Nothing to spark my interest here.

The label on the bottle states "Crisp, light, and refreshing, by no other way, can one describe the satisfying taste found in our classic American Pilsner. One of the three flagship beers that opened our brewery in 2004 and continues to be our most celebrated."

Pours a light and clear straw that is classic for the style. The carbonation appears toned incredibly down for a Pilsner topped with just a thin lacing of a head.

Smell is of a malt stew with an abundance of nuts such as pecans and walnuts. This Pilsener smells more like an Amber.

The Amber-esque notes carry over into the flavor with some fruity esters and definite Pilsener yeast. The nuttiness is too much for the style, though, and caraamber/caramel malts blow through with notes of butter and roasty pecans. An amber made with Pilsener yeast does not a Pilsener make...

Mouthfeel is light and crisp; spot on for the style.

Drinkability would be very high if this Pilsener tasted like a Pilsener. At 4.5% it is a highly sessionable beer but too strange to be enjoyed by any Pilsener lover and too fruity to really be enjoyed by any Amber lover... A tried re-invent at a style that, unfortunately, comes up short.
