This beer is great for the beginner drinker. It is a very light and not too harsh of flavors for a beer. I recommend pouring this beer into a class to release some of the carbonation, it gives it better flavor and allows you to drink more. This beer has been around for a while, allowing it to be one of the classic beers, and a perfect transition to the new beer drinker.

The first time i saw this beer it was on tap at a bar and it was a light yellow/gold coloring to it. I was not a big fan of the smell because it smelled a little malty and almost like it had gone bad. The taste was decent though, but maybe a little watered down because it was light.

well welcome to another college beer with no taste, smell and overall flat mouthfeel. Great beer for college kids looking for $7 deal for a 12 pack. utterly disgusted to call this a beer. Being a DIPA lover, this is not my style. This beer is good for someone who needs a cheap beer...fast...and make sure to get tums for the morning. This guy does not sit well

Coming out of a 12oz bottle into a pilsner glass
A - Well, it's a typical adjunct, with that regular ol' straw color
S - Not much going on, a faint malty sweetness with a touch o' corn
T - Hell, for an American adjunct light, this aint too bad. Not much taste, again, a corny -malty sweetness is the overriding flavor. You cant expect a whole lot from any of these light beers.
M - Once again, pretty weak ( especially after sampling a Chimay White beforehand )
O - Is there REALLY any point in reviewing a beer like this ? Well, I guess there is. We all know just about what to expect with this beer. It really comes down to " How does it compare to other American adjunct lights ?."...Well, for me personally, I'd take it over Miller Lite, Bud Light, and certainly Coors Light...
Give it a shot...If you gotta' go light...

Poured from can into a pint glass
Appearance –Pours a straw color with a huge white head. The head is big and billowy, fading mover a moderate amount of time to leave a decent level of lacing on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The nose is heavy of a corn malt sweetness. Mixed with this aroma is a lighter aroma of light citrus.
Taste – The taste begins with a bready and corn sweet flavor. This flavor is the base of the brew and remains relatively constant throughout the taste. More toward the end a light citrus hop flavor comes to the tongue. Mixed with the corn, bready and light hop comes a somewhat metallic taste as well, tarnishing the smoother flavor more toward the end.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is rather light in its thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is rather average. A little higher carbonation may have been slightly better, but overall the mouthfeel was rather appropriate for a American light adjunct brew.
Overall – Well what can you say. Nothing special or all that flavorful, if it wasn’t for the off flavors at the end of the taste it would have been much easier drinking and sessionable.

A - Drank from the bottle. Clear gold with slight froth.
S - Creamed corn, corn flakes.
T - Corn flakes, creamed corn, small amounts of rice and unmalted barley.
M - Medium bodied with medium carbonation. At least it isn't stinging so that's a plus for the category.
O - Overall, it's a light beer that actually has some flavor. Better than any light beer I've ever had.

From the 32 oz. can. Into a tulip glass. Three fingers of head, low retention rate. Almost clear (lightest straw color) body.
Smells like my breath after a night of drinking light beers. Kinda grainy but in the worst way.
Taste sickly sweet with a mild grain. Watery and lacking flavor.
Light body with moderate carbonation.
The Champagne of Beers should not be done in a "Light" version.

12 ounce bottles poured into a pilsener. "Best by" date of 01/14/2013.
Appearance: Clear pale yellow with a white, fizzy head that quickly diminished to a thin film. Tiny suspended particles. Nice carbonation bubbles, Thin lacing left behind.
Smell: Wet cereal. No hop or malt aroma to speak of. Slightly pungent.
Taste: Crisp and dry. Finish lingered a little bit. However, like the smell there was not much to taste as far as malt or hops.
Mouth Feel: Thin but a nice sting on the tongue and inside of the mouth.
Over all: Not terrible for a light beer. I think it fits the style but it could have a little more flavor. I would drink this again.

