Arrived in a snifter style glass with a moderate sized creamy head. Aroma was malty, sans any distinct hop aroma. The creamy, silky mouth feel was very good. The taste was well balanced maltiness with distinct, but not over powering caramal. A very slight chocolate taste at the begining, and a warm, alcohol finish made this very drinkable for me, even on a hot august day. This one will be even better during the fall football season.

Served on-tap in a tulip glass.

Appearance was a nice dark brown/cola color with a nice mocha head to it but it dissipated very rapidly.

The beer really did not have much of an aroma to it at all. It had hints of the malt and a light sweet aroma that I could not place. This could have been because I was sitting outside.

The beer had a really good taste and feel to it. It was thick and creamy with a great strong flavor. It had a slight alcohol taste to it but it was not overpowering and at times it was sweet with a hint of coffee.

Overall, this is a very drinkable beer, but one to be savored. I will order this one again the next time that I am at 5 Seasons.

Appearance: Dark walnut brown body with a thin, creamy off-white head and spotty lacing.

Smell: The aroma is pretty puny with only a faint hint of peated malt and cherries.

Taste: Predominately sweet malty flavor with a bit of smoky peat character. Slight maraschino cherry fruitiness. Only a faint, faint touch of hop bitterness on the altogether sweet finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Mild carbonation. Light stickiness.

Drinkability: I found it to be somewhat reserved in its qualities for a scotch ale, but overall it was decent and easily drinkable.

Just to start this beer saved my opinion of 5 Seasons.

A- Chestnut hue with some lacing.

S- Wow great malt smell

T- Very nice balance some hops great grains. There is even some peat flavor in there which is great.

A- Good carbonation perfect thickness.

D- Very drinkable just a good beer. I think the beer could be even better hence it only getting up into the 4 area but if given the chance give it a try. Maybe it on cask would make the 5 on mouthfell and drinkability and taste with a little more peat it would win me but thats just me.

A delight! The rich dark chocolaty color is inviting; head is on the thin side. Aroma is not strong but pleasant, decidedly malty with burnt coffee undertones. The exceptionally rich flavor has strong coffee tones with smoky and nutty elements and just a touch of bitterness. This very enjoyable brew is to be sipped and savored on its own, rather than chugged down or consumed with a meal.

On-tap into snifter.

Very dark red, practically opaque. Sticky lacing with a bubbly rim.

Deep caramel and fruit aromas, and very malty.

Fruity flavors with some hints of caramel and a creamy taste. Little bit of alcohol in the finish.

Very good Wee Heavy, this one has to be one of my favorites. Also, it is a little frutier than the others I have tried.

The beer arrived at the table clear dark amber brown with a lasting tan head which laced the glass.

The aroma was malty and slightly nutty with dark carmel and a low aroma of chocolate that emerged as the beer warmed.

The flavor was malty with noticeable chocolate that only increased in presence as the beer warmed. The maltiness contained some toffee and caramel presence as well.

The finish was matly with lasting chocolate that dried out over time into a light hop presence in the finish. The body was medium and well executed.

This was by far the best beer on tap at 5 Seasons.

This was an amazing beer. The malt was very chewy, and there was all sorts of stuff going on. Cola and peat. Caramel and more. It was delicious. Nicely dark. There wasn't anything better at Classic City Brew fest and we went back several times of the course of the festival to try it again. The odd thing is that the guy working the booth had a disturbing resemblance to a friend of mine from high school.
