The best beer store in Atlanta, period. Every time I visit, I am more impressed. There are other places in town that sell good beer, but at this place, it feels more like a labor of love. The best place to get Belgians (especially Lambics) in town, they also excel in the German imports and American micros. If any beer is sold in the state of Georgia, there is a good bet Green's has it in stock. The Buford Highway location is much better than the Ponce location due to the employee dedication If you are ever in town and have to visit one store, make it this one. If you know your beers, this is the place to go, because they love stocking it all.

If you expect hand holding kind of service when you visit this place, you might be a little disappointed, unless Adam Tolsma is in. Everyone is always friendly, and cordial, but they pretty much leave you alone unless you ask for help.

Apart from the great selection, the prices are very good as well. A discount is given if you use cash or debit card. If you buy more than 12 singles or four sixpacks, another discount applies on top. The single most importatnt beer shopping stop in Atlanta is here. Nobody else need apply.

Stopped in while I was in Atlanta thanks to an email response from store owner. Really nice selection of beers that I have not tried and cannot get in Richmond. Lots of 90+ rated beers both US and abroad. Happened to.get a case of Westbrook 4th Anniversary while I wad in there. Got a bottle which was a nice surprise. Would stop again. Carried great beers like The Bruery, Prairie Artisan Ales, Terrapin, etc. Great selection.

Greens is an Atlanta institution: a longtime supporter of craft beer, before the abv limit was increased from 6%. In fact, as recently as ~2009 they had early-2000s Lou Pepe vintages collecting dust on the shelves. Wild how the craft culture has evolved so fast.

Reasonably convenient to both midtown and buckhead, this is a generic warehouse package store. Great selection of wine, liquor and of course beer. Thousands of varieties, some on the shelf while more popular options are in the cooler.

Selection is not an issue here but I’m afraid quality has become and issue. You’ll always have fresh IPA options and such, but some beers turnover very very slowly - check dates on any German ales in bottles! Less popular beer can sit here for 12+ months. This can also be a good thing: I’ve scored 30$ bottles of Cascade for 10$ because they wanted to clear inventory

There was a time when Greens selection was unparalleled in Atlanta; that is no longer the case. This is still a great beer store but beware of old beer on the shelves.

Good representation of both domestic and import craft brews, with a particularly good stock of Belgians. Limited selection in coolers. Friendly, if not particularly knowledgeable service. Selection notably weaker than their Ponce de Leon (Atlanta) location.

I use to shop at Greens until they blatantly lied to me regarding the Terrapin Cinn'Rolled, saying that it wasnt coming until friday the 19th, when they had already recieved it on Monday the 14th....

They try to force you to join facebook, as they try to insinuate that the only method of finding out what they have, is to be a member of a site that constantly gives out personal information. Id rather call and simply ask, but apparently answering a phone call is too much work for them.

Its getting to the point where the only good liqour store here is towers, but im honestly to the verge of only buying 40's at gas stations because these stores have such pathetic customer service. I will never shop at greens again.

Great package store. Beer staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Prices are usually cheaper than most other places. Great variety of beer with new beers arriving every week. Tons of craft beer and a healthy selection of Belgium. I would highly recommend this store when in Atlanta.

As previously noted, this place is hell to get in and out of if traffic is heavy, please take note. They have an amazing bottle selection though. I was blown away. Wide array of local goodies from the South Atlantic, and beers from all over the world. They have a decent amount of beers in the fridge and many sitting on the shelf. Really nice selection.
We got there towards the end of the night and felt kind of rushed to make a selection...I guess they close at 10 or something, which I did not expect. Maybe it's the norm in this area of the country.

Trekked over into the madhouse of Atlanta rush hour traffic to stop by this place to look around... Dangerous as hell to get in and out of, for sure... At rush hour, it's like rolling the dice pulling out of this place...

Selection here is vast and varied... A huge wall of Belgians with several brews I'd never even heard of...Lots to choose from but I didn't see any "must haves" if you will...

I did pick up a super fresh sixer of Two Hearted, a couple of Allagash brews, and an Older Viscosity... They had a load of Mikkeller and Nogne brews as well as several selections from Founders, Bells, Great Divide and several others...

An impressive place but I think I liked Tower's a bit better. This place is great, don't get me wrong, but I drove a long way and wound up buying more over at Tower's than I did here..