Pint at Tully's NY for 2.50$
Appearance - Clear light yellow colour with an average size fizzy white coloured head. There is an above average amount of carbonation showing and there is actually a bit of lacing. The head lasted for 2-3 minutes.
Smell - Breads/grains, fruity notes, corn
Taste & Mouth - There is an above average amount of carbonation and I can taste corn mixed with some grains/breads. There is also a bit of a fruity/corn syrup sweetness. It ends with a lightly sweet crisp aftertaste.
Overall - Not too bad at all.. reminded me a bit of a better bud light taste wise. Light beers with a decent flavour have their time and place. This beer would work well for camping trips etc.

A - poured out a can into a plastic cup. Nice carbonation on pouring. A pale yellow appearance.
S - nothing noteworthy.
T - ok for a light beer. Not a fan of light beers. The big brewers excel act eradicating the malt and hops to make beer almost like water. Probably substantial rice use.
O - ok for quaffing. Just a super plain lager with no standout flavors.

Look, it's a cheap beer and nothing is going to change that. As cheap beers go, though, it's one of my favorites. I have two types of beer that I keep in stock: Everyday beer and weekend beer. The everyday beer is one that I drink Monday through Thursday nights when doing work in the evening, yard work, or simply relaxing, and Miller High Life Light is that beer. (Miller Light - ugh. I call it Vanilla Miller - no taste at all.)
I've tried so many varieties of cheap beer, from Steel Reserve (which I think should be banned if only because it's the worst beer I've ever tasted) to PBR to Bud Light to Rolling Rock to Natty Light and so on. I'd prefer "whole" beer (vs. light), but when beer is one of your favorite things in the world, and you don't always exercise or eat like you should, you have to make a few compromises to keep things in check ... like your weight. When it comes down to cheap beer, though, what it really comes down to is drinking what agrees with your taste buds. It doesn't have to be the best, simply pleasing.
This is not a review to defend it or say it's one everyone should try, only to say it suits me. Sure, there are at least three dozen beers I like much, much better, but my budget and my waistline tell me, "Oh, hell no." So, is it a great beer? Not to me. Is it a good beer? I say yes, it is, and it's fine for everyday consumption. Am I going to examine its color, head, nose, etc.? No and, besides, you already have an opinion.
If you haven't tried it and are looking for an everyday beer, pick up a six and try it. Having a good-sized party? It and Miller High Life (for your light-beer-adverse guests) are great choices and few people - if any - are going to turn them down.

As my friend remarked, "how can it be any lighter?"....
Very pale clear yellow with small sticky head. Smell is what you'd expect, light corn and grain. Taste is very inoffensive, light corn and hay. Sweet pils very much in the background. Feel is.... well carbonated? It's very easy to drink, I guess.
I can't sum this up better than my friend did. They took a light, inoffensive beer and somehow made it even lighter. At the same price as regular, there's no reason to buy this.

A = 1 finger head. Nice pale yellow and clear with moderate carbonation.
S - some malt and crisp noble hops perhaps?
T = Very light in flavor but refreshing with a crisp finish.
Mouthfeel - cold and watery with some carbonation on the toungue
Overall - A nice light and refreshing beer to go with anything. Not what you want to warm up to on a cold winter night but good with picnic food and crabs.

This is what my sister brought for Christmas Eve. I drank it out of the bottle because with that much family in the house a glass is hard to come by.
Through the clear glass of the bottle this looked like your typical light lager; gold with a lot of carbonation bubbles. The smell was sweet and grainy. The taste was really very faint, but it was also sweet, grainy, and had just a hint of grassy hops. This is pretty heavily carbonated and ultra-light.
The carbonation takes away from the overall drinkability. Honestly, this wasn't offensive in any way, but it lacked substance in every way.

Bought an 18 pack for 8.99...yes, an 18 pack for 8.99 at Specs in Round Rock...had to restash my cheep beer.
Surprised by the look...poured into a pint glass...a very pale yellow, but a pretty decent head, actually left behind a bit of lace.
Not much to write home about with the scent...i swear i'm getting more can smell than beer smell...maybe a trace of malt.
Bland, very bland...but not horrible...which is a good thing. Regular Miller High life has a bit more body...this stuff is basically carbonated water, but, again, no foul aftertaste, which makes it drinkable.
18 beers for under 9 bucks...it's hard to pass up. I'll hand these out to visitors who may not appreciate craft beer...i'll even have a few myself to curb my spending on better beer.

