A: Dull lemon brass with some orange hues for coloring that was filled with a moderately rising effervesce filling the glass. A softy frothy, cream like head, leaves various clumping for lace behind.

S: Bright lemon and coriander along with oranges are evident upfront. Lightly dry wheat along with lemongrass fills the nose while finishing out with a slight dry citrus sourness. Reminds me a bit of a hoegaarden.

T: Bright and sassy on the open with a zing of citrusy hops, lemon, and a strong dry wheat backing. Fresh oranges is mingles with evident lemongrass notes that is slightly dry and sour with an acidic bite thrown in for good measure. Solid by example flavorwise.

M: Zippy on the carbonation factor brings the mouthful to life with a sharp as a tack feeling. Creamy wheat and oat like texture with a medium body and dry lemon grind coating on the tongue.

D: Nice drinkability, though towards the end of the bottle you will start feeling the slowdown a bit. A bright zing brings a good start to the drink, while a bomber should suffice and be a good example per style.

From a capped 750ml bottle stamped "bottled in 2010" into a shaped DFH pint glass. I picked this up a few months back during a visit to the DFH Rehoboth brewpub location.

Pours a cloudy straw yellow color with a finger of white head that has pretty good retention supported by the constantly rising bubbles of carbonation. There is a constant film of white bubbles atop this brew that congregates along the side of the glass in a thicker layer. A light swirl revives the cap back to a finger's strength and provides some faint patchy lace.

The aroma of this brew is fruity with the spice of coriander induced lemon, smooth lasting light banana notes, a bit of clove and a sweet candy smell like that of pink "original flavored" bubblegum. Overall this is a fine smelling witbier. The lemon is more pronounced than other examples of the style but overall it works and makes a very enjoyable blended yet bold nose.

The taste of this brew is light and refreshing. Right upfront is the taste of coriander with a pine-sol like exaggerated and almost fake tasting lemony flavor that is clingy to the inside of the mouth. There is a spice of clove included along with a smooth mellow banana flavor before it gives way to a very light wheat grainy base. It finishes fairly tart as expected for a wit. A little bit of belgian style alcohol warmth becomes evident in the backend of this brew.

This is a very easy drinking and enjoyable brew. It is light to medium bodied with a high level of carbonation. Overall it is well balanced yet bold with it's flavor and scent for the style. The lemony aspect could be tamed down a bit but it was a pleasure to drink and probably the best example of the style I have had in recent memory despite the exaggerated lemon flavor. This beer needs to be around come summertime next year.

Pours a whitish-yellow color with a thick, frothy head that fades down gradually, leaving lacing behind.

A mix of coriander, orange and only a slight hint of lemongrass show up in the nose. Very practical.

There's plenty of coriander within to satisfy, followed up by orange and a slight touch of lemongrass.

Mouthfeel is "airy" or "fluffy" with just the right feel for the style. There's just a hint of every flavor left.

I give this high marks for the emphasis on coriander and the excellent mouthfeel. Can you say extremely drinkable craft beer?

Pours a pale, slightly cloudy straw color with a pure white head that sticks around as medium cap and leaves some decent lacing. Nice spicy and lemony aromas, with a particularly nice floral hit of lemongrass. The taste is a bit more subtle, with a gentleness overall, some very light spice notes, some decent lemongrass, and a soft finish. The beer could use a little more crispness, and a little more depth of flavor, but overall it's fairly intriguing and quite refreshing.

Pleasant but extremely light-bodied Wit-like beer. Pale, hazy grayish golden in color. Modest foam in the glass, and spritzy mouthfeel.

Light flavors with just a touch of orange. Not much evidence of the lemongrass supposed to be in the brew, but that's probably a good thing. More of a seltzer water taste. Light bit of malt sweetness is the best feature-- sort of a watery Hefeweizen flavor.

Overall it's pretty anemic, though inoffensive in flavor. What's offensive is the price of a bottle.

Yeasty aroma has fruity, spicy and malty hints. It pours a slightly hazy solar yellow with a minimal white head that still leaves some good lacing. Malty and wheaty flavor has a firm yeasty undertone and floral and fruity hints, and is very refreshing. Smooth texture has fairly firm body and a rather strong fizz, leaving behind a persistent tingle.

Pours a pale white/straw color. A careful pour still yields a decent amount of sediment. Aromas of hay, citrus, grass and wheat are dominant. In the taste, much like a standard wit, wheat, lemon, twang of lemon grass, citrus, coriander and pepper. Very light. The mouthfeel is extrememly light bodied, thin, and watery. Overall, interesting and glad to try. Would say it would be great on a hot summer day, but I found it a bit too over spiced to be quenching, and too watery to hold the spices at bay. Average.

Thanks, Andrew. A cloudy straw body is topped by a small white head that drops to a thin collar. Smells like herbal tea and wheat bread. Lemongrass and coriander both come through very very strongly. The adjuncts are overpowering, as usual with DFH. Tastes of watery herbal tea, white bread, white pepper and strong coriander. Spices linger on the tongue in the finish. Not necessarily awful, but not good - it's over spiced yet somewhat watery.

