Pours a golden color body with a two finger fluffy, bubbly white head.

Some sort of adjunct like smell to it, no hop presence, and pretty grainy. No skunk fortunately.

Metallic-like rice flavor, some grain, and typical adjunct flavor. No hop bitterness. Rather crystal clear taste.

Pretty watery, and a decent amount of carbonation.

A typical adjunct, but I think I prefer this one over other similar offerings such as Molson. Well, it's probably decent to drink a few of these on a hot summer night, but otherwise I'd spend my money on something else.

I have been drank this beer since 1986. I tried all types of beer. I always go back to this beer,,

Appearance : Looks like a lager beer in a glass.

Smells : It smells like corn grain

Taste: The smoothness of this beer is so great! I would not tried this beer for anything in wolrd. It's my most drinkable beer for me . It is smooth aand crisp. This is my beer taste!

Overall: I would not trade this beer for any samuel adams or mirco brew beer in the world. You can have all of them ! There is nothing be learned about this beer. but hey, isn't that kind of the point of dranking some beer.

24 oz. can into a mason jar. Pours clear, muted urine-sample yellow with the metallic, slightly malty fragrance common to American macro lagers. Watery and bubbly in the mouth. Little taste to speak of, but lightly sweet, lightly bitter and very easy to drink. An inoffensive, crisp, cheap beer that is better than other beers at its price point.

12oz can
Served in a conical pint glass

A - It is yellow. It almost passes for golden, but I won't go that far. I got an inch of white head that settled to a thin film on top.

S - I smell sweet malt, grain, and a little grass.

T - I get some light grain and some sour grass.

M - Thin with lots of carbonation.

O - It has a little more flavor than other BMC. Mediocre.

Poured from a 12 oz can into a 14 oz "pint" glass. Pours a transparent straw color with a large white head that dissipates quickly and disappears. Smells of cereal grain and corn, no hops at all. Tastes of corn and grain, not much in the ways of hops, and very bland but not watered down. Carbonation is heavy like most macros but it is very smooth for its light body. Overall, slightly below average beer.

look is a clear golden color. smell is sickly sweet cereal, malts, and a serious amount of corn. taste is crisp and clean cereal grain, corn, with a touch of barley and a hint of hops. feel is crisp and clean with a slight astringency.

Good for the style.

Pours a transparent dull yellow with a little white head which disapeared un seconds.

The smell is sweet and corny. Its pretty bad but at least it's pretty subdued.

The taste is sweet and also corn like. To be fair I can taste some malts in there as well. The taste isn't great but better than the smell.

The mouth feel is light and medium carbonated.

Overall smells terrible but tastes a little better, not that bad if you're looking for a cheap party beer othetwise I'd skip this.

Offered a can of this and considered it worth the tick.

A - Well it's darker than I expected but still very "piss" like in color. Head surprised me a bit sticking around for a few minutes before reducing to nothing. Bubbly carbonation.

S - Smell is as expected for an adjunct lager. Corn being the only notable smell next to some sweet malts. As expected no hops in the smell, just corn...

T - Well it wasn't as bad as I thought (how many people have posted that?) Amway you do get acres of corn, lager yeasts and well... water. I swear halfway through the beer just tasted like water which I am sure if you slam them like water it's good for you but it didn't impress me a whole lot. This beer needs triple hopped :P

M - Well I don't post this much but this beer is thin and watery, so not that great.

Overall I guess I have found a very lackluster beer even for an adjunct lager. Giving this more than an average score is like calling yourself an alcoholic.

Pours just about clear, smell has alot of grain and hop, very plain. Good balance in the taste, definitely some hops in there. Acidic character, alcohol, a bit of metallic taste. Crispy feel but burns a bit, and a little sharp, and watery at the same time, still pretty drinkable, leaves a dry feeling

A can poured into a pint glass.

A: The beer has the typical adjunct lager color: pale, fizzy (extremely fizzy, actually) stale straw/semi dehydrated urine color. The amazing part about this beer is that the head actually lingers for a while and, dare I say, do I actually see some lacing from the head sticking to the side of the glass? That is amazing.

S: Sweet, husky, blah, blah, blah.

T: This beer tastes...sweet. That is about the only flavor I am picking up from this-a grainy sweetness.

MF: Too much carbonation. However, the beer does feel smooth and creamy in my mouth.

O: Mainstream adjunct lager. They are all about the same, but all a tad different, too. It is what it is.

Miller Genuine Draft -- MGD.

Looks OK, like most beer.

It has Miller High Life's unique "cooked vegetable smell" (for want of a better phrase) without the sweet corn-like aroma.

Taste seems much more bitter and sour than High Life.

Mouthfeel is fizzy, but without High Life's tingly bubbles.

