First had: bottle from Pinocchio's Beer Garden, Media, PA
Found this sitting in my fridge, so it's been in there for about a year or more. Quite dark in color compared to other years' versions. Dark brown, but not nearly black, with a half inch or so of beige head that retained well and left a bit of lacing. Aroma is expectedly spicy, mostly cinnamon and ginger, caramel malts. More of the same in the taste, caramel malts, slightly burny, slightly bready, slightly nutty, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, licorice, hints of herbal hops, no fruitiness detected, at least not significant enough to mention. Medium body, pretty easily drinkable, and held up pretty well after sitting for a year plus.

750ml bottle. Split between two people. Shared back in Dec. 2011. Reviewed from video notes. DFH Signature glasses.
A: Pours out a reddish, chestnut color. Tons of big frothy off white head on this one. It actually almost jumped out of the glass. Bottle conditioned much? The head left some sticky lacing bits.
S: Get all the spices: cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, etc. The cookie spices. It smells sweet. I don't get any hops or bitterness from the nose. Maybe some yeasty notes.
T: Taste follows the nose. It tastes like Xmas. Lots of those spices, cookie notes. Cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, and I guess the all spice is there. Clove sticks with you for a while.
M: Probably light to medium bodied. More medium. Lots of carbonation from the bottle carbo.

Pours a rich chestnut body with amber hues beneath the rocky and frothy tan head, which eventually leaves a scattered lacing behind.
Generous aromas of nutmeg, ginger, and pepper float from the glass as well as touches of cinnamon that are more apparent as it warms with a generous bready malt as well.
The flavor is similar with more focus on the cinnamon and bread-like malts which are complimented by the nutmeg and ginger.
Mouthfeel is medium in body that is a touch thicker mid-palate with a pleasant coating of Christmas spice flavors left lingering on the palate and perhaps just a touch over carbonated.
A very nice winter warmer overall with a great balance of traditional flavors and aromas, but nothing that overwhelms the senses.

Dark brown with big retained head, Stephen's bottle. Above average carbonation. Good for the style, good malting in the secondary. Ginger, licorice, herbal. the spices show themselves in the smell as well. Medium mouthfeel. Nice drinkability. By jove they got it.

Bottle shared by Steve, 750ml into a tulip. Best before date of November 11, 2013.
Poured a dark reddish brown, with big bubbles forming a tan head. Nose is malty and spicy, lots of clove and allspice prominent (so they should be, they're on the label!). A bit of brown sugar too. Taste is lightly nutty and malty, caramel and toasty grains/biscuit. Spices are about the same as the nose, a bit of cinnamon there too. Medium light body but a bit too watery for my full liking. Pleasant and simple, I could certainly revisit this - I found this somewhat akin to GI's Christmas Ale which was nice.

A - Holy Head!!! Pours a clear dark ruby color with a big ol' head.
Poured slowly and produces at least a four finger head that is very frothy and lingers for awhile. Descent lacing on the glass.
A - Big on the holiday spices. Clove is the most dominant in my opinion. No hop profile whatsoever. Sweet caramel and toffee malt backbone.
T - Sweet to start than the spices immediately take over. Spices are upfront but not overpowering. Flavors blend nicely. No bitterness.
M- Medium in body. Nicely carbonated. Flavor duration is medium/long.
O - Nice beer for those of who seek out Christmas ales but not one that I will go after again.
