On tap in a shaker pint.

Surprisingly nice looking beer. Impressive structure, retention and lacing from the bright white head. Pale yellow (some would say 'piss yellow') body has perfect clarity.

Smells like, well, not a lot, which I guess is the point. Some corn, some very light grain and nothing else.

Tastes very sweet, like creamed corn. Slight bit of lemon bitterness, no hops really. Best consumed quickly while it's still ice cold.

Creamy mouthfeel would be pleasant if there were some more carbonation. Instead, it's just too much corny sweetness.

Not the first beer I'd reach for in the macro section of the beer aisle.

Presentation: From a keg in my house, into large glass mug.

Appearance: Very pale looking, darker than something like Natural Light though. There is moderate head with a little staying power.

Smell: Smells a lot like corn to me. Especially when it is served at a warmer temperature.

Taste: Rather thin body, although more than cheaper beers. Taste a lot like it smells with a moderate corn/barley flavor.

Overall: Its certainly better than Nati Light. But certainly not something I would drink given a larger budget. Great for college, not for much else...

This stuff is bubbly, straw yellow, with a white head that doesn't last (Who'da thought for an american macro?). I guess the only reason why I decided to review this was because I had a couple because they were cheap tonight and I was grossed out by how metallic it tasted. Had it on tap for a dollar per 10 oz. Very metallic certainly more hops than your average american macro (noble hops I think)... but overly metallic. Not suggested, unless you're on a mission to not be sober and have few means to reach such a goal. On one good note however I did see this in my grandfather's fridge when I was a kid and I have a lot of respect for him so the lady on the moon is at least a reminder of him.

Can't believe we actually found High Life on tap. What's wrong with this city? Looks like piss with a nice head, although it dissolves down to nothing with the quickness. Nose is weak, but the flavor's an unobjectionable sweet malty grain and maybe corn. Feel isn't terrible, and I could drink about 50 of these (and do, every time). Really quite bad, but whatever, not as terrible as most of them, and kind of accepting of its terribleness.

The champagne of beers! Really!

A bright, translucent, yellow colored body with a nice white head. Fantastic head retention, this stuff sticks around in white clumps and mountains forever, and then leaves a ton of thick sticky lacing on the glass. Actually one of the better looking beers I've ever encountered. Certainly the best American Macro I've found.

Not sure if this has much of an aroma. Metallic and corn come to mind.

Taste is definitely corn(rice)-like. The metallic flavor hangs around in the background. Some actual malts come through. I can taste a little earthy hops in there too. Better than a bud light or coors I must say.

Very light mouthfeel, highly carbonated. Rather crisp.

High drinkability on this one because you can throw them back without being completely disgusted. Also cheap as hell. For the most part, it sucks less than other macros.

This beer was served on-tap on in a classic pint glass. Had a decent head and surprisingly maintained its head(at least to some extent) throughout the course of consumption. Lacing is evident. The beer is a bright yellow and completely clear.

S- Smells of corn and not much else

T- Some mild hop bitterness-corn adjunct as well

M- Light bodied and highly carbonated beer. Quite pleasing in the mouth however.

D- I have always enjoyed drinking this beer, and would consider it to be a good choice if looking for an economical beer.

Presentation: draft on tour on site at Miller in Milwaukee

A: straw gold, clear, watery, persistent head of tight white bubbles

S: husky, grainy, and a bit metallic. Little to no hop aroma.

T: grainy, husky, unpleasant astringency or tartness, light apple note, no hop.

M: watery, even for the style

D: builds to a harsh finish--don't even want to finish it. I have a hard time believing that this was marketed as a high end beer back in the 60s.

Best beer on-tap at the bowling alley.

I guess it's good for the style. The flavor is a crisp mix of pale malts and corn adjunct. No hops really, just a clean beer without any nasty off-flavors. One of the better macros, if that counts for anything. Just stick to PBR if you're going cheap.

Champagne of beers my spit...
Pored like you think, pale and lightly fizzy.
smelled like, well, it didnt smell like mush at all, actually. Like wet hops left over a real hopping.
Taste is limp, but slightly hoppy.
I will give it good mouthfeel and damn high drink ability.
It is the king of Miller, which doesnt say much.

This is what I drink most of the time at my local bar on the weeks that I don't get paid, or if they're out of Yuengling. Most recently two nights ago:

It's pale gold. Thin patchy head.

Everyone knows what it smells like. Kind of bland. There's a little bit of sweetness though. Probably from corn.

The taste is similar. It's not too carbonated, not bitter, not malty. Not offensive in any way. It's light enough without being a "Lite" beer.

I've lived the High Life many times. It's not terrible but it's not that great. It must be ice cold. It's a little more flavorful than Miller Lite, which is why I choose it often.

Fresh from the tap in Milwaukee. Quite a different experience than I am used to from the bottle at home. This beer was ordered by the pitcher and poured into cheap bar glasses -- accompanied with wings.

Clear, golden color. Slight head. Great mouth-feel. None of the metallic aftertaste that hinders the bottle experience.

Will order again, in quantity, when in Wisconsin.

Miller High Life. The Champagne of Beers. Sure, whatever you say. What MHL is, in my opinion, one of the best macrobrewed beers that you can get. Rocky Mountain Pizza has this stuff at $5 dollar pitchers.

Clear straw color with a persistant thin lacing, this beer doesn't have a strong odor or flavor, but it is incredibely refreshing. I've had this with burgers and watching basketball games and it goes great with both. You could eat this with spicy foods such as chips and salsa without a tremendous clash of flavors. High Life is also very drinkable with absolutly no aftertaste. A great beer to have when watching the game.