Stop number two....didn't look like much from the outside, but was real nice inside, very clean. Staff was very friendly and I saw them helping other customers, though I didn't ask any questions. I saw a shelf FULL of Devil Dancer for the bargain price of 17.99, but I didn't pick any up. Good selection of Founders, Port, Sweetwater, New Belgium, and the usual. Huge selection of Belgians too...I believe they had the entire Mikkeller single hop line, though I didn't pick any up. Got a couple bombers and was on my way. Would definitely stop by again.

I love Green's! It's located on buford highway right near sidney marcus, so I can usually make it be on my way home to Sandy Springs from anywhere in midtown/little 5/etc.

They have an amazing selection of craft beer and you really can't beat the prices. If you pay in cash, it's a little cheaper even, so definitely bring plenty of cash. You're gonna end up buying more than you meant to. I consider 5 points bottle shop in Athens to be one of the top places to buy beer in the state, but I've found things at Green's that I've never seen there.

The people who work there aren't very interested in the customers and they don't seem too knowledgeable, so it helps if you kind of know what you're looking for or if you just have a lot of time to browse.

Green's is great. I always leave with something new and exciting.

I go to Green's on Buford quite often. It's in a convenient location near 400 and I85. Plenty of parking and decently clean on the inside, but certainly nothing special.

I've never really had any problems with quality here. The IPAs are generally stored in the coolers, which is nice. Everything else is quite far from any sunlight.

The service is generally solid, but not particularly knowledgeable. Most times there is a guy there, I assume a manager of some sort, that will help me find what I need if I ask.

The selection is quite amazing. There is a great Belgian selection along with other imports (HUGE Mikkeller selection). The craft selection is equally as impressive. This place probably has the best selection on any given day in the city of Atlanta (sorry, Hop City - you're the "go to" for so many people your stock runs dry pretty quickly for the more sought after beers).

If you know what you want, this place is great. You won't find great service here, but it's certainly better than the Ponce store.

First place we hit in Atlanta on this last trip there. We thought it was a nice store, had clean restrooms, which one needs after driving in the Atlanta traffic. LOL, anyway Nice beer selection, great Belgian beer selection, more beer than we had funds for. No service but then I did not need any, and was glad to be able to spend 30 minutes looking without some one bugging me to be honest.

My only bitch is checking out. it seems they do not read bar codes, but have to enter in the brewers name, and this poor lady took 10 minutes to check us out, I was not too happy with how long it took and I was the only one checking OUT??? anyway I would still go back. price higher than Total wine but then again TW never had this Belgian selection ever. At least not in store in the SE I been too.

This is a great store in terms of selection on the beer side. They have probably the best bomber selection I have seen in Atlanta. They have a decent amount of cooler space so you can get something cold. As I stated above you can't go wrong here if you are looking for something only sold in bomber bottles. In terms of service not much can be said. I don't think I have ever had anyone ask me if I needed help before. I usually have a good laugh with the check out people which gives them a plus on the service side I guess. The prices are definitely reasonable. Nothing seems to be overpriced compared to other places I have been to in Atlanta.

Pretty much the same beer selection as the Green's on Ponce, but this is overall a smaller, cleaner, less crowded store. They don't have the walk-in Belgian room, but the shelf on the back wall has plenty of Belgians. Lots of singles, but some stuff is unfortunately only available in 6 packs. Very dangerous parking lot exit onto Buford Highway.

Overall it's tied with the other Green's for being the second best bottle shop in town. Head over to Hop City in Midtown West if you've only got the time/money for one stop.

Alright, so I decided it was time for me to re-review this place.

First, my "gripes":

There's not always a staff member readily available to help you in the craft beer section. You generally have to go to the wine section or the front of the store and have them call for somebody. Once someone does arrive to help you, though, they're always extremely friendly and glad to help. Also, the only "singles" section they have is a small shelving unit next to the warehouse door -- the singles selection is limited, and I've found that it's mostly just a place where they stash out-of-date beer.

Now, enough with the gripes -- on to the good stuff.

Massive selection of beer. If it's available in Georgia, Greens will have it. Also, once other stores have sold out of certain limited beers, Greens will usually still have some. For instance, Greens still had a good line-up of 6-8 Cantillon brands long after pretty much every store was entirely sold out.

Also, the "beer guys" are very helpful. I believe the actual beer guy is Adam (haven't met him), but I generally deal with Scott (who I believe is actually the manager). Scott's a top notch dude.

