Notes:
As the name suggests The Green Devil is a hoppy double IPA brewed with heaping amounts of jalapeno pepper and cilantro. The aroma is full of jalapeno twang and a grassy green brightness intermingled with citrusy hops. Jalapeno hits the taste buds first with heat up front and a delicious smack of hops with a malty middle and bitter finish.

Review from notes Consumed during the Weekend of Compelling Ales and Whatnot.
A: Pours a hazy golden/orange color with a one finger white head that had good retention. Nice bubble lacing on the sides.
S: A surprising amount of peppers that I can certainly tell are jalepenos. Underneath the peppers there is a little bit of citrus and caramel. Looking forward to sipping it at this point.
T: More citrus here, soem grapefruit and a little pineapple with a bit of caramel and grainy malt. The peppers come through a little bit on the initial taste but start to come out more on the finish. The blend of hops and peppers is very nice.
M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Crisp and easy drinking. Abv hidden well.
O: A pleasant surprise. The hops and jalapenos are balanced very nicely, too often the peppers are either way too strong or barely come through, but this beer has both in good proportion.

Appearance: hazy dark orange in color with a 1/2" head that slowly fell.
Smell: caramel, chili peppers, and a bit of citrus comes through to the nose.
Taste: big caramel flavors, citrus, and some decent earthy and floral hop bitterness. The heat from the peppers arrives late and is not overpowering or offensive, providing a different take on a DIPA.
Mouthfeel: medium bodied. Lightly crisp throughout with some dryness arriving at the finish. Long lasting aftertaste here.
Overall: I found this to be a very drinkable DIPA as the spiciness was very soft but complimentary to the overall flavor profile.

Reviewed from notes:
Appearance: copper orange with a 1 finger off white head
Smell: vegetable, jalapeno, cilantro, smoke, malts
Taste: jalapeno, cilantro, malts,
Mouthfeel: mild carbonation, medium body,
Overall: pretty decent ipa. Just wish it had the heat from the jalapeno, instead u just get the pepper flavor.
Cheers,
The CPJ