And did I mention that its cheap?

s-smells of corn, malt, and hops
t-weak hop and corn taste. tasted more watery than anything
m and d-mouthfeel felt very watered down but the drinkability was averege because of that

I'm not to impressed with it very little flavor at all. One i'd say avoid.

I don't know what it is about Virginia, but High Life is the unofficial brew of our titty bars. Unless you want to drop $3.50 for a longneck of Bud/Bud Light, it's pitchers of High Life for you and the guys. It tastes like a pretty standard Macro out of a tap, although it does have a little more personality than the Buds and Coors of the world. It's cheap and it gets the job done, no more no less. And when your shoving dollars down Bambi's g-string, I can't think of a beer I'de rather have by my side than the High Life.

High Life it pours a pale yellow, looks like straw with a tiny head and lots of carbonation. It looks kind of like sprite with yellow food coloring. The taste is very bland and carbonated, just not impressive at all. The champagne of beers as right as far as carbonation goes, but not as far as taste. A real dissapointment.

It's the kickoff of the Catholic festival season here in Cincinnati. Over the course of the summer there will be at least 30 churches having weekend-long festivals with rides, games of chance, food, conversation, and ice cold megabrew beer. You take whatever they supply and this past weekend the suppliers chose High Life on tap.

Pale yellow in color with a solid head, which easily lasted the duration. Smells a bit green, and on a warm evening tastes just fine. Just the slightest trace of malt, no more. Lots of bubbles, could create quite a headache in the morning if indulged in extensively. Very thirst quenching, or great with a Mett and french fries, or pizza, etc.

Not necessarily something I would purchase to store at the house, but if offered at a festival or similar outdoor event, it does the job adequately.

Tried some from a pitcher at the Pirate's Adventure in Orlando. Keeping my streak alive of not paying for a beer I am positive I won't like. Fizzy yellow crap, and I would rather eat belly button lint than pay for something like this. High life indeed.

Poured from a can into a pint glass. Purchased a 30 pack for $12.99 in the city, so that's about as cheap as it comes

It's always good to come back to the adjuncts every once in a while, between seeking out higher quality craft beers. I also enjoy a cold one on a hot day every now and then too. That being said, it is what it is...

A - Pours light golden brown with a generous amount of head and carbonation

S - Not much smell at all, maybe a little bit of a bready / biscuit smell.

T - Typical adjunct lager, with a little bit of a grainy / corn taste. Pretty smooth and drinkable. I think I can actually pick up some faint hops too. Most importantly, it doesn't taste "skunky" like adjuncts can from time to time.

M - Pretty thin and typical. Refreshing though

O - For the price point, this is my pick all the time

Well, it was a warm day finally, so it seemed like a good time to take a break from the heavier brews and quaff down some of my favorite Miller products. I started with a tall boy of Mickey's, and am finishing the evening with a 32 ounce can of High Life.

Poured into an 8 ounce sampler while the remainder of the can stays cool in the fridge. A steady pour produces 1/2 inch of froth which lines the glass and sticks around until you wash it away. I smell grain, corn mash, and a kiss of hops. The taste is very smooth and clean- almost too smooth, as there is little aftertaste to speak of. Nevertheless, I detect a gentle warming of alcohol (or is that the Mickey's?) and the burps, though few, bring about nice grain and hop aromas....As the beer warms, corn flavors become more noticeable, but that's not all bad, as I think the corn is pretty much essential for this style of brew. Corn is good. Corn makes good whiskey. Embrace the corn.

Miller High Life is one of my favorite AALs, and is a regular go-to when hot weather appears.

Me and my brother bought a 12 pack a couple months back, and I have got to say this is By far one of the worst beers I've come across, I typically like cheap beer too but this tasted like piss mixed with rat poison, It does have a good pilsner look, the smell is of sulfer (atleast it was when I bought it) its taste was terrible, far too much carbonation, mouthfeel, like I previously stated way to carbonated, overall I'd drink this beer if you bought me one, but thats the only time I would, never going to buy this sludge again.

THE best overall American Swill.
Semi-vigorous pour renders an enduring rocky head, provoking me to sip some before I can finish emptying the can. This is a fantastic head. It's the perfectly prepped hairstyle atop the beautiful body that is the beer, Miller High Life. Sweet corn and rice pudding aromas waft from it's surface, very warming, very pleasant. Sides down my throat with easy, chilling my tongue, leaving it's buttery flavor lingering. This beer is yearning to be drunk in big, slow swigs. Overall, it's the best macro lager from over the borderline. And c'mon.. ya gotta love the name.

Disclaimer: Written under the influence of a serious macro lager kick.

Miller High Life is a beer I used to drink often. like many folks, I switched to a Lite beer. After a few years of swilling various brands of light beer, I found myself at a place that sold out of Lite. So I ordered a High Life. Boy-oh-boy was it good. I had forgotten just how good a real beer tasted. Since I never drink more than two brews when I am driving, I always order Miller High Life now. "The Champagne of Bottled Beers", it is as true now as it ever was. it tastes like real beer.

Packaging: 16 oz. can
Glassware: Shaker pint
Purchased: 4-pack from Kroger

A: Light golden color, with lots of bubbles streaming from the bottom. Head is nicely sized at 3+ fingers and sticks around well; lacing is fair.

S: Lightly sweet malt and corn aromas, plus some faint noble hop smells.

T: Taste is of semi-sweet grains but is light on flavor. No real hop presence or bitterness.

M: Crisp feel and very highly carbonated with a light body. The finish is grainy sweet.

O: For a macro lager and lawnmower beer I guess it's OK, but the flavor and other characteristics make this lackluster.