Another thing I love about Greens is that they're very willing to hold a beer for you. If you call ahead and request they hold a bottle or two for you, they'll do so. If they tell you no, then it's only because it's already spoken for -- just make sure you call sooner next time!

Over the last year, Greens has slowly transitioned into my primary beer spot. It's not as "craft beer boutique" as Hop City or Ale Yeah, but their selection is second to none. They don't sell brewing supplies, and if you're looking to get immersed in the whole craft beer scene, then Greens isn't necessarily the spot. But as far as pure selection and price goes, you can't go wrong with Greens.

Finally stopped at the Buford location on the way back from Asheville. I have just never stopped in here for some reason and figured it was about time. One thing to bitch about right away is the entrance into the parking from the highway. Steep as hell and can't see anything when trying to pull out at night. Cars come up on you quick so be careful when pulling out.

Now that I got that rant out of the way, I really have no others. A very nice store on the inside and kept pretty damned clean. Beer selection is off to the left and seems like they have a good amount more beer than the Ponce location. It may just be because there is a hell of a lot more room here than at the Ponce location, but it just seems like more.

Couldn't really find anyone to help me track down some beers but I rolled in late and the beer guys may have already left. I have called the store in the past and I know they are pretty helpful at least in that arena.

Lots of great beers that you expect to find at Green's, plenty of locals, imports, Belgians, craft, etc. Green's really does do a great job with the selection. Will probably be going to this location more often now that I finally made it out here.

I stopped here while in Atlanta on business. I was very impressed. Excellent selection and just a ton of great stuff, especially imports. A terrific selection of Belgians, in particular. Had all the locals I was looking for, including the last bottle of Terrapin 90 Shelling and some Farmhouse Ale. Very good selection of American crafts overall, and quite reasonably priced as well (Hop Stoopid for $4.11). Being from PA I didn't see a ton that is not available there aside from locals, but it was all in one location. Very impressive. They did have some singles but not a lot - for the most part it was 4packs and 6packs, but the prices were quite reasonable. I didn't seek any service out so I won't knock it too much, although no one asked me if I needed help either. I could see myself shopping here regularly if I were local; I will certainly stop back next time I'm in Atlanta.

Hard to say anything about this place that hasn't been said already. Crazy selection. Probably the biggest I've ever seen. And their import selection is hands down the most impressive one I've seen. I don't even think I had enough time to completely process how large the selection is. Locals are lucky to have this gem. I'm really excited about all the great brews I got. Had to stock up on Terrapin while I'm in Georgia!

Overall the prices are very reasonable. The variety 12 pack of Terrapin was $15; 4 packs of Rye Squared were $10. Everything else was at or below the prices I've seen in other stores. BTW, the cash price is only like 10 cents below the credit price on most beers. Not a huge deal.

I didn't get a chance to talk beer with any of the employees, but they were reasonably friendly and they offered to carry my box o' beers out to the car for me. Nice.

The selection at this place is almost overwhelming. They have an tons of Europeon beers. The US craft lines weren't as mindblowing but very good to say the least. The prices are near impossible to beat, especially if you pay cash. All prices are clearly listed with a cash price and credit price. The only bad thing I could say is that the cashier's aren't especially friendly. The lady gave my friend a big hassle about his ID. It was an out of state license, but hardly since Alabama is a neighboring state.

Overall great store that should be the top destination in ATL. I will most definitely be returning again.

This store has a huge selection, very strong on Belgian beers, German beers, UK beers, and USA craft beers. Some of the prices are unbelievably low compared with the Midwest. For example, Stone RIS 12oz bottles are only $2.99 while in OH they go for an obscene $4.99 (the bombers are $5.99 here versus $6.99 at home). Cantillon Vignerone is only $14.99 (compared with $19.99 in OH) and other Belgian beers are generally $1-2 cheaper here. Two prices are marked on each label, "charge" price and the lower cash price. This is a little far from downtown but the selection seems worth it. Only negative is not enough singles available in the USA craft beers.

This is one of my favorite stores in the city. In fact if I am within a 3 mile radius or so, my car just auto pilots there no matter what else is going on. Guess I am lucky I don't work right around the corner.

The selection is amazing. A lot of hard to find brews, and a lot of limited releases. They are usually the first to have something new on the shelf when it is new as well.

The staff is knowledgeable, however is seems like unless a few key people are around no one is going to come up and assist you.

This is one of the few stores that has a very large variety of craft beer already chilled.
