Poured into a becker glass.

Pours a hazed light orange with a big bubbly near white head. Head settles to a nice layer with good lace. Good looking pils.

Brew smells of grassy and fruity hops. Pale malts as well. Good nose.

Brew is crisp and has a mellow smooth finish. Good hops and pale malts here, grassy, fruit and biscuit round out good flavors. Good stuff here.

A great pils, one of the better I have had. I normally don't session pilsners, but this is one worth sessioning for sure.

My first Sly Fox beer and I'm digging it.

It pours a a good looking golden pilsner colour, some lacing is left behind. There's a steady stream of bubbles rising to the top of the pilsner glass. The color is a little muted however.

The smell is decent.. but not terribly complex or interesting. It starts a touch sweet and finishes with a hint of lemon hoppiness. The taste is similar in style but much better in delivery. It reminds me very much of Victory Prima Pils but its less in your face and more sessionable as a result. A nice balance between sweet malts and crisp lemon bitter hoppiness on the back end. Well done.

Mouthfeel is soft (the way a good pilsner should be) with a slightly crisp carbonation. Nice work.

Drinkability is really where this beer shines I think. It goes down in gulps and the levels are such that I don't think you could ever get sick of it. Great job.

Thanks to wrightst for this magnificent brew!

Pours a hazy golden yellow with a magnificent and quickly proliferating thick white head that eventually breaks apart in shifts; leaving prolific arcs of lace behind. Smells lemony with a bit of malty sweetness, some dry hay, and a bit of spice. Initial notes of lemon and orange float on the palate with a some resinous hops resting underneath. A bit of graininess exists, along with some orange peel. This tasty brew is dry on the edges and creamy in the middle which makes for some kickass drinking. If I could find this beer locally I would definitely have found my new favorite session brew.

Thanks to Exiled for sharing this can.

The beer pours a clear, light yellow color with a white head. The aroma is very nice. I get some bready malt, along with some grassy hops. The flavor is pilsener malt, grassy hops and a medium amount of bitterness. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. A very nice German pilsener.

Pours crystal clear yellow with a light fluffy head. Smells of saaz hops and bready malt. Nice crisp, spicy hop bitterness with some grassy flavors. Bitterness lingers for awhile. This beer has a light body with a medium amount of carbonation. Very drinkable beer would love to have one out on a hot day. This beer comes together very well.

Poured a super clear golden yellow color. The frothy white head was chunky and uneven. Smell is full of tasty bitterings hop and a surprisingly sweet light malt aroma. Refreshing and fairly light, perfect for a session. Taste is biscuity. Hop flavor is earthy and peppery. This is an excellently balanced pils. Feel is moderate to light with a slick stickiness. Perfect for a long can session!

A. Pale murky yellow with a massive foamy head. So massive and foamy, makes me think its infected. I still wanted to try it though..
At least it had a fine lacing show describes every sip/gulp in great detail.

S. Noble hops, bready malts. Some off notes.

T. An apple cider like sweetness from the yeast strain (german) and tempered with some bitter hop resins. The sweetness and the bitterness combine and reminds me kind of like fresh grapefruit. A good pils here!

M. A bit slick and oily. No doubt due to a large amount of hops.

D. A very drinkable Pils, one of my favorites from the style. Glad to try some Sly Fox. Wish I didnt have to pour so much down the drain when it foamed out..

can from Sly Fox that my sister brought home for me

A-golden, yellow straw colored ale with a full head that bubbled up very high left a bit of lace in a pint glass.

S- Strong hop spice for the style--pleasant and apparent--you don't have to search for it like some pilsners. Something of a cream corn smell underneath but not problematic.

T- light malt pairs well with a good hop character that flows from front to back nicely with little chage. Dry finish. No unpleasant aftertaste at all that can happen with such a light beer.

M-solid mouthfeel, even a bit chewy for a pilsner. Good.

Overall--a very solid interpretation of the style, German in character--definately not a weak American lager version.

Crazy check--I seem to be right on or the low side compared to other reviews. Several noted the hoppy character for the style, which is nice, but the smell and the fact that the taste suffers after warming even for a short time keep me from pushing the score higher. My ratings of Sly Fox are always higher on site when I've been there, so might try this one there next trip to compare on draft.

Gotta love beer out of the can...

Into a pint glass, pours a very hazy grassy yellow, waaay too much head, but man it was lovely, fades away after quite a while, lacing in mounds, sheets, heaps, and traces, all kinds of stuff going on. Aroma is full of grassy, herbal Noble hops, a little bit of malt, pretty decent. Taste is better, the Noble hops are done better, balance is better, citrus is nicer, grassy herbal hop tones are nice, but also a little metallic twang to it that was a little distracting. Mouth is good and carbonation is high, and overall, its just a pretty good and drinkable beer.

