Received in recent trade w/ a NY BA.
Poured from 12oz bottle into snifter.

A: Wow--big, carmelly malt profile. Herbal hops accompany a sweet, candied pineapple aroma. Also evident is a soft alcohol note.

A: Body of the beer is halfway between copper and gold, with a slight haze. Pours a 1/2 finger of off-white foam, which goes away fast.

F: Wow again! Big, boozy caramel. Herbal hops, and candied pineapple again. Peppery booze. Again, very sweet, sticky caramel flavor. Also picking up a cherry-vanilla flavor.

M: Medium-full slick mouthfeel. Carbonation is medium-low.

O: I always heard great things about this brew, but then read recent threads with "polarized" opinions. I definitely stand with those who think this beer is a great one. (I only wish it weren't so hard to find!) Get a bottle and see for your self!
