Excellent artwork, good bottle, nice crown, regular beer, to this commemorative beer, it needed a little flavor, because the flavor of hops does not have it, however his presence of corn and rice I am very strong, its total indicative color of lager, little defined and smooth body, liked single to collect it, recommendable 65%, I proved it in a pilsener glass , to observe its quality and oxidation, complemented with Mexican food.

During my years at U of A, my fraternity had a deal with a Miller distributor where we could buy 100 cases of Miller for $500. While it was far superior to Keystone and Natty Light, even we knew then that this beer was goat piss.

That being said, this beer is not horrible. Yellow, fizzy pour with a big bubbly white head. Corny aroma, but with floral hops and a pleasantly sweet waft. Same odd sweetness in the taste, almost like Frosted Flakes. Clean, light, with no metal or awful sweaty tang. I can honestly say that I do not hate this beer, but that does not mean I recommend it.

Thanks to Tim for 'donating' this beer to me. Poured from 12oz bottle into a curved pint glass.

Appearance- A golden clear with a 2 finger head of foam that quickly dissapates and leaves splotchy lacing on the glass.

While pouring I heard the comment, 'It's not really from 1855 is it?' My answer: 'no, then it would probably taste better.'

Smell- Slight fruitiness, corn, and a minimal amount of Saaz. As usual for Miller, that hint of green apple that I am oh, so familiar with, although I haven't drank an American Macro for at least a year.

Taste- Corn and malt with a hint of hop but then the corn comes back and its like eating off the cob. Not skunked from light or buttery with Dyacital. This is actually drinkable.

Mouthfeel- Light bodied, well carbonated and clean. Perfect for the swilling needs. A bit corny, but I would take this above the traditional Miller Lite any day.

Drinkability- High drinkability on this one. Not my favourite beer, but a high scorer due to the fact that it doesn't have a lot of flaws. I can only assume that this is what Miller was planning 150 years ago with an easy drinking lager. This doesn't have near the apple that a regular Miller Lite has, but much more corn. I would prefer this actually. But given the choice between this and a Dogfish, Stone, or Bell's, there is no question, I would take the latters.

A - Poured out a pale yellow color with a small, short-lived head. No lacing.

S - It smelled of corn, barley and a hint of grasses.

T - It was fairly bitter with a strong grain/barley/corn presence. Some hoppy flavors, too.

M - It was slightly on the thin side. A light to medium-bodied beer.

D - It reminds me of a hoppy version of MGD. Still an average beer.

Poured from a 12oz. bottle into a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a very pale yellow color with a thin white head that fades quickly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.

S: The aroma is of barley, grain, corn, malt and a very faint touch of hops.

T: This one has the typical Miller macro flavor of sweet malt, corn and barley that dominates. There’s a very minor hops flavor and this one seems to taste a bit breadier than most other Miller products.

M: Smooth with barley and crispness, light body, high carbonation, clean finish.

D: Considering the style it’s kind of tasty, goes down easily, not very filling, although it’s better than most other macros, it’s still a macro. Since this one isn’t available on-tap anywhere that I know of, any liquor store that would carry this beer would have several other beers that I would choose first. Even if I were to go with a macro, I would go with a cheaper one since the taste isn’t all that different.

Four bottles of this dubious-looking beer were left in my fridge after my 30th birthday party. I have to say, it is a very cool looking retro label they put on this bottle. I'm not really sure how old this bottle is, but it must be several months since it was bottled as the first review of this 150th Anniversary beer was logged last November (2005). Anyway, on to the beer itself... A vigorous pour yields a seriously pale straw gold brew with a modest dusty-white foam cap. Rapidly rising carbonation struggles to maintain this head to no avail really. Soured corn mash and yeasty bread dough aromas with some almost sickly sweet notes. A cleanish lager hop aroma is also detectable. It smells like the beer I remember my dad drinking at Omaha Royals baseball games when I was a kid. Bready malt flavor with a sweet corn character, punctuated with floral hops. A clean, slightly minerally finish. Actually, this is a very clean-flavored macro lager. Certainly better than many others in its stable. Medium-thin body and smooth, well-carbonated mouthfeel -- not too watery or thin, nor is there a cloying sweet-sour twinge to the mouthfeel. Slightly hoppy (and even nostril buzzing!) burps. Actually better than expected. Maybe I would have liked it even more if I'd tried a fresh bottle.

appearance: poured a sick yellow with minimal head. retained no head throughout the session.

smell: smells almost as bad as miller light, except it has a sweet quality. As it warms a little it gets better.

taste: For a macro lager this is amazing. Minimal grainy quality and a nice malty sweetness, almost like honey. I'm impressed.

