This beer is a cloudy orange with a good sized head and the beer is very carbonated. The smell is citrus and the Belgian nature shows strongly. The Belgian yeast is very prominant in the taste as well as wheat. The mouthfeel is very carbonated and the abv certainly shows. Overall this is probably a decent beer of the style.

On-tap at the brewery as part of a flight.
Hazy straw yellow in appearance, definitely unfiltered. Smell of dry yeast and light funk. Taste is tons of yeast and spice and sweet. Spices are heavy on the coriander. Med-high carb and med-light body.
A very good and very spicy tripel.

On tap at Barley's Taproom in Asheville. Served in a goblet.
A - dark gold with a hazy orangish hue; thin lacing of white head; ton of carbonation rising to the top
S - orange peel, belgian funk, spicy
T - white grapes, spicy, yeasty, warming alcohol in the finish
M - warm, medium to full bodied, well carbonated, smooth
This is a pretty decent Tripel. It has decent flavor. The alcohol is noticeable but doesn't detract from anything. It's worth trying.

I had this on tap at an awesome store called "City Beverage" in Winston-Salem.
Served in a plastic cup... seriously?
A: Poured a hazy apricot-orange color, with a slight 1/4 finger head that retained itself throughout the session.
S: I got LOTS of banana, clove, coriander, and a candy sugar component that reminded me of diluted pixie stick dust. Nice!
T: The spice content was especially strong with this one, but the sweet component was kept in check by what I can only best describe as peat moss.
M: This had a really nice carbonation bill... perfect for this style actually which is really tough to do. Like I stated before, the sweetness was tempered and of the organic, fresh fruit variety, and with a tinge of salt mixed in as well.
O: This was my first Pisgah brew and I'm happy to report that they got it right... especially considering the duds that are floating around out there in the Tripel world.

Served side by side with a Delirium Tremens, otherwise I may have liked this more. The Delirium was better in both feel (partly due to the higher carbonation) and flavor.
S: plenty of yeasty banana with clove. Bready malt in the background. The flavor follows the nose, and had a bit too much of the banana/clove thing going on, as well being a shade too sweet.
Hazy, in contrast to the bright, crystal clear Delirium, but with a similar large white head that had good retention.
O: falls short of world-class, but a fine attempt for an American and organic version of this Belgian style.

A: pours a yellow-gold with a finger of white head that fades into a frothy ring with little lacing.
S: lots of spices and bubblegum and candy sugar at first along with some faint light fruit notes with a sweet bready finish.
T: lots of Belgian spices again followed by bubblegum, candy sugar, and pear flavors. The finish is of sweet breads and yeast with a light alcohol burn.
M: medium-light body with highish carbonation, this beer is a little under-attenuated, but not too thick and sweet.
O: a good American tripel. It's tasty, though a little sweet and thick for the style.

Enjoyed on-tap @ the Mellow Mushroom in Asheville, NC for $5. Tapped from an unknown tap handle (sitting @ a table) into a 16oz Pint Glass.
Aroma- Strongest aroma and definitely hits with tons of hop and malt. The coolest part of this aroma is the Banana Chip scent that is dominant! Wild!
Appearance- Received with a .5 finger head that lasts for decent time. Has a clear, golden body and barely leaves suds behind. Most of them disappear after each drink.
Flavor- Starts with the nicest banana flavor I've ever found in a Tripel. Then a good amount of sweetness and malt hit nicely. A medium-high bitterness level comes from hops and ingredient.
Mouthfeel- Medium Bodied, Good Carbonation, Bites the palate hard, and then has a nice malty finish.
Overall Impression- Can't even describe this brew... You have to have it yourself! The banana chip aroma and flavor was UNREAL. I could drink this all day but was very strong. Had a huge buzz after enjoying this one and the other 3 from the Mellow Mushroom. Get your hands on if you can! One of my top Tripels I've ever enjoyed.

On draft at Mellow Mushroom in Asheville, NC
golden transulucent, almost champagne appearance with minimal white foam
aroma was sweet, apples, a slight souring scent
Taste was over-the-top sweet. hints of banana, stronger apple notes. I will say the 9+ abv was well blended and did not add any heeat/chaos into the mix.
Mouthfeel was light-medium and a bit bubbly.
I like Belgians but this was way too sweet. Still drinkable and I enjoyed it more for the local experience than the actual beer. The sweetness made this more dessert beer than an nice high-gravity Tripel sipper

Sampled on tap at The Thirsty Monk in Asheville, NC. Served in a small goblet.
Golden and clear with a moderate white head. Aroma is black pepper and fruit. Taste follows with the spicy black pepper and fruit. A bit on the sweet side. Silky mouthfeel with a moderate carbonation.
A smooth, balanced beer that most would enjoy.

Had this one on draft served in a shaker pint. Good color for a tripel. Got a taste of belgian yeast character , but was overwhelmed by sweetness. It tasted like I was drinking unfermented wort. I drank about 1/3 of the pint and was over with this one.

Had during an afternoon ticking session at Pisgah! Served from tap into a sampler imperial pint. Poured a golden straw yellow with a half finger pure white head that remained throughout. Maintained excellent lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt and banana. The flavor was of sweet malt, banana, and bread. It had a light feel on the palate with medium-high carbonation. Overall this was a pretty good brew. While this one was not very complex, it was really easy drinking. 9%!?!? Where the Hell did Pisgah learn the ninja-art of hiding alcohol in their beer!? Holy Christ... I need to take a DD with me next time I go. Pretty good flavor profile going on here as well as the aroma for the style. Another standout on my ticking session while at Pisgah.