High life light is not as good as straight high life. It is a typical light lager american style beer. The color is yellow/gold clear with big carbonation and head to start and then fades to nothing. The smell and taste are common to theis style....grain/barley/wheat and some hops. The mouthfeel is what it is....beer that has a lighter abv and taste. Overall its great for hot days.

Appearance- Extremely fizzy with loads of carbonation to spare. The white head builds quickly to two fingers and actually has great retention. I was surprised. Not even that, there is a lot of puffy lace as it does die down. That is the only surprise sitting on top of the adjunct straw body.
Smell- There is some sweet malt in here to go along with the hops. Also that wonderful adjunct flavor. It makes it a little off putting but not overwhelmingly bad.
Taste- There is just a little bit bread malt, maybe just the brewing yeast though. Slightly bitter adjunct hops, and brewing water. That is it, really thankful the adjunct flavor was not noticeable.
Mouth feel- For being so light and watery, the bubbles almost make it too much. Not smooth or creamy at all.
Overall- For an adjunct, it really was not that terrible, but who are we kidding, it is still an adjunct. I would never have it again.

What can I say. This is a twist on an old school beer and it tastes...well...old school. I often drink lite beers when not enjoying craft brews but I would certinaly choose plain-old miller lite above this blend. A Little too much skunky taste to be the champagne of beers for me. Perhaps I got a bad six-pack.

12 oz silver can poured into an pilsner glass.
Jan3111 on the bottom.
A - Water thinks they beer is pale. Clear straw yellow with an effervescent white head. Lower retention but there sure is a lot of lace!
S - Adjunct-filled aroma consisting of corn and straw notes with a faintly tinny finish. Bland and uninviting aroma.
T - Faint pale malt hides behind dry straw and husky corn. An adjunct to the max, this one is very light in flavor.
M - Crisp and clean with a biting carbonation finish and slightly refreshing quality, like that of water.
O - I can personally attest to the drinkability of this one. Friends and I used to put it down by the case for $1 while playing darts downtown a few years back. Shameful, but it's got it's place I suppose. The question is though, with 110 calories in this light beer, why even drink it?

Poured a nice golden color with thick head that thins to a lace. Can't see much carbonation here. Standard adjunct corn aromas.
As I was expecting lots of adjunct flavor and there was very little of lit, I'm kinda impressed by the taste. Goes down pretty smooth, probably because of the lack of carbonation and it's a light beer, although there is a little dryness to it.
Overall I'm pretty impressed. Taste is better than expected (for a light adjunct beer). This might be the best light beer I've had.

High Life Original is my go to macro beer...why this travesty exists is beyond me. Pours a watery yellow with minimal head and not much character. Smells of pure grain and astringency. Flavor is really non existent with an off putting malt flavor and skunkiness making up the majority of the profile. Mouthfeel is very thin and the carbonation makes it seem even thinner. My least favorite of all light beers.

Miller High Life Light has an incredibly thick, white head and a clear, straw color, with lots of carbonation and a surprisingly high amount of lacing. The aroma is breadier than other light beers, but the taste is as dull and watery as the rest, yet without that unpleasant mineral water aspect. A decent hop bitterness shows up, mainly in the aftertaste. The mouthfeel is light and watery, and Miller High Life Light finishes crisp, refreshing, and dry. Overall, this is a little better than the average light beer. RJT

32 oz can poured into a pint glass.
Appearance - Fluffy white head with medium-low retention and seafoam lacing. Clear pale straw body with light carbonation.
Smell - Light, crisp corn. Very subdued.
Taste - Dry wood and corn. Very very slight astringency.
Mouthfeel - Light and almost refreshing. Crisp body. Slight metallic finish.
Overall - For the price, you can't beat it. As a beer, it's horrible. As a light lager, it's about average -- which isn't really a good thing.
