The champagne of beers, well okay mabye that's pushing it just a bit, but I will say this it's one of the best shittiest beers around. I know that's a contradiction but for the price and being a college student I will live the High Life. Cmon this is a classic beer, hell I even contemplated making it my 100th. It pours a true golden color, already better than budweiser. I will say this is a fizzy golden beer with a highly carbonated get ready to belch foaming head she even leaves somewhat of a decent lace. The aroma is slightly vegetable with a lot of grainy adjunct ridden flow going on here. Not repulsive not complex, it's just beer at it's most simple macro light American lager form. A great crisp sweetness that is balanced by some hop bitterness to form one simple yet classic taste. Miller High Life is a beer worth a try, and when there is other beers attempting to be good around that aren't, I always go back to the High Life because it knows it's not a good beer. Refreshing with a creamy smooth mouthfeel that forms a foamy mustache on me, I love this brew along with the girl on the moon. You can drink this stuff all night it is meant to be swill, and there is no off flavors here or bad hangovers. So, for the style I give it my thumbs up!!!

A - Pours yellow in color, very little carbonation, small head, some lacing afterwards.

S - Scents of sweet malts, hops.

T - The taste is kinda sweet, but very watery.

M - Light body, not much of an aftertaste to talk about.

D - Drinkable I guess. Many moons ago I use to like this stuff.

Pours a pure white, three-finger head that fades slowly to a thin layer and leaving some lace. Light-medium carbonation and light bodied. Crystal clear pale straw color. Nose is ?? Flavor is sweet corn with faint hints of hops in background. Squeaky clean finish. Good lawn mower beer. Better than MGD. The champagne of beers, who are they kidding? $1.25 for a 12oz bottle from Colonial Spirits, Acton, MA.

(Served in a Strange)
A- This beer has a straw yellow crystal clear body with a big bubbly carbonation like soda pop. There is an antique white head that turns to a thin dish soap before soon dissipating.
S- This beer has a dry popcorn hint with a slight musty note and it is otherwise very clean in aroma. As the beer warms there is a faint yeast and green apple note but it is still very light.
T- This beer has a watery flavor with a soft raw grain hint to it and a slight sweetness in the finish.
M- There is a medium-light mouthfeel with a soft mellow fizz that cleans up all flavors in the finish.
D- This beer is very clean but could be a bit more crisp with a little hint of hops or malt to add character.

12 oz clear twist-off bottle with no freshness date found.

A- Great head retention, I was quite surprised and impressed at the same time. Good clinging action and the pale yellow golden hue donned a perfect clarity.

S- Sharp cooked corn aroma, mild grain husk as well. Clean other than that.

T&M- Solid crispness in a light body. Grainy with a hay like character, mild hop bitterness and a faintness of corn in the back. Clean on the palate with a grand smoothness that make you want to take another sip.

D- Easy to drink with mild flavors and a good wash of crispness. A tasty American Lager. Went excellent with the lamb and steak tips I grilled.

12oz can that appeared in my cooler when visiting the in-laws. Red, white & blue 4th of July motif can.

Poured into a glass mug, formed a 1" bright white head over the clear light yellow brew. Airy head collapses slowly, with average lacing. Aroma is bready, slightly floral.

Taste starts lightly sweet, bitterness and some saccharin in the middle, clean finish. Mouthfeel is smooth yet thin, and drinkability is good if this is what you're looking for. Since you bought it, one would think you know what to expect.

Pours the standard clear yellow that we always see in American macros, it is darker than Budweiser.

Smell is mild grain and a bit of hops

Tastes are mildly sweet with crackers being the main taste. No off flavors present, tastes mostly of sweetness and grain.

Mouthfeel is actually present.

It is drinkable, but really this isn't a German Hefe-Weisse!

Truly lives up to Champagne of Beers!

Pours a clear straw yellow, thin white head forms, settles down quick to a thin ring around the glass, the disappears completely, no lacing. Smell is sweet and corny, honey, citrus, bit of floral, pretty average. Taste is similar, sweet corn, adjuncty, wheat like dry middle, floral and citrus sweet sugar finish. Mouthfeel is light bodied with high carbonation. Was holding on to this gem for my #900 review, but I forgot!

people tend to hate on all macrobrews no matter what but I enjoy this one evry once in a while. Softer and smoother tasting than many of it's counterparts. Nice to drink ice cold on a hot day.

