Went he on a recent trip to Philly. Had gone to Monk's to find it closed because of a beer tasting and dinner with Michael Jackson! Needless to say I was at first bummed out, but a server at Monk's told me they were offering free limo rides down to Nodding Head (turns out to be a four block drive). I eventually accepted against my will :)
Got here walked up the stairs and fine myself in a nice, atmospheric brew pub, wort tanks showing and all. I also liked the art work that was here, kind of modern, and was also for sale.
Beer: I had the Grog and really liked it. It has won a number of awards the blackboard boasted, but the other beers I tried were rather bland and boring. I did see some food go by which looked very good, but didn't have time to order any. I would sugest this place if you want a beer and a meal, but the beer, for 4$ a pop, really wasn't worth it to me just on its own.

I'll give this one a 'just okay'. I liked the atmosphere because it's dark, has a good jukebox and a few dartboards to pass the time. The night I was there, they only had 4 drafts going and a list of maybe 20 or so guest bottles. Had a porter and an IPA which were both nice, but I think they were like $4.25 a piece. I can go around the block to Monk's and get plenty of better beers for those prices. Still, if you're in the area you should check it out at least once and judge for yourself.

They only have 3 taps, and and the waiter didn't even know what they were. They have a decent bottle selection... so I ordered that with a blackened chicken sandwich. Both were good. I only seen the one tap the Monkey Sword Fight brew, I elected not to get it after reading frank4sail's review on it, after reading the web site, it appear's they have 3 taps or so with different brews...so I'll have to re-review it again sometime...still a decent stop along Sansom St. The Oyster House right below actually has more taps then they do...