Mouthfeel: nothing abnormal to speak of.

Drinkablity: As quaffable as any life lager, but better tasting

Pale golden color with a white lace for a head.

The aroma is clean with light hay like grains and minimal spicy hop.

the Taste has a touch of grains and hops with a semi dry but clean aftertaste.

Has light carbonated bady that is very crisp that makes the drinkability decent.

There is really nothing special about this limited edition beer. It just has a clean taste and nice drinkability like a mainsteam lager should.

Poured a nice straw colored hue with a thin foamy head. There was little retention and lacing.

The smell was non-descript, except for hints of grain and wood.

The taste was balanced. A nice malty sweetness and rather dry finish.

The mouthfeel was on the thin side, with a bitter tingling at the back of the throat.

An average, drinkable American premium lager. Not a bad experience. Certainly the best Miller product on the market.

Clear Amber color, minimal head. Looks like a Yuengling Lager.

Smells like Yuengling too. Malt and grain (rice or corn)

Not bad tasting. Yeast-y sweetness finishes a decent malt base. Not a big hop presence.

Refreshing.

Drinks well. Pleasant drinking experience. Nothing to write home about, but it's good, nonetheless.

Worth getting if you're getting it for cheap. :)

Although I enjoyed the 1855, I can't say it really excited me. Although maybe that's because I found the name to be slightly misleading, it's just not too much more than a slightly more malty version of Miller's other beers.

It looked good, smelled good, and had a much better maltiness to it than most American macro lagers. I like it better than Budweiser. It's more rounded. Overall, however, it's still lacking in character - particularly regarding hops. It is balanced though, and makes an interesting change.

Miller 1855 Celebration Lager is a brew brewed to celebrate 150 years of "good taste" from Miller. With the cool retro packaging and name, I thought that this would have been an interesting "pre-prohibition" style (possibly amber colored) lager that would divert from the usual macro fare. I should have known better, seeing as how this is just another fizzy yellow beer. It is dissapointing in that sense, and while this won't send shockwaves throughout the beer world it is drinkable.

The 1855 lager pours a light golden color that almost reminded me of a Münchner helles, but a touch lighter. Two fingers of sudsy foam form but thin out to near nothingness within a thirty second time frame. The aroma of the brew had some decent malts and fruitiness to it, but the typical Miller adjunct/DMS smell became detectable as well. This brew is moderately carbonated, but still felt watery on the palette. grainy malts were detectable with the first sip and I thought that this was going to be more than a decent brew. There was a fruitiness present as well. As I drank on, the adjuncty corn/DMS flavor became a bit more prominent. Light plastic flavor too. Decent amount of dryness in the finish, with a low hoppiness present. Aftertaste mostly consists of the cooked veggie/DMS and a lingering, somewhat plasticy dryness and light citric hoppiness finishing out the brew. The beer ultimately concludes with no alcoholic warmth.

Perhaps it is my taste buds and imagination playing tricks on me, but it seems like almost all Miller products share a similar adjunct profile, with the same corny/veggie adjunct flavor present in almost all of their brews. This beer is no exception. If you are a fan of MGD, High Life, or Lite this will most certainly be up your alley. For a beer that is supposed to mark an important anniversary, this falls waaayy short. I wouldn't be surprised if this was just Miller "Red Label" brought back to life or some resonable facsimile. As with most Miller products, it's drinkable but unremarkable.

First impression of this beer, right from the bottle, not bad but without any real tastes to make me say it good beer. Let's see how it goes under a pour.