Pours a clear golden yellow urine-like color with a very thn fizzy white head that quickly dissapears. Aroma is of corn and fraternity house hallways. Although it looks and smells awful it is actually very easy to drink and can be refreshing.

Hey what can I say, its the champagne of beers. A nice, you've been doing coke for awhile color of yellow.

Aroma is not too worthy. Adjunct city. More of that in the taste, mouthfeel, even worse aftertaste, don't really look for much tasting like any of the 4 ingredients of beer other than the water. Its got good carbonation! Drinkable, but getting the first one down if you haven't had one in awhile can be a bit of a chore.

Another Miller's product I had the misfortune to encounter while on holiday in Tobago.

'The Champagne of beers' my arse!

Clear 12oz bottle of almost clear looking watery liquid which when poured produced no head or aroma what-so-ever.

Why do people buy such tasteless fizzy rubbish? I did, not knowing 'high life' really means 'low life' in American brewing advertising. I won't be making that mistake again.

First had: bottle at ?

Pours a clear straw color with pleasant bubbles and a delicate, tiny white head. Nice, right? Weak aroma of grains and skunk. Thin tasting, with minerals and stale grains, metallic, and a skunky aftertaste. Light, fizzy, and a very weak drinkability. To be avoided.

It's not unsual to find a 32 ounce bottle of this cheaper than a liter of bottled soda pop. Comes with a soda-like twist on/off cap too. On to the beer:

The beer has good head retention, but its clear yellow body scares me a bit. A few whiffs in the nose took me down a few notches with it's rotten adjunct aroma, even when cold. The taste is either solid or awful, depending on how cold the beer is. I first tried it a little warmer than ice cold, and it didn't make my tongue happy. However, thanks to the soda-like bottle cap, I saved some for later in the fridge, and the taste was more appealing when served CUHH-OOLD. Fairly sweet taste, with a grainy finish instead of the odd-tasting stereotype we get from cheap beer when merely cool. To enjoy Miller High Life properly, follow these don'ts:

DON'T pour into a glass.
DON'T smell the beer.
DON'T serve warmer than ice cold.

The beer after is release from the 12-ounce clear bottle sets in the glass a transparent gold with a modest bright white heat that is creamy in texture and after its desiccation leaves a thin sheet of lace to conceal the glass. Nose is malt, sweet and clean with the start lightly malted and somewhat sweet, top cadaverous. Finish is mild in acidity, the hops meek and mild, dry aftertaste.

Poured a light straw hue with a one finger foamy white head. There was decent retention and lacing.

The smell featured a faint grain with a light sweetness.

The taste was likewise faintly grainy with some corn and a balancing hop flower

The mouthfeel was crisp and light on the palate.

Overall a nice macro treat on draft.

How long CAN it go on?

An aggro pour resulted in 1.5 finger's worth of rocky, bone-white head with low retention. Color was a pale yellow with a clarity that would be the standard-bearer for NE-quality. The nose was somewhat sweetish with an underlying graininess. Mouthfeel was thin to medium with a decent sweetness on the tongue. Finish was unobtrusive, at best. I remember as a young man, I really enjoyed this beer, but now, it was ho-hum at best. Too bad.

35.5cl clear glass bottle served into a generic hefeweissbier glass in low altitude Los Angeles, California. Reviewed live. Points off for the clear bottle.

A: Pours a two finger had of no cream at all, terrible thickness, and decent retention. Clear pale gold colour. Looks pretty generic.

Sm: Crystal hops, light subtle floral tones, and clean barley. More interesting than expected, but not amazing in its own right. Aroma is mild in strength.

T: Pleasant and crisp barley. Light floral notes. Built decently but a touch imbalanced. Clean and a bit refreshing.

Mf: Smooth and wet, but too thick. Overcarbonated - the biggest problem with this beer by far.

Dr: Very drinkable and quite cheap. You could do far worse at this price, but if you're doing budget beer for getting bollocksed I recommend High Gravity Steel Reserve.

