We pour a brew of translucent straw color. Even on a hard pour a head was hard to rouse. There was no lacing or film, and carbonation appeared light. The nose is predominated by grain. There is thick skunk and adjunct, with corn and flour. There is a char, but it is not dark or roasty. It is more of a dirty smell, with slight minerals. As we sip, there is grain up front, with a sweetness and sourness of sugary grain. The middle moves forward with seltzer bubbliness, with a hollow lime. We finish with rather even grain and hot metallic acid, of something like a hot salsa. The aftertaste breathes of cereal grain, dry sugars, and flour. The body is medium and the carbonation is medium. There is fine smack and slurp to each sip, despite the lack of bubbles or a head. The mouth is dried slightly, and left wet. The beer drinks easily.

Overall, what we enjoyed most about this brew was the flavoring. For a nonalcoholic beer it didn’t skimp on the flavoring. It was adjuncty and corny for sure, but it didn’t have any abnormal notes trying to cover up for something that wasn’t there. It really is hard to make up for a missing component, but they execute this well, although this doesn’t make it any better than the average adjunct lager.
