loudy burnt amber, with no real large head. What was there faded quickly but left a film of gooey, drippy lace skimming on the top, lots of eddys and swirls rounding about on it. Deep dripping lace down the glass, and a bit of a bubble stream coming up from the bottom. Smell was big and strong. Big citrus players here, lots of orange and grapefruit. Very sweet smell, like orange sherbert or candy. Very nice and plesing to the nose, smells like it will be a winner. Taste struck me as odd, after all the sugary itrus in the smell, none really came through in the taste. There was a strong bitter hop presence, providing lots of IBU's however it was more of a pine, resiney type of hops, rather then the sweet candy orange that came through at first. Nice and crisp, clean, very dry and long lingering finish,

Chilled 12 oz. bottle into a shaker pint. Bottling date 1.15.12
Look- Crystal clear pale amber with a finger and a half of off-white suds. Good retention, nice lacing.
Smell- Very faint. Swirling brings out a hint of candied banana, lime, graham cracker, and spice. Sweet, but as faint as it is it isn't overdone.
Taste- Banana again, though closer to banana-raisin muffins than the powdery fruit flavor of a Belgian. Moderate hop bitterness washes after the initial sweetness, otherwise the flavors don't really develop, but overtake one another in turns. The barest hints of black tea and tangerine are present in the aftertaste. Balanced leaning towards bitter.
Mouthfeel- Medium-full body, moderate carbonation comes out on the sip. It's got some heft and stick to it. Drinks like double-brewed herbal tea with lemon.
Overall- Nice. Not too much going on after the initial flavors come out, but what's there is interesting and refreshing. Worth trying, and I'll pick up a fresher bottle the next time I see one.
