Aged this bottle personally for approximately the last 4 years.

Pours a light brown mahoghany/copper in color w/ a thin skim coat white head that leaves minimal lacing. The only aroma I can smell is booze soaked dark fruits(raisins/plums/figs), not necessarily a bad thing. The taste was pretty much like the smell, accompanied by oak, and some tobacco. Medium bodied and decently lush. This is alot more drinkable than it was 4 years ago, and it has mellowed substantially.

Overall, this is not the best barleywine in the world fresh to start w/, as I don't much care for it fresh. However, I can finish a 12oz. bottle and am starting to enjoy it a bit at 4 years of age. Personally, I agree w/ the bottle that the best idea for this bottle is to dig a hole, bury it, and forget about it. In 10 years this brew will probably be fantastic.