Overall, I don't like this beer very much, and I can't understand why the Miller company once tried to make this their flagship beer.

My guess is, the good people at Miller will eventually phase out MGD and focus on High Life (a far superior product, in my opinion) and Milwaukee's Best (which tastes exactly like MGD, for a fraction of the price).

Pours a pure golden color with heavy carbonation rising to the top. There is some loose, foamy white head sitting on top that fades quickly. The nose is grainy with a very faint grassy hop aroma. The taste is bitter up front with a smooth, grainy finish. The flavor is actually decent. The mouthfeel is light bodied and heavily carbonated; very crisp and easily drinkable.

This beer is better than most in the style category, but it'll leave most beer drinkers seeking more flavor.

Poured from a tall boy can into a pilsner glass. Color was pale golden and clear. Lots of frothy head, maybe 1 ¼ inches. Lots of bubbles coming up from the bottom. Healthy amount of lacing on the top. Surprisingly a lot of film on the sides.

Smelled of corn malts, somewhat skunky. Seemed to be a grainy grassy smell, too.

I would say corn malts led the way, but there was no aftertaste.

Light body. Think texture. Fizzy carbonation (lots). Abrupt finish. Clean, crisp and refreshing.

I’ve had this many times, but after starting to rate beers over the past four months, I thought this would be lower. Not too bad when compared other similar types (cheap beer).

473ml Can

Appearance – Clear yellow colour with an average size fizzy white coloured head. There is a lot of carbonation and there is some fair lacing. The head lasted for around 3 minutes before it was gone.

Smell - Grains, bread, malts, corn syrup

Taste & Mouth - The beer has an above average amount of carbonation and it it feels slightly like club soda on the tongue. It's got a very very light taste, almost like a light beer. I can pick up on grains, corn and an apple or pear juice sweetness. It ends with a watery grainy aftertaste.

Overall – Another beer that would work well for camping/cutting the grass etc. Not something I'd buy again however.

500ml can served into a generic hefeweissbier glass in low altitude LA, California. Reviewed live, with low expectations.

A: Pours a three finger head of slight cream, decent thickness, and okay retention. Clear light yellow colour. Generally unappealing.

Sm: Light shite barley and water. Very bland and boring.

T: Light barley water. That's this beer in a nutshell. Even the malt climax of miller lite is missing. No alcohol, as expected. Shite build and poor balance.

Mf: Smooth, wet, and watery, but not necessarily too thick. Doesn't suit the flavour, except to make it last very little time.

Dr: Easily poundable, as evidenced by frat boys. Decent price, but low quality. A true student beer, though budget wise High Gravity Steel Reserve is better.

Blah, definately better out of a bottle by the thinnest of margins.

A: light yellow, quickly disapating head. not really anything special, but it looks like a beer.

S: metal and wet grain. put my nose right in it to get something, not very strong at all and that's likely a very good thing.

T: bland, thin, very little flavor at all. what's there is sweet corn and grains with a metallic aftertaste.

M: like the taste, very thin and watery. combine the two and you get a watery feel with a faint hint of beer taste. perhaps it was the mix with my saliva, but this really froths up in the mouth.

O: it was 32*C (89.6*F) outside at a gathering and these started going down after i ran out of my stock.

Bottom Line: Desperation beer.

Crystal clear, straw yellow with a finger of bright white foam on top. Clumpy lacing stuck to the top of the glass, decent head retention. The aroma was quite sweet, cereal grains and slight corn. Low bitterness with lingering sweetness, perhaps a hint of grassiness. More cereal and cooked corn. Light bodied, thin and very dry, fizzy carbonation.

Appearance: A crystal-clear straw-colored body capped by two fingers of bubbly, white head that feature decent retention and lacing.

Aroma: Sweet and grainy pale malt with mild, lemony hops for balance.

Flavor: Surprisingly, there is a relatively substantial malt backbone here. While it’s hardly a lush base of caramel malt, it does feature some biscuity notes along with the usual grainy and husky character. That said, there’s little hop character here, just a splash of lemon. The finish is clean, with just a suggestion of slightly biscuity grain in the finish.

Mouthfeel: A somewhat watery body with sharp carbonation and crisp finish.

Drinkability: As usual with these beers, if you’re into the flavor profile there’s nothing holding you back.

Verdict: While it’s still bland and thin compared to the rest of the beer world, MGD actually has a decent wedge of malty character for this style. Still, given a choice between this and its cousin High Life, I’d choose the latter every time.

Pours a familiar pale golden colour with a moderate head that burns off quickly, leaving a thin film and surprisingly thick lace.

Smells pretty bad. It's like an apple juice juice box and bad white wine. Sweet and pungent like almost rotten fruit.