Had this on 2013-05-30 in Columbia, PA

A - Clear yellow with a 1-finger white head that fades pretty quickly and leaves mild lace.

S - Light bread, hints of lemon and floral. Pretty mild.

T - Bread, lemon tartness, white pepper, light herbal. Lingering citrus, pepper and a good amount of bitterness. It has its own Pils flavor thing going on. Certainly different that a Victory Prima Pils or a Troegs Sunshine Pils.

M - Light-medium body and medium carbonation. It's got some substance at first and then dries nicely. Refreshing.

O - I enjoyed this brew on a hot, almost-summer day and would be glad to have it again.

On draft at The Pony Bar. The beer appears clear and pale golden with a thin white collar. The aroma brings floral hops and grain. The taste follows suit. Nicely balanced with a lovely hop finish. I may need to get another round of this. I love a good pilsner.

German Pilseners are among my favorite style and there are a lot of good ones. This was was ok but not my favorite.

Appearance was a light straw with a very active head that stuck around for a while.

Aroma was mostly bread but you could detect some hop aroma as well as a bit of the yeast.

Flavor was good and to style. Definitely refreshing. Just not as good as some of my favorites.

A good pilsener.

Pours crystal clear yellow color with a beautiful fluffy 1-2 finger snow white head that faded slowly leaving good spotty lacing and a creamy layer on top around the rim.

Smells of floral hops, sweet malt, grains, light caramel, yeast, light herbs, coriander, a hint of lemon and bread or cracker. Very light and refreshing aroma that is well balanced.

Tastes of sweet malt, bread, floral hops, flowers, herbs, lemon, citrus hops, biscuit, light caramel, grains, mild spices like pepper and coriander, orange peel and a very faint yeast funk at the end.

Mouthfeel is smooth and crisp at the same time, with very mild carbonation, a very light body and sweet malty finish that trails off with a tiny bitterness.

Overall it is light and crisp, refreshing and extremely easy to drink. Definite session beer and perfect for the summer, I liked it a lot and thought it was a great American representation of this style.

Solid gold body with a rip-roaring carb. Thin bubbles evacuating, but not supporting much more than a thin lip of white head. I could write my name in the lacing inside the glass. 4.0

Great German hop and pale malt balance. Super-dry aroma. Grassy notes, almost clay-like earthy. Untouchable crispness. 4.0

Dry and bitter with some in-between fruity character. Dead grass, unobtrusive coppery note, Noble hops, and pale coarse grain. A tad gingery. 4.0

Thin in body, rigorous with the carbonation. A little in-check with the drinkability. 3.5

Nice little pils from Sly Fox. Go PA! 4.0

Pours a transparent golden yellow with a thin bubbly head. The nose is great, light vienna malts, hints of bread and dough with a floral perfumy hop and light note of grass. The taste has vienna and pale malts, lightly toasted bread with hints of dough. The hop balance adds perfumy hops and some light grassy notes with a touch of resigny hop in the back. The body is thicker and a touch viscous with a nice carbonation. Very tasty but a little on the heavy side for a pilsner.

Poured from the can into a pint glass.

A: Pours a dark yellow color with a nice white head that has good retention. Very nice lacing as well.

S: A nice balance between hops and grainy malts.

T: Hops up front, pepper and zesty with notes of citrus, then transitioning into the slighty grainy and grassy malts in the back. Not overly flavorful, but the taste lingers afterwords and is very pleasant.

M: Light and thin with perfect carbonation.

Overalll: A very nice flavor profile that goes great with excellent drinkability. This is the first brew i've tried by Sly Fox and i'd sure like to see what else they have.

Bought a case of cans from my local distributor.

A: Pours a gold color with nice two-finger white head. A bit of chill haze seems apparent. Good carbonation.

S: Nice delicate, floral hop aroma. Perhaps a slight lemony aroma. A bit dough-like and bready. Smells great. Nice & crisp.

T: Again with the floral hops, this time in the taste. Great crisp, clean pilsner malt character.

M: Light & refreshing. Tad bitter towards the end.

O: A great craft pils. One of my new favorites. Glad that this is local beer as I'll surely be having more.

A: Light golden color, and nice white head. Great retention leaves some expansive lacing behind.

S: Light toasted pilsner malt, and some noble hops in there.

T: Its a grain-like pilner malt taste, and a little spice in the hop finish, smooth, and simple.

M: Light to medium body, good carbonation, and a nice refreshingly dry finish.

O: Great drinkability, and its in a can so its great for summer.

Poured into a Duvel glass. Glass of cold water on the side to sip from periodically.

