750ml bottle (bottled in 2011). Poured into a Dogfish Head signature glass.

A - Pours a quite clear bright orange color with a thick finger of fizzy but foamy head that lasts a minute or so and falls slowly leaving small traces of lacing on the glass.

S - Right out of the bottle there is a big aroma of thick bready malt. Smells almost like slightly burnt homemade bread just out of the oven. Rather earthy also, grainy, yeasty, toasty, herbal with chamomile easily noticed, floral and perfumey. Lots going on here...overall not really like any other beer...it is definitely beer-y, but just different enough to be able to call it unique.

T - Fruity, mildly tart and quite herbal which isn't what I expected from the aroma. Chamomile, cinnamon, light brown sugar. A bit grainy underneath, but most of the bready character of the aroma doesn't quite make it into the flavor. Different and rather refreshing...pretty good on a sunny summer day.

M - Light in body, assertive carbonation that is prickly on the tongue. Lots of fruitiness that is difficult to characterize as many of the ingredients here are unknown to me in their flavors. Definitely herbal in character overall but light and refreshing at the same time.

O - One of the more enjoyable Dogfish Head experimental/ancient beers I've had. Light and easy drinking, quite complex and interesting. Not sure it is something I'd seek out again, but glad to have tried it...and I'd definitely have it again willingly if placed in front of me.
