On-tap at the brewery - the name was "Pisgah Belgian" but the style was certainly a dubbel so I'll rate it here.
Pours a slightly hazy light brown color with a half-finger off-white head. The head recedes into a wispy layer on top leaving light lacing.
Smells of brown sugar and dark fruits - mostly figs and raisins.
Tastes similar to how it smells. Sweet malt flavors up front are joined shortly by figs and raisins coated in brown sugar. The ending is sweet.
Mouthfeel is good. It has a body that's a bit thinner than most of the style but with nice carbonation.
Drinkability is very good. I didn't have a problem finishing my glass and could have another.
Overall, this was one of the least complex beers I had at the brewery however all of the flavors were right where they needed to be. Not a great dubbel but one certainly worth giving a shot.

On-tap at the brewery served in a standard pint-glass a crisp light copper with a thin diminishing head. Aroma is a bit of brown malts and dried fruits. The taste is a nice subtle amount of of malts and fruits providing an interesting complexity. The beer is not as heavy as many other Dubbels, but that's an advantage on a warm Spring afternoon! The beer is medium bodied with decent carbonation. This one is quite enjoyable for the style.

Nice new Belgian offering from Pisgah that I was able to try for the first time the other day. Served in a pint glass, this one was consumed on 02/23/2009.
The pour was very nice. Deep dark amber, nearly a brown color with a good amount of cloudiness to it, enough that you could barely see the other side of the glass. Nice light head came up and over the top and settled down easily into a thin film that thoroughly coated the inside of the glass. The aroma was loaded with spice. Nice charged yeast presence here with a hint of dark fruit and a touch of a peppery nose. Smooth sailing from here on in, the alcohol was soo well hidden, it was not even an after thought. Sweet malts and a nice tangy, spice like flavor rolled across the tongue with a wonderfully carbonation, smooth, medium bodied feel. I have to admit this was one of the best, and easily the most drinkable dubbel's I have ever come across. Pisgah's new Belgian offering is a treat that people are going to eat up!
