Appearance: slightly orangish amber in color
Smell: slightly sweet with a citrus hint
Taste: big hop bite up front with citrus undertones blending away to smooth flavor
Mouthfeel: a bit tinny but light and decent
Overall: Been drinking a lot of pale ale's and this is a bit more hoppy than I like in a pale ale but wasn't bad.

Draught in Phoenixville: This one pours a fairly clear, orangish amber color. There was a small off-white head that leaves a bit of lace. The aroma is mainly citrus and grassy hops. The beer was medium bodied with just a touch of bitterness. Citrus and earthy notes. Very easy drinking. Nice!

2009 Hop Project Brew
A: Crystal clear amber body. A steady trickle of small carbonation bubbles. Tight off-white cap. Quickly receded to a slight skim. Spotty Lacing.
S: Soft, bright citus. Lemon and orange mostly. Very faint malt base.
T: Light orange and citrus notes dominate. Slightly bitter with hints of floral hops on the edges. Faint, soft toasted caramel malt backbone.
M: Good carbonation levels leave a slight tingle on the tongue. Crisp, light bitter finish.
D: Quite enjoyable. My #2 out of the 11 single-hop hop project beers.

The beer pours a nice gold color with a thick frothy white head that slowly fades to lacing. The aroma is good. It has your standard pale malt scent with a nice citrusy Amarillo hop nose. I didn't get a ton of hop aroma here, but it was pretty standard for an APA. The taste was excellent. Again, it's a pretty standard malt bill with the single hop character. The hop taste really shines through. It's moderately bitter with a fresh hop flavor and excellent malt balance. The mouthfeel is fine. It is medium bodied beer with adequate carbonation. This is a good APA. I like Amarillo hops in general so this beer was a no-brainer for me.

A-Bright copper body with a medium off-white head that reduced to a thin cap and left nice lace.
S-Lemon zing and an orange rind shot of hop with nice mellowing floral notes in the background. Light malt sweetness bringing up the rear.
T-Orange rind bitterness and lemon zest with a hint of floralness in the finish. Light sweet caramel malt supporting.
M-Medium-light bodied VERY sharp bite and a lovely crispness. Long lingering hop bitterness.
D-Once again my favorite hop does not let me down! Amarillo is THE BOMB baby! I could pound this one all day long.

On tap at Sly Fox for the 2009 Hop Project on 12/11/09.
A - Crystal clear amber/orange body with tiny, slow-rising carbonation bubbles and a thin off-white head that reduced to a patchy film, leaving behind a thin coat of lace down the sides of the glass.
S - Very versatile hop aroma and quite pungent for a pale ale. Aromatic blend of citrus, pine and spicy notes balanced with sweet caramel and grainy malts.
T - Opens with spicy notes that eventually give way to hint of citrus fruit and pine. Hops are balanced with a sweet caramel and grainy malt character. Finishes with a pleasant toasted grain aspect. This is a really well-balanced pale ale that drinks almost like an IPA.
M - Medium bodied with a slightly oily texture and moderate carbonation. Finish is semi-dry with a fairly aggressive hop bite on the tongue.
D - This was perhaps my favorite of all the single hop varietal pale ales at the 2009 Hop Project. This was clean, crisp and well-balanced with a pronounced hop character.