A: Poured from a bottle to a pint glass. Had a pale yellow color and a cloudy texture. There was a big, creamy, long-lasting head. Very good lacing.

S: A nice aroma of malt, citrus, and some spices.

T: Tasted of orange, lemon, malt and some coriander. Not quite as dynamic as I would've hoped, but still pretty tasty. A well-rounded flavor.

M: A well-carbonated beer with a smooth finish. Light-bodied.

D: This an easy to like, drinkable beer.

Pours a hazy yellow color with a white head. In the aroma, faint orange citrus, lemon grass and somewhat earthy. In the taste, orange notes, dry earthiness and lemon grass. A spice bite and light to a medium bodied mouthfeel, with a semi dry orange to coriander like aftertaste. Almost saison like, mellow with a nice spice profile.

Pours a hazy yellow with a fizzy white head fed by a steady stream of bubbles from the bottom.

Aroma is spicy with corainder and definitely has some orange peel in it. There is light lemony aroma as well as the underlying Belgian sweetness.

The taste is sweeter than the aroma and the fruity esters, bananas especially, come out a little more than in the aroma. The lemongrass is still prominent and the finish is spicy with coriander and white pepper.

The mouthfeel is effervescent with lots of carbonation and on the lighter side in terms of body.

A very good wit and very drinkable.

Cloudy, pale straw color withh some sediment when you get closer to the bottom of the bottle. Nice head taht retains very well for all 750 mls and classic bubbling.

Citric, fruity, and earthy tahnks to the lemongrass. I was surprised that I could actually smell the lemongrass. Pretty cool!

Sweet yeasty fruit mixed with oranges and very soft sweet lemon flavors make this palate quite refreshing and flavorful. The mouthfeel is full of carbonation and a little chalky and dry. This only makes you want to drink more.

I had this on tap at Al's of Hampden -served chilled in a tulip.

A - A sunny golden yellow like lemonade w/ slight hazy appearance and thick inch of bone white cap. The beading is tiny and lacing is think and clings in a ring

S - The smell is better than I imagined w/ floral, tropical and citrus elments represented. There is a light herbal-lemongrass aroma which compliments the yeast and also a mild mango/passionfruit scent is there w/ slight pepper tinge

M - The feel is very lively in a good way w/ high carbonation and spritzy effect on the palate w/ mild citrus tang and mild yeasty spice tinges w/ very dry finish which refreshes the palate w/ each sip

T - I was please with the flavor -a taste that is light and tropical w/ slight tinge of lemongrass and herbal complement to the yeast flavor. The wit has a nice light citrus sweetness and subtle dry spice element w/ mild toasted malt flavor. The beer blends all the flavors in a way that is better combined than each individual flavor on its own. I enjoyed the citrus rind flavor combined with the dry finish

D -A beer I consider to be pure refreshment- I was surprised by this but happy w/ how good it was. I could enjoy this for hours and it is clean and refreshing w/out sacrificing flavor.

A very hazy straw yellow with a 2 finger head of foam. Look just like what a Witbier ought to.

Tons of aromas in the smell. Coriander and other spices, yeasty, with notes of wheat..now a blast of lemon zest. I'm not noticing any clove but that's fine.

All of the aromas seem to be integrated into the taste. It is very spicy and flavourful and a joy to drink.

Medium body, fairly light carbonation...nice mouth feel and drinks easy as pi. Darn good beer.

Enjoyed at the brewpub in Rehoboth Beach, DE

A: thin head on a hazy bright straw colored body. Nice lacing.

S: fruit and very very clean smelling. Wheat and light herbal notes as well.

T: flavor is excellent with wheats, pale malts, lemongrass, ginger and lightly sweet lemon notes in the finish.

M: medium smooth body and moderate carbonation.

Overall: for a style that is usually bland and boring this one stands out as one of the best.

750 mL bottle courtesy of fthomasl as a birthday brew. Pours very hazy with a huge and fluffy off-white head. Great lacing, a good looking brew here.

The lemongrass is actually noticeable on the nose. Coriander and orange of course, along with a soft, wheaty malt base.

Taste shows some very good, classic witbier flavors; pithy orange, tangy wheat and coriander. Nice and flavorful, and the mouthfeel is ultra soft and creamy...like drinking a cloud. Falls near the top of the class as far as wits are concerned...but still...a $10 witbier? Seriously? This style deserves to be affordable and put down a few without thinking too much. Great beer, but for as good as it is, I cant really see buying this again.

A - The beer pours with one and a half fingers of white foam on top of a slightly hazy, straw-golden colored body. The head is supported by masses of rising bubbles and seems like it could persist indefinitely.

S - Very spicy with notes of coriander, ginger, clove, and lemongrass. Some bready wheat malt in the background.

T - Bready malt and wheat up front with some coriander. Some soft wheat in the middle and a bit of orange. The beer finishes with notes of orange and lemon peel with a hint of pepper.

M - Medium-thick body, high carbonation, and a somewhat dry finish.

