OK, this is "my" package store.

(I am from Connecticut, OK? We called them package stores).

Anyway, I moved to Peabody a little over a year ago and started shopping around for good bars and good beer stores. I found this one quickly and settled on it.

Very good prices, usually lower than I hear from other folks.

Incredible selection. One of the brewers from Berkshire told me they didn't have much distribution inside I-495, yet this place has Berkshire and most other Massachusetts breweries. Geary's is common. There's an Alaskan brewery represented, almost every kind of Stone you want, and a bucketload of Dogfish. This was one of the first places to have the Punkin Ale up here.

I love the whole Kappy's chain. I have been know to shop this one and Danvers (also on Route 114) on the same trip, and I take Route 1 back from Boston so I can stop in Saugus.

But this one is my home.

This is the place if you live in NE Mass or SE NH. Do not hesitate to make take a drive here . The selection of local and regional brews cannot be beat. They also have a fairly nice national and international sampling of some of the more famous brewers. The guy who orders beer here is beer guy. I'd expound further but you get the point.

This is a nice, large Kappy's located on Rt. 114, across from the NorthShore Mall. There is another Kappy's on Rt. 114, farther West, just East of I-95, but that store has a much smaller beer selection.

This Kappy's devoted about 20% of the store to beer, and had a good selection in the refrigerated case. On the shelves there was a very good selection of imports (Belgians, Germans, etc.), and a good selection of US micros (incl. Stone, Rogue, Victory, Dogfish Head, etc.).

The store is clean and bright, and the staff seems helpful. They do allow you to buy a single beer from a six-pack. One of the beers I purchased was apparently marked more than a dollar lower than it scanned, but they gave me the lower price, no questions asked.

They are open until 11 pm on Friday and Saturday (and 10 pm other nights). I wish there were a Kappy's closer to me, but this one is worth the 25 minute drive.

I got lucky finding this place. I was on a mini vacation to Boston and was on my way back to Pennsylvania after visiting Salem with the wife. We had stopped at some random liquor store going through Salem that offered nothing but Sam Adams and Harpoon and so I was resigned to the fact that I wasn't going to find a good liquor store. On the way to Salem from Boston we noticed a mall area off the highway so on the way back we decided to get off to get something to eat. I of course noticed the large liquor store directly across from the mall. A large liquor store usually means decent offerings so I decided to give it another try. Boy am I happy I did. They have two large aisles set aside for imports and micros. I was looking for things I couldn't get in PA and I wasn't disappointed. They have Stone, Ipswich, Shipyard, Concord, Berkshire, Newport Storm, and many others. Pretty much everything from New England. No one came up to me to see if I had any questions but with me that's fine. I usually don't like to be bothered while shopping. If I have any questions I will ask. The prices were extremely reasonable. Anyway, a good place to stop if looking for New England beers.

A-The atmosphere in Kappy's is great. The store is easy to navigate and they make it easy to find what you need.

Q-The quality of the products offered is solid and there is a good mix of craft and macro brews. They also have a redemption center so I usually take my empties there and use the money earned to restock my supply.

S-Service is very good. There is usually someone there to answer questions and they are happy to help you out.

S-The selection at this particular location is stellar. They have a vast selection of craft brews in the freezer and on the rack. The beer section is set up in a way that makes it easy to find what you want. The beers on the rack are set up in a row with the American craft brews on one side and the imports on the other. The freezers are at the very back of the store with a good mix of craft, import, and macro selections.

V-The prices at Kappy's are reasonable. Usually 6-10 dollars for a six pack and 12-16 dollars for a 12 pack.

This has to be the cleanest of all the Kappy's I have been to. Good stocking of micros and imports, but watch out for the *old* Old Nutfield beer, if it does not have a Shipyard style freshness date don't buy it. Good pricing here for micros also.

I wanted to try Stone, so where do I head? This place is chock full of beers with a tremendous selection. It is clean and well light, carrying most of the hard to find beverages that I desire. Do give it a go.

Stopped in on the way to Rockport on a Saturday afternoon and there were plenty of people in and out, and returning bottles. Selection was about average for big store and above average for a Kappy's. The Belgian selection was a little dissapointing. Found about 4 different beers that I have not seen elsewhere. Anchor small beer, Hacker Pschorr Edel Hell, Affligem Blond in six packs, and Kodiak? brown from Alaska. Prices were right in line with other area stores but had excellent price for Otter Creek six packs ($5.99). Not worth going out of your way for unless you're local selection really sucks, but if are passing through, its worth a stop for a looksee.

They really need to do something about the smell of the return area as you walk in.

This is my first stop when I'm looking for a new beer or just picking up some brews for the weekend. They have a descent selection of micro's and imports that changes frequently, but maintains the favorites to always be on hand. They are also pretty good at carrying the latest seasonal beer selection.

I find their prices very competitive and the location is easy to get to. I do wish they could get some of the harder to find beers, but for the selection and price I can not think of many other stores in the area that can match what Kappy's in Peabody offers.

Easy access off of Rte 114, this is the larger Kappy's of the two along the same route. Warehouse style setup of wines, liquors, and brew. The back wall is lined with cooler doors for macro, import, and craft. Plenty of six pack and twelve pack selections including local, import, and national craft including: Ipswich, Stone Cat, Z Street, Shipyard, Sam's, DFH, Left Hand, Peak, Wachusett, etc. Two aisles of shelves house warm selections. One aisle holds micros exclusive with singles/bombers lining the top shelf that include: 120 min, BBC bombers, Stone, Rogue, Southampton, Boulder Beer bombers, etc. The aisle on the opposite side of the craft selection houses Belgain and other European offerings including: Chimay, Rochefort, Unibroue (7 offerings), Urthel, Samiclaws, etc. The smaller size of craft single/bombers are made up in the selection of 6 and 12 packs, and Belgian offerings. One of the better selections in the area that I've seen so far.