A: Darker golden color, tons of carbonation, small head. Soda.

S: Just like every other golden "burp beer" but this adds a oatmeal scent in the end.

M: Average. Foaming, tiny bite from alchohol, average wash.

T: Drinking this directly from the bottle, this hit me as a tasteless beer. Yes, there was somthing, but it went by fast without making an impression, kind of like Coors. The pour impression? Thrashy grain flavor started but left with a buttery texture. It tasted like buttered corn with a slight hop bitterness. I struggled to find other flavors and describe them, but there was none. Alcohol at the end.

D: It's a "what am I drinking and why am I drinking this again" beer. I couldn't buy a single, so I got a six. I drank them because they were beer. Otherwise, "High Life" is still my preferred beer from Miller for what that is.

Pours a four-fingered white head that fades quickly to a thin layer leaving barely a trace of lace. Crystal clear light amber color. Light carbonation and light-medium bodied. Very faint hoppy nose. Starts sweet, finish is smooth and clean, not much flavor seems to have hops in the background, would make a great lawnmower beer. $1.50 for a 12 oz bottle from Capital Convenience Concord, NH.

Appearance - Very light gold. Crystal clear. Soapy white head that quickly fades. Leaves no lacing. Bubbly. Kinda cool faux -classic label on the beer. Even with the kinda cool label, worse than average for category.

Smell - Faint. Soapy more than anything else. Hard to find any beer scents.

Taste - Sharp corn grist or malt flavor. Little to no hops, unbalanced. Rather offensive tasting . Not only one of the worst flavored beers I've ever had, but doesn't meet category standards either.

Mouthfeel - Quite watery, almost flat. Not crisp.

Drinkability - With Michelob Ultra and Milwaukee's Beast on the list of extremely bad tasting macros. Avoid like the plague.

A local was trying to get rid of the stock for $1/bottle; I saved a quarter from the PBR I was drinking on tap. It was still in date and came from the refer so I poured it and let it warm a little. Looks a little darker than the PBR and smells about the same, clean and slight malt with a hint of DMS/corn. Taste like OE's cleaner brother with less of a corn taste. Some malt flavor but just too little to really make me take notice. Zero hops in the nose or taste really just some low grade back ground bitterness. Decent bar water mouthfeel and I guess you could drink a good bit of this but why. Overall not enough hype aka money thrown by Miller to make this one stick.

Pours a pale gold with a rapidly vanishing head. On the nose I get adjunct and not much else. Light malt and faint hops flit across the palate, finishing briefly bitter and bone dry. Not surprisingly, this beer is thin, watery, and spritzy. This is better than Miller Lite but that ain't saying much.

Celebration Lager is more marketing than anything else. See Anheuser World Lager and Budweiser Select for similarly bland beers that fall well short of their over-inflated self-promotion.

Pours a light golden color with a small head that dissappers rather quickly. mouth-feel is good and goes down smoothley. Tastes a lot like High-life but not as watered down ie more flavor. I found it goes great with BBQ and I like the alcohol content; nice buzz going after a couple. This is my 2nd six-pack and I'll probebly
buy it again although it is a little pricy.

Pours out a very average looking light golden macro lager. Decent white head that goes down quite quick, but there a lots of carbonation here.

Smells similar to it's counterparts. light, but does have a decent oaty malt to it. I can slightly smell a mild spiciness to it. A tad sweet as well.

Taste: It does have a lot more flavors that the others, but not all that great. It's like they made their high life or mgd with a little less water; same flavor just more potent. has a malty sweetness to it. It is more malty than the others, but not great.

Mouthfeel is ok. No hops tasted here but it isnt unbalanced. Good carbonation.

Overall i am always a sucker for trying new macro shit. Its ok, i'd prefer this over any other miller product, but I'd pass on ever buying a six pack again.

12 oz bottle that pours a clear straw golden with a decent fizzy white head that doesn't last very long, does leaves some lacing, light grainy and flowery aromas. Sweet bready, grassy and grainy flavors, light bodied with a thin and watery mouthfeel, finishes with some sweetness, alright for what it is.