D - Wow, this is surprisingly good. I am not generally a fan of witbier, but the balance between the wheat and the spices here works exceptionally well. The lemongrass the lemongrass is a really nice touch, it helps cut through the cloying thickness that many other wits seem to develop and it makes the beer taste much brighter. Unusually drinkable and very much worth trying.

Poured from the bottle into a wheat ale glass. Bottling code 2011-1C.

A cloudy dull but orb glowing like lemon color with a super frothy white whip cream shampoo like bubbles. It's like a valley in there. Looks great.

Bouquet just great. Dry clove, orange zest, hints of citrus lemon. Some creamy sweetness like a creamsicle. Just wonderful. I don't seem to pick out coriander on Witbier as per usual but this still smells wonderful. Refreshing and a sense of crispness to come.

Taste is like a muted orange juice and wheat shake. Grainy finish with a refreshing orange zest and spice. Slight wetness in the palate in the mouthfeel, no prickly serious carbonation or gaseous feelings.

Overall a killer summer refresher, and a great witbier one of my favorites.

750 ml bottle. Served in a nonic pint glass, the beer pours a hazy straw gold color with an inch white head. Head retention and lacing are both pretty good. The brew smells like coriander, orange peel, wheat and some yeast. It tastes like oranges, lemon peel, coriander, wheat and a bit of peppery spice. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it's crisp and is well carbonated. Drinkability is very good, it's nice, refreshing and really easy to drink. It's a great choice for a summer day or an unseasonably warm 65 degree mid-November day like today is. I think this is a good overall brew, nice and sessionable. I'd like to see this beer put in a 6-pack, but I'll still buy bombers of this.

App- A bit of a hazy golden yellow with a large two finger slow receding head. A bit of dots of cling. A nice looking wit.

Smell- Wheat, lemon, spice, grass, coriander, peel. What else could sam put in this one? Smells very clean and to style.

Taste- Of all the wits I have had. This one takes the cake. Retains the essence of what the style is all about. It has a nice wheat base with a bit of coriander and lemon/orange peel. A little thin spice with a balanced profile. Not too thin or watery but just good.

Mouth- A light bodied beer with a good wheat residual flavor with some lemon/orange zest and a little bit of coriander. A medium high carbonation to make it all blend together.

Drink- It's a very good wit. I have had some shitty ones and this is very good. One of the few I would come back too.

A: Pours a cloudy/hazy golden/yellow color. A two finger white head forms with good retention. The foam gently recedes to a ring, and sticks around as a small collar. Sticky lace is left behind.
S: Musky, basement like funk and earthy aromas. Some light fruity esters come out, but not much else. I like the aroma, but wish more of the coriander and orange would come into play.
T: Big earthy notes. Basement like funk, and there is plenty of spice. Coriander, orange, and lemon flavors are spot on. Husky wheat. Very clean flavors here.
M/D: A medium body that is very crisp and effervescent. Clean and bone dry. Though smooth at the same time. So easy o to drink. The bomber will be gone in no time.

Dogfish Head has disappointed me on a number of beers, though this one is excellent. A spot on Wit that is incredibly enjoyable to drink. Something I would highly recommend.

Pours a bright yellow golden color with a mountain of head and great retention. Yeast and coriander are most noticeable in the nose. Taste is lemony with a hint of orange peel and coriander. There's also some yeast present. The flavors blend very well to create a well balanced beer. Mouthfeel is light, crisp, and smooth; very drinkable.

This is a very drinkable beer, and at a low ABV, a great beer for those hot days.

Note: Though this beer is great for the style and is very drinkable, it does break away from the "off centered ale" strategy that Dogfish works toward. This one is very much more standard than their other offerings.

Poured from 750mL bottle into a tulip.

Appearance: yellow-golden hue with a fair bit of haze and a thick finger of pillow white foam. A decent looking witbier.

Smell: wheaty, citrusy aroma with an interesting spice component. I'm definitely getting coriander and orange peel here, which is listed on the label, but I'm also getting some lavender and wildflowers here. Quite nice.

Taste: substantially like the aroma, but with a greater emphasis placed on the flowery spice flavors. Light, airy and reminiscent of springtime.

Mouthfeel: medium-light body with tons of carbonation yielding a massive creaminess. Love it.

Drinkability: quite a drinkable and refreshing brew. I think after awhile I would get tired of the flowery flavors, but for one bottle I think it's quite tasty.

This one pours a light gold color. Cloudy and bright with a fluffy white head about 1 1/2 fingers.

Aroma was more floral than spicy, and I picked up some corn as well. I think I'm sensitive to corn as I get it a lot from beers of this style. Semi sweet bread back-sniffs.

For the style this one tastes pretty good. A bit orangy or persimmon-y with loads of herbal spice and coriander. A soft biscuit malt provides a nice foundation. sweet in the middle. Towards the end I think it's going to leave a sort of syrupy film, but it gives a nice punch of dryness. Carbonation cleanses the palate and we're off again to the next sip.

Alas, this is not my style. Would be good on a hot summer day, but just one for me. Too rich in the banana-like, herbal spice yeast. Otherwise, though, it's a good beer for the style.