Pours a light yellow color with some head that wears off. Aroma is very corny and sweet. Taste is somewhat bland though. Very light taste of corn adjunct. Really nothing like the label says (not really a surprise there). I'll even venture as far as to say that I prefer Miller Lite to this.

Tried some from a pitcher at the Pirate's Adventure in Orlando. Keeping my streak alive of not paying for a beer I am positive I won't like. Fizzy yellow crap, and I would rather eat belly button lint than pay for something like this. High life indeed.

16oz Camouflage Can that was left at my house at a party last Friday... I probably will never buy it.. sooo.. I figured WTF.

Poured into my shaped SA glass... aggressive pour.. 3/4" head... and actual lacing to my surprise.. brew is crystal clear straw.

Pale malts and corn. very clean.. no hops.

Flavor is "beer".. pale malts with a little bit of shucked corn.. a little bready.. not offensive... just everything is expected... I guess I should not be surprised.

Body and carbonation... yada yada yada.. you know it.

I would think that this is the first time I've had the Champagne of Beers in probably 10+ years.. all and all.. I am not unimpressed.. it is what it is... and it isn't bad. I have to say... I wouldn't turn one down if it was offered.

Appearance – Light yellow body with a smallish head that gave me the bob.

Smell – The typical grain aroma is complimented by a tinge of sweetness here, although I can’t make it out (essence of gummi bears, no doubt).

Taste – More on the sweet side then most macros. There also may be a hint of malt in there, but it’s hard to tell.

Mouthfeel – Decent mouthfeel and smooth on the cheeks. It’s actually kind of foamy in the mouth, which is strange because I didn’t get much head on the pour. User error maybe?

Drinkability – This is the High Life’s strong suit, IMHO. The sweetness helps this one go down well.

Comments – I was ruing the day when I had to face this beer again, because I sucked these down as a kid like they were the best things in the world. Now, after educating my pallet over the years, I have some perspective on it.

It really is the champagne of beers. The foamy mouthfeel is like a cheap bottle of Korbel stirred with a straw just before drinking. It’s also light and sweet, like many types of champagne.

It’s not so bad – and it brings back some great memories. Here’s to you!

Appearance - Pale straw with surprisingly good head retention and tons of sticky lace. Not bad.

Smell - Cooked corn and a bit of sulfur. That's honestly about it. Pretty foul.

Taste - Mild pale malts and a distinct creamed corn-like sweetness. No hops or bitterness to be found. Fairly clean; judging by the aroma, I was expecting worse. Very light-bodied and crisp, high carbonation. Not the worst macro lager out there, but certainly not good.

A. Can. Fizzy yellow liquid with a bit of head and no stick.

S. Very very light here, some grains and not much else.

T. Well there is very little taste here. One of the most flavorless beers I have ever experienced. Some gritty grains, faint sweetness, carbonation and water is all I could notice.

M. Light and watery. Carbonated water.

D. I was able to get this down by just focusing on the fact it was cold. Though not any where near an award winner, its far better than Miller Light.

Bottle at Holeman & Finch (served alongside a shot of Old Overholt Rye Whiskey, and together called "Buck the Recession", nice!).

The pour is yellow and bubbly with a surprisingly long-lasting white head that leaves a little bit of lacing.

The aroma is a little less impressive than the look, and is mostly corn and light sweet malts.

The taste follows the aroma and might have a little more flavor than I was expecting, with the sweetness of malts and grainy corn flavors.

The mouthfeel is medium bodied and certainly better than most BMC light beers out there. It's got a decent clean finish but leaves a bit of a sour taste in the mouth.

This is a middle of the road lager for the style, certainly not terrible but not one I'd want to drink very often. It definitely tasted better after I had the shot of Old Overholt though. Nice combo!

I tell you what..for a macro brewed lager this is a pretty tasty beer...it really is...in fact out of a can I like it better than MGD (which is another pretty good macro lager)..I've always favored malty sweet beers (I love Bocks, dopples, and Octoberfests)...and for a basic American lager this is pretty good..it's priced right too....if you put a gun to my head and said spend $12 on a case of beer this would be my call...(remember the price restrictions..I picked up a case of this...and a case of 4 different micro six packs...The Miller came to $11...the grand total to close to $50...you can do the math there..)
