12oz bottle poured into a fine tulip pilsner glass.

A- this beer poured beautilully, I must attribute that, at least partially, to the glass. 2 1/2 finger head that needed 5 minutes to settle to a thin film, sticky lacing left behind. Beautiful bubbles, well carbonated. The nice deep copper/orange color is indicative of a big IPA.

S-Sweet whiskey is the line leader here. I cannot identify the booze because I am not a whiskey drinker, but I know it (generally) when I smell it. Big and boozey. DFH calls this beer "the holy grail for hopheads". Well, this hophead would like to pick up some hop aroma, and that is just not happening here.

T- OK, now I pick up the hops, but this is way too sweet. The mouthfeel tells me there is a malt backbone, but the sweet alcohol screams corn and grain.

M- a lot of body, full and thick. But the thick body is sticky sweet malt.

O- Sorry, guys... I do not get this at all, and I really want to like it. It is nearly undrinkable even considering the brewer's snifter recommendation. When I open a beer, I expect beer, not booze.