Unsurprisingly kind of tastes like bad white wine with apple or grape juice in it. Goes sour on the finish rather than dry or bitter.

Mouthfeel is crisp, maintains carbonation throughout, but is very light-bodied to the point of being watery.

This isn't as good as most macros and given the price (12.75/6 in Canada), is likely best left ignored. (Labatt ver.)

[Updated Jan 25 2013]

473 mL can from TBS, served ice cold. Been a few years since I've cracked open one of these.

Pours a familiar pale golden colour, highly effervescent, topped with two fingers of soapy, frothy white head that seeps away over the next few minutes. It leaves behind an impressive amount of lacing for the style, as well as a thin, foamy film at the surface. A fine-looking lager - unfortunately, it's not very fine-smelling. The aroma is comprised of pale malts, adjunct sweetness, and not much else. So very bland - at least it can't really be construed as offensive.

I haven't had this stuff in a while, but my first sip left me pleasantly surprised - I don't remember it tasting this good. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing interesting or creative here, with the pale malt sweetness, rice adjunct and weak grassiness unlikely to impress any seasoned craft beer drinkers. But the decent flavours, clean finish, smoothness and very high drinkability still combine to make this one of the better AALs available in these parts, at least in my opinion. Thin-bodied and watery, with stereotypically high carbonation levels.

Final Grade: 3.13, a passable C+. MGD is nothing special, but it's still a serviceable macro lager. Here in Canada, Miller brands seriously lack the market penetration they presumably enjoy in the States - I literally cannot remember the last time I saw someone buying this stuff. That being said, this is the sort of pale lager I could drink all night and not get sick of - light and refreshing, and without the obnoxious corn and cardboard flavours I often find in cheaper offerings of this stripe. It's not the sort of thing I'd ever buy regularly, but if someone handed me one of these at a party or campfire, I'd just be thankful it wasn't Budweiser (or even worse: a light beer).

I'm low on money this evening so I might as well take some time to review one of the big 3's hallmark beers.

Poured from a 24 oz. can into a 16 oz. pint glass.

The appearance is a weak grainy yellow. A really light foamy head forms. It has some significant bubbles but it is dissipating rapidly. It's not super highly carbonated. There is some light foam sticking to the side of the glass. This really epitomizes the cheap fizzy lager most Americans were used to drinking until the craft beer movement emerged in the 80's. '

A light corn smell which hardly masks the alcohol. There is a smell of lemon pine-sol or cheap air freshener. A light spicy quality which I find pleasing. Slightly balmy. More pilsner than lager.

The taste is less offensive than the poorly balanced smell. I don't taste much alcohol. What I taste is a mild fizzy concoction of cheap malts (corn) with a somewhat sweet artificial lemon finish. I also get hints of sour candy.

The balance is okay. It is slightly fizzy. The beer isn't as offensive as I thought it would be. A somewhat metallic tinge on the tongue doesn't develop a lot of body.

I would prefer not to drink this often but I don't think I'd turn one down if I was in want of a beer and low on cash. It isn't the worst thing I've ever had. I'd rather get a light buzz from this than resort to drinking certain wretched malt liquors just because of the higher ABV.

Clear golden yellow.

Grainy, corn, and an earthy kind of skunky note in the smell.

Lots of grain and corn in the flavor, punctuated by a skunky and metallic aftertaste. Not really appealing.

Mouthfeel light to average.

Miller High Life has this one beat, as do thousands of other beers. Not my favorite macro lager.

How much back story does one really need. My friend brought this one to our beer tasting Christmas party, and we cracked it open just to give more perspective.

A - Clear with a tiny bit of yellow like the sweat from a sick camel. Fizy for a few moments then quickly dies down not unlike a urinal related experience.

S - Thank the maker there aren't many smells. Corn and aluminum plus something sour.

T - Watery. Vinegar...(like the kitchen cleaner not like the kind you put on fish'n'chips)

M - So flat so watery. Sad. I can feel this beer weeping at it's fate. "Why beer gods? why was i made so weak and thin?", it's saying.

D - this is a sad beer there is nothing draft about this. It's genuinely bad but that's all.
This beer served it's purpose today well. It reminded us just how great a great beer can be and just how bad a bad beer can be. Compared to a fine Belgian ale this is a stark contrast. Now lets dump the rest of this beer into the soup and bring out an ale please.

MGD reminds me of High Life in so many ways, except for the taste. MGD has a funky kind of off-taste to it I never get with High Life. Being the same beer, you'd think they taste the same, but they dont.

Its also my understanding that MGD is the same as High Life, with the exception of the fact that High Life is pasteurized and MGD is not.

Either way, very easy to drink, inoffensive but very thin. Not bad for a summer time refreshment.
