This unique brew is reminiscent of cherry pie, using a Midas Touch base and lacto blend with tart cherries to give a sweet and sour flavor complemented with turkish cherrystone spice.

Had on tap at the DFH Brewpub. Review from notes.
A: Poured a hazy red/pink with some orange hues to it as well. A small off-white head formed on top with decent retention and minimal lacing.
S: Some cherry and apple and plenty of spices, mostly cinnamon. There is a definite sweetness and bit of bready malt.
T: A nice tartness on the flavor profile. There is some cherry and a bit more apple, but more like bruised apple. A little bit of cinnamon. The cherry is a bit stronger on the flavor than the aroma.
M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.
O: A nice offering from DFH. Would love for them to make this more often. Regular Midas Touch is not one of my favorites, but this is one of the better brewpub exclusives I have had from DFH in a while.

From 09/09/11 notes. Had on tap at Night of the Funk.
a - Pours a murky reddish-pink brown color with an onch of off white head and moderate carbonation evident.
s - Smells exactly like the cereal Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Loads of cinnamon, sweet sugar and fruit, bready malts, and apples. Really sweet and enjoyable.
t - Taste again is like Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Lots of cinnamon and brown sugar, bready malts, apple, and dark fruits. Very nice.
m - Medium body and low carbonation.
o - Overall a really nice, fun beer. Didn't remind me of a wild ale at all and I didn't find much sour fruit at all, but it was sweet and loaded with cinnamon. Not sure if you'd be able to drink a whole glass of this one, but nice in small doses.

Growler shared by Bobby.
A: The beer pours a pinkish-red color with a small pink tinted head.
S: Despite being made with cherries, this seems to have more of a distinct apple pie aroma to this. Sweet fruit with plenty of spices, seems like cinnamon. A light tartness with a really nice cherry and apple aroma.
T: Tart and acidic, an almost Granny Smith apple kind of flavor. A bit cidery with a less pronounced apple pie flavor. Plenty of spices and pie flavor. A more obvious cherry character on the palate.
M: Light in body with medium carbonation.
O: The fruitiness was really wonderful and I liked the spices as well. A well done experiment.

Had the pleasure of being at Rehoboth Beach pub just after 75-minute kicked, and replaced with Midas Touchstone!
Menu describes as:
Midas Touchstone -
"This unique brew is reminiscent of cherry pie, using Midas Touch base and lactobacillus blend with tart cherries to give a sweet and sour flavor complemented with Turkish cherrystone spice - 7.7% ABV"
I compared it to Midas Touch, and it is literally a light year ahead in color, flavor, and pleasure... This would be a good introduction for someone not familiar with sour ales. I don't know if I'd go as far as saying that it's 'reminiscent of cherry pie', but it was sweet enough to have as a dessert.

Reviewed from notes:
Apprearance: pinkish red with a 1 finger head
Smell: sour, cherries,
Taste: full blown sour cherry bomb, reminds me of my grandma's sour cherry pie. Yum
Mouthfeel: mild carbonation, medium body
Overall: one of the best beers to come out of DFH in awhile. So glad I got to try it. Delicious.
Cheers,
TheCPJ