Appearance: The beer pours out a bright clear light golden yellow color with a ½" thick white creamy head that recedes slowly to leave a thin layer of foam on the liquid and a sheet of foam around the rim. Sipping turns part of ring of foam into scattered speckles of lacing and patches of leggy lacing that cling to the sides of the glass. Throughout most of the beer there is a sheet of foam on one side of the glass and sipping leaves behinds scattered speckles of lacing on the other.

Smell: The aroma is fresh and grassy with some floral, spicy character, along with light traces of the pilsner malt.

Taste: The flavors are predicted pretty much by the nose, with some floral, grassy character supported by layers of light malt and some spicy, lemony bitterness.

Mouthfeel: The mouth feel is light to medium bodied but slightly crisp with a prickly fine carbonation. Finish is medium to long in length with an earthy grassy bitterness that fades quietly into dryness

Drinkability: This is a very refreshing and drinkable brew and I could easily have another without hesitation. As I have in the past I'll continue to include this beer in its rotation along with some of the other favorite Pils style beers so there is no question I'll be having this beer again.

Into Roxy Rolles glass.

A- Clear, bright gold. Loose
foam on top.

S- Fresh berries (blueberry, raspberry,strawberry...). Lemony grain. Nice but unexpected. A bit of sulfur.

T- Ah here are the hops. Great noble hop taste. The good kind of grassy with a very nice, floral and slightly white grapefruit-like bitterness and finish. Malt is crisp and bready and just present enough to carry the hops.

M- Crisp, fine carbonation. Medium body but still a generally light feeling beer. Finish isn't very dry.

O- Very refrsehing, nice flavor. This is a very good beer. I wish someone in Quebec would make something similar to this (and others like Prima Pils). You got a Heineken loving friend? Have him try this. Help him understand what his beer drinking life could be like.

Can at Idle Hands, New York, NY

A: The beer is clear yellow in color and has a slight amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface.
S: There are light to moderately strong aromas of bready malts in the nose.
T: Similar to the smell, the taste has flavors of bready and grainy malts along with a slight amount of bitterness from the hops.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation. There is a slight amount of dryness in the finish.
O: The beer has some crisp refreshing properties and would be a good aperitif or accompaniment with food.

12oz. can courtesy of Soonami. Served in my SA Noble Hops Pilsener glass. Pours the color of straw with a translucent clarity and a creamy 1.5 inch, bright white head. Head eventually settles into a solid, 1/8th inch skim with textured clumps of lacing revealed as the brew recedes. Great nose - clean, grassy and a trace of cereal grain sweetness. Taste expresses noble hops, citrus, cereal grains, a bit of skunk and a light, lingering bitterness. Mouthfeel is light bodied with a crisp carbonation and a light acidity from sip to swallow. All and all, a solid Pilsener in my humble opinion. Generally not a go to style for me, but I would drink this regularly if I had regular access.

Moderate near-white head that leaves some good ring lace. Straw color and crystal clear.

Raw unmalted grain aroma initially. A touch of metal to the nose. Mild hop.

Less grainy than the smell would indicate. Good peppery hop presence in the swallow and the aftertaste. Creamy finish. A little on the thin side even for a pilsner. Very high carbonation.

A good entry to the pilsner category. It doesn't have the softness that I associate with this style. The hop bitterness, in particular, is more harsh than one would expect.

Gracious extra from Glenn, I owe you one!

Poured from the can into my Half Acre pint glass.

A - Pours a light golden color with two fingers worth of pale white head, even with a fairly gentle pour. Looks like what I'd expect a pilsener to look like, perhaps a bit more clear than I'd hope for.

S - Smell is of some piney hops, but quickly followed by the funk that I always come to expect from pilseners. Very bready scent, also the faintest hint of citrus. Altogether fairly pleasant.

T - Taste follows the nose very well! Starts with the bready taste, followed by the pine and citrus.

M - Very smooth going down, with only the slightest hint of an alcohol burn only after it's been sitting in the mouth for a bit.

O - A very refreshing offering, and a great choice for the summer!

Pours an inviting hazy pale orange color with a two finger off-white head that quickly settled to a very thin lace. Pretty good head retention for a Pils.

Smell is a tad hoppy up front in the way of citrus. Orange zest comes to mind. Not as grainy as I've come to expect from the style. Overall the smell is on the mellow side though.

More of that citrus coming through in the taste as well. I like it! The malts help things smooth out in the middle setting up for a nice finish with just a touch of lingering hop bitterness.

Not quite as thin on the mouthfeel as most other pilsners, and the carbonation level is pretty low on this too. I don't really mind either though.

This beer is an all around good beer. Nothing Earth- shattering, but it's well crafted to say the least.

Morey's Bottom Liine: Definitely not a classic example of the style, but it's a nice American twist on a fairly predictable style. Almost taste like a Pale Ale. Normally I can tell a Lager from an Ale with incredible ease, but this one's a little tough.
